I'd second that. Don't bother with a piper 285, awesome top end but tick over is a bit unbearable to be honest. I've just swapped mine out for a newman which idles perfectly and hasn't lost any punch.

I've been given a set of OE gauges to fit in a 94 VR6. The chap has only supplied the gauges themselves and a VDO sender. Can anyone help me out with where to get a loom? Apparently the gauges came from Germany. If not can anyone help me with a wiring diagram so I can make my own? Any info appreciated. Thanks

Thats scrap. Don't put it back on your car. No point risking your engine

It's goin to be personal preference isn't it.... I'm 23 and like my Golf loud. Nothing better than rolling through town at about 1800rpm

What are you running at the moment? I was running a drilled airbox before with CC removed and a cold air feed. To be honest I don't think its any louder. Depends what you are used too I guess

A couple of squirts in each side at slighlty raised idle. Once a month

breather filter g60 plus why ditch giro valve? new Question!
goodridge replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Engine Bay
Another G60 bone of contention..... No different to some of the forum members running an ISV re-route now via the BBM pipework as I saw in another post -
Sounds like the timing could be out. You need to check the mark on the auxilary shaft matches the one on the crank pully. And then the rotor arm should point to the notch on the distributor body

Surely the best way to measure this is to sort out a gauge for charge temps after the I/C?

What about VW OE Fanjet screenwash? I Know it has alcohol of some description in it. If you pour it out you can set alight to it neat! Was thinking maybe this would be ok?? What do you guys think?

Oh er, we jus did this on a Vento VR. Didnt have any problems :? This may help http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/ultima ... =001122;p=

RESULT. Glad your chuffed with it mate!

I under understand the purpose of it. Eseentially its just a two way valve. What I want to know is is it safe to run the boost the ECU wants to bleed off back into the system?! And you say you will happily sacrifice the possible failure of an engine for more power yet have never fitted this kit?!
-
Yes thats all good, but I thought that was why it was frowned upon?! The ISV is no longer your safety mechanism. There was a thread ages ago about Darren trying to sort this but as I recall it never went anywhere. Are people quite happily running with the ISV re-route then without any pinking, detonation problems?!

Ouch I pay that for TPFT on my G60 Golf and i got 5yrs NCB in a low risk area! :(

Decided to do something useful with my bank holiday weekend to and at the last minute, ended up down at RK Engineerings workshop to do a few jobs on the 60! My Bartek RS rebuild kit had been sitting around for a while and it was time to get it fitted........ Then got a bit carried away! Off came the charger for the strip down, everything washed and checked. To my delight the casings were all good and the scroll was ok apart from a couple of repairs by the Germans. Although I was not to bothered about this as the charger had done a fairly hard 30K miles since Mario rebuilt it before I got the car from Supergolfs nearly 18 months ago. And up to the time off the rebuild would produce a strong 16psi! Jeremy and Simon at RK had split several chargers before and done a couple of rebuilds so I was fairly happy everything was ok with their watchful eyes on me! The charger was totally standard, so it was out with the die grinder for some porting action! This is where it all got a bit out of hand! The charger recieved a good but sensible port job, as did the U-bend. While the car was in bits we also decided now was a good time to flush the intercooler and re-paint it, as well as flushing the radiator, fitting a slim-line Pacet fan I had, and removing the OE water-oil cooler to allow me easy access when changing the oil filter which had become incredibly tight since fitting my solid front engine mount. Bearing removal was pretty simple with the use of the waste oil burner exhaust for heat, and the freezer for cold, and all of the bearings were swapped with ease. The Bartek kit came with the SNR top bearings, all new circlips and stainless bolts as well as some rather thick Kluber grease. Once the whole lot was re-assembled it was then treated to a coat of silver paint, with the U-bend being picked out in black. After running the charger in for several hundred miles I have to say the result was well worth the few days spent up at RK!! She will now pull 12-13psi of boost almost instantly and has peaked at 17psi! To say I'm chuffed is an understatement! yahoo.gif yahoo.gif yahoo.gif Along the way I took some pics for your perusal! Hope it's of some interest to you guys. John

So..... Back to topic Are you saying that you can simply change the MAP sensor without changing the chip to allow more boost?
-
Yes sam it can ! We sorted these issues out years ago. I belive you now have the appropiote map sensor sorted also.. Darren.... Do you now have more chips to match different MAP sensors?? The Eprom has nothing to do with the map sensor ...[/quote:6caf2] I realise this mate, but surely more boost requires more fuel?!

Yea i jus read a load of them. But there are NO definitive answers anywhere mate!! Darren said they were working on sorting this bleed off problem, that post was months ago, jus wondered if anything had come of it. John
-
BUMP  We still have'nt heard anymore on this issue, has this testing come to anything Darren?
-
As above, your comments appreciated please...... Still can't get a definitive answer from anyone as to why they are bad, and the yanks use them, so......... Anyone? John
