what about one of these http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... gLetter=53 yeh ok its a vauxhall :gag: but the engine is a very good, and a re-map will see about 260bhp. and you will be surprised at how much parts are from BMW, they are actually cheaper than VW for spares. -

well Mic, the one to get with an 840i is the 4.4v8 version, as this is the same engine as fitted to the newer 7/5 series 40's. it "may" only have 280bhp and about 360lb but for one its an alloy block so the engine is nice and light plus its mated to still one of the best auto boxes known to man when in sport mode. put one of these next to a mildly modded vr6 and upto 60 there will be nothing in it all, but after 60mph the 840 will just breeze past and keep on going all the way to 155mhp. how do i know this?? i told you my old man was a BMW geek who has owned virtually every performance BMW made, so we had a race one day  and as per normal CF threads this has gone off topic again  -

yeh kinda agree kev about some of the owners of M3's, a mate had one and he fitted an aftermarket exhaust with a particular Gruppe M air filter, and that M3 sounded very very nice. he scared the living shite out of me a few times when he was driving, but all in a good way. -

very nice car Kev, my old man had one upto about 2 years ago, BUT i would personally choose an M3 over an M5 just down to the HUGE running costs for the M5 compared to the more common M3. -

E46 330d Touring - Your Thoughts/Now Brought

nice one andy, if your going to get it re-mapped the only place to go is DMS, they check the turbo and fuel pump etc etc before they do a re-map, thats why you get the warranty with a DMS re-map. and yeh the 330's do sound nice even with the standard exhaust fitted, i've just gotta find a 320d/330d that i'm totally happy with. -
if you dont cut yourself while working on a car you have done it wrong, thats what my old man told me.

E46 330d Touring - Your Thoughts/Now Brought
KADVR6 replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in General Car Chat
hi Hasan, the 320 was still very good on the motorway and was returning about 55mpg, it was not slow and did not feel sluggish at all, but the 330 did feel more at home on the motorway, with more power/torque for overtaking. so i'm going for a 320, and then get it mapped at DMS so it will not be far off a 330 in power/torque but with much better MPG. -
brute force and ignorance is the way forward with this little job.

lying to the missus about how much you have spent on the corrado is just how it goes, if my missus even new a 1/4 of what i have bought/still got stashed, i would be spending the night with my four fingers and thumb for company  nice rims though.

right then i have been looking at the BMW's the last 2 days and driven 9 of them. What i have really noticed is the 330 is great on the motorway but around town you really notice the extra weight under the bonnet compared to the 320, the 320 is FAR better around town and you can really throw it around bends, doing this in the 330 you do feel massive understeer. so its very much like the old g60 vs vr6 scenario, and personally i'm going for a newer 320d with less miles and more options than you can normally find on a 330d this one in particular caught my eye http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... gLetter=03 -
Rado vs Rice : a little test, which do you prefer?

i love supra's theres just something about them. -
getting them diamond cut would cost about £80.
-
yeh thats all you need to do, but it will take you ages to do it without the proper equipment, plus you will have to clean/polish the wheels all the time so they dont tarnish, your better of getting them diamond cut, wont look as shiny but will save you having to get the metal polish out every weekend.

i agree with everybody above, 6k is a very good price but the 30% to buy the car back is not good. but you seen what you can get for the 6k viewtopic.php?f=12&t=81466
