  1. Well mine a K-reg 93 2.0l 16v so would the top plate be the same as the VR? Also would it just be the spring rate that is different on the front alone?
  2. Cheers dude. I know, I know must be lower....now that I'm in sunny, flat cambridgeshire I might have to get it done sooner rather than later!
  3. Cheers dude. Coilovers are on the list along with getting the arches flared!!
  4. I know! A reasonable amount of jiggery pokery, and a bit of glue and ABS plastic to form the DIN aperture. I've actually sold them now, and have reverted back to one radio!! One was a MD Tuner, the other a CD / DSP
  5. You've seen the light! Welcome...
  6. I think bling on the manifold and rocker cover is a must! Looking very good, I may have to follow yours and GazzaG60's lead and do mine...... Good skills on your work so far anyway, I'll be watching this carefully...
  7. just_say_meth, you asked the same question I was just about to! My Roof broke the other day, so going to do this swap. What reg do the b3 passats run from and to? (Just so I can ask the breakers for the correct year passat...)
  8. Just found some JE forged pistons (9.0:1) on USA eBay for £290 including rings! And they ship to the uk!! JE pistons on the Bay
  9. So you think forged piston would be a more sensible, but expensive method? Aren't they around £600 though?
  10. I'm liking your thinking! Spacer gasket wouldn't be my prefered method, but obviously the cheaper option! Forged psitons could always be done as an upgrade in the future I reckon.
  11. Fair does that isn't a great deal of money is it??!!! Well that might well have made up my mind!
  12. Interesting, Dave that gives me a lot of info. By the way what's your build cost so far dude?
  13. Oh right! I'm now in Stretham, just north of Cambridge If you could send that info it would be double helpful
  14. Not really thought about turbo-ing the 2.0l...... Would that involve one of Stealths old kits?
  15. Right guys, I've got a 2.0l 16v, and the engine is really quite tired now and the bottom end needs rebuilding. So do I.... 1) Rebuild as a 2.0l 16v but lightened balanced etc and go with throttle bodies 2) Rebuild with low compression pistons and strap Bahn Brenner charger to the bugger 3) Replace with a 1.8T Not sure on the cost of each of these, so any input would be helpful. Hoping to do this DIY as much as I can. Many thanks Mr Indecisive.....

  17. I've got a K-reg 93 16v, revised bonnet, wings and bumpers, 15gal tank, but early interior!
  18. Don't you have to turn the piston at the same time as compressing it? /edit Ice White Socks, you beat me too it!
  19. Could your clocks problem be the amplitude of the PWM signal from the cranks sensor?
  20. Fair does you're off your trolley...... But if you pull this off fair fecking play. :notworthy: Good luck dude
  21. Your Not alone Baz.. Nope you not.... I love it! 8)
  22. See, if you got a charger, the air filter would be in a slightly better place! Looking good mate 8)
