  1. hi Bally, when i saw your car at ed38 last year mate, i had to look twice at the registration plate, could not believe the transformation from when i met ya round your house, and to the car i was looking at. probably the biggest transformation of any car i have seen 8) karl

  4. i bet that was a very very hard decision James :( i bet you could make some money from this forum, offering your mechanical skills?? i for one, would let you loose doing anything on my car. as i put ya in the top 10 mechanicaly minded guys on here. karl
  5. i did mine today, following the incident i had on saturday :( i bled the master cylinder first, then the ABS pump, then all 4 brake callipers starting with the one furthest away, i used a gunson easybleed (worth every penny) it took about 1hr to do, and the pedal is the firmest i have ever known a corrado brake pedal to be, i did it with the ignition turned on,but not with the engine turned on, hope this may be of use?? karl :)
  6. ok, i have found out why this happened. when i got them fitted (at a garage  ) the complete offside brake set up from a 2001 mk4 was used. but on the nearside (side where hose wore through) the hose was no good?? so they fitted one from a TT, the TT hoses are 55mm longer than the hoses on a mk4 for some reason. hence why it was rubing on the inside arch. lets just say i will be phoning the garage in the morning. so everyone, please check you hoses.. as for bleeding the brakes, what a nightmare. karl
  7. cheers guys, just so glad that, A, my car is not smashed up. B, i'm still alive. yes, that is the order of importance  i think the beers tonight will taste even sweeter, just gotta find somewhere on a sunday that does brake hoses :? karl
  8. go and check that your hoses are not rubbing on the inner arch STRAIGHT AWAY. mine have been rubbing un-noticed by me, until i was approaching a very busy island doing about 50mph. went to brake, and i heard a loud hissing sound, followed by no brakes at all  went through 2 sets of red lights, missed about 8 cars that were going round the island. and virtually s**t myself. please go and check your hoses........ karl
