yeh could do mate, but where is the fun in buying something thats already done. i'm just gonna get another dash, and while i'm off for xmas have a go at re-trimming it in the red leather i have left over. karl
-
why bother doing it?? just go and buy a vr6. They are cheap enough to buy at the moment :( i could understand if you were going 20v, you could always keep the vr6 engine you have, and re-build it.
-
i looked into this michael, the cheapest quote i got was £550, but over winter i'm gonna have a go myself :) karl

all sorted :D it was a loose wire going into the MAF, i did some soldering there when i extended the MAF when i installed the charger. but then went maffless, and tied the MAF cable somewhere safe in the engine bay. And obviously the solder was damaged then :? but its running lovely again, and honestly i have missed the vr growl, it sounds even better with the 6 branch, de-cat fitted. i may even keep it standard  yeh right  the Rotrex will be going on for sure. its to bloody slow  its a big shock going from 300bhp one day, and then you have only 200ish bhp. i need more power

very true

no ReekieVR it did not sound cheeky mate, i have checked them twice to make sure they were correct. but i'm swinging towards the coilpack :( i will be trying another one tomorrow morning. bloody cars :)

the cam/crank sensors are virtually brand new, as is the lambda sensor. its a standard fuel pump, and there is loads of fuel pressure in the fuel rail. and it revs freely until the car is moving and under load :? i havent got vag-com, but meeting dave on sunday so will put it on he's if he doesn't mind.

firstly many many thanks to 12 DEG BEN he sent me a fully working AG ecu straight away, before he had received the money. the car is idling 100% perfect, hasnt been like this for 18months. but as soon as i go past 3500rpm it starts to sound like a scooby :? a customer at work has a vr6 corrado, so i swapped the ecu over, and her car was 100% perfect. swapped the maf sensor over, and her's still ran 100% perfect :? i have taken all the leads out one at a time to see if i had damaged one while messing with them, and they all appear to be working :? the plugs are the proper BKR5EKU, but they were sat in the shed (wrapped) for 18 months while i had the charger on. so any ideas???? karl

i have had my de-cat on for the last 2 MOTS, and both times it has passed with it on.

a mate has a lovely mk2 golf with a flocked dash 8) it sounds really horrible when you say it, but the end result is surprisingly good. i think it cost him approx £75 to have the entire dash done. i will try and get some pics. karl

well i have an ECU coming soon so hopefully that will sort out the problem?? cheers for the offer James but mines a coilpack. and the reason the vortech has come off Paul, is theres gonna be a rotrex in its place very soon :D

i have found out they are Lenso BSX alloys :) but where did you get them from?? i have been looking for the last hour and cant find any for sale?? i have even been on kraut e-bay. pm me where you got them from, that is if you dont want everyone to get some 8)

well er no i didn't first time round  but then i realised i had been a plank and turned it round, i have spoken to crazydave today about it, and he said i could have knackered up the chip by a, putting it in the wrong way. b,when i was handling the chip i did have oily dirty hands, and that will do the chip no favours. So i will hopefully be getting another chip from dave tomorrow. i hope it does cure it, as even after 8hrs i'm missing driving it. karl

i have taken my Vortech off yesterday :( i have put the standard injectors in, but new plugs in. And put the standard chip back into the ECU. when i put the chip in i did the re-set procedure. the car will not start though?? there is fuel going into the fuel rail, the car is cranking over though, then i checked for a spark, the result was no spark at all :( so left it last night. this morning i tried again and it did not want to start :( at my mates unit he had an obd2 ecu from a passat, so we put that on and it starts/idles perfectly, but it runs like a big pile of dog poo :( so what could have happened to the standard ecu???? also there is a clicking sound coming from the MAF??? we unplugged the MAF and it still idled perfectly??? the car will not rev past 2500rpm in any gear, and its popping from the exhaust. please help. karl

as Andy has said, DO NOT use the TT hoses, they will fit no problem. but this is what might happen????? viewtopic.php?f=23&t=53841 very good write up Andy :)

been discussed loads mate, it is a pain to do, but you can do it easilly in a day. expect a garage to charge approx £300-£500 though to do it, where abouts in the country are ya??
-
i have never got round to steaming the rears, they are better than when i first did them. but the whole interior will be coming out after xmas though?? so i will be steaming it all then. karl

well if she's no longer with us!! she wont mind you borrowing it??

you will not need an industrial sewing machine James, but a modern sewing machine just cant cope with 2 layers of leather. so you need an old sewing machine, preferbly one that has the foot pedal mechanism???? and the most important thing is the thread you use, get the most expensive leather thread you can get. The last thing you want is to get them all sewn up, and then when you go to stretch them onto the foam the thread breaks?? Trust me when that happens, you will swear LOTS.
-
you will have to ring them mate, the £53 is for the standard corrado set. but just tell them what your doing. They supply the conversion hose's all the time, so you wont have any trouble. karl

if its any help??? i have a CAT i'm gonna be selling soon :)

well i'm slowly getting all the parts ready for the rotrex :D and this morning the chargecooler arrived 8) i'm very very impressed with the quality of the cooler, the welds are ok, and it looks well up to the job. plus i paid for it on friday so a very quick delivery. and the best part?? i won it for £82 :D i have a serck 30 row cooler for it (£24 off e-bay, brand new), plus i'm gonna be using a spal 10" fan for added cooling (£30 off a mate) i have an R32 water pump to pump the water around the system £10, just looking at getting a swirl pot?? so all in it will only cost me about £180  karl
