I am thinking of buying a set of RH alloys and the ones which are leaping out at me are the ZW1's and the ZW5's. I was thinking of 17 x 8's and the ones I am looking at are ET35(would these sit kind of flush with the arch?). If anyone has already got either of these wheels on their car, could they please post some pics to help me choose. I am also thinking tyre size of 205/40/17's which I think is just a slight stretch? Won't sleep 2nite now for thinking of wheels lol :roll:

I have marks on the roof lining that are like black damp spots/mildew. Its not major, but would like to get rid of it is possible. Anyone had this and managed to remove it? I've already tried various shampoos and 1001 but nothing is shifting it!

khurrado, Not tried the glue stick method.....does it work? I'll get one if it does.

G60SC_Stoney, There is a tree quite near my car but only leaves fall from that one, but there is a chestnut tree across the road. Unless kids have been throwing them, its the only other thing I can think of! Mr Sands, Thanks for your comments on the car, to be honest you have cheered my up a bit, cos right now I am really disheartened with it, and have been thinking of selling it, but there is nothing else that I really would like to buy....other than a Golf R32, but thats not in my budget right now. lol It is needing a new exhaust due to the baffles going in the middle box, there is rust on the rear arch, including dings on both doors and a huge one on the drivers door due to a hit and run in Asda car park. The alloys are also badly pitted, and was never really happy with the quality of them, so they will now be used for winter wheels once I can decide on which new alloys to go for. Feeling better now I moaned for a bit there lol

what sort of price do you think i would be looking at for the dent guys to sort the roof? Just wondering if it would work out at about the same price to get the roof included in the respray and get it sorted then. Also....anyone close to the Glasgow area who could recommend a dent removal company? Thanks

no golf courses close enough ! and I think that a cat would be too light on its feet to cause these....there are none on the bonnet anyway. anyway tried one of these dent suckers? just wondering if that might work

Was polishing the car tonight to find another 2 dents on my roof which is now 3 in total! They are about an inch in diameter. Where are these coming from?? The car is either parked at my work or the house and only does a few mile a day so it isn't left sitting anywhere for people to be hanging around it or even throwing things at it for that matter! I am getting the car resprayed very soon but thought I could get away with leaving the roof....not now though.....not happy :(

Its maybe worth trying this first then before messing about with more belts!

My power steering belt was changed not so long ago as it was making the dreaded squealing noise on full lock. This worked for a short time but the noise is back! It has been tightened a few times and maybe the problem is that it has been overtightened...anyway the guy in the parts department tells me that there are 2 different sizes of belt for a 1991 16v and I am sure the last time it was the longer one of the 2 i got. Should it have been the shorter one I got and this is why it isnt tightening properly? The strut top mountings were changed 2 weeks ago and the squealing got quieter after this for a few days but now is even worse than before.

Did a search but cant find any previous comments on Chemical Guys products....anyone used them before? Was having a look at some things on their site and wondered before ordering if anyone had used any of their stuff before....and if so, is it any good? Jules

Although mine aren't BBS they are very similar to the RK's.....only 16's though but might let you see roughly what they would look like

Must be something with Asda car parks...the same thing happened to my drivers door and the person didnt let on either. Was fuming for about a week after! Ashamed to say I still haven't got it fixed and that was a year ago, but getting prices soon for the full side to get sprayed as the door is all scratched as well as dented :(

I think I might have been given a wee discount in there too though :wink:

Just picked up the fuel filter to find out that its not that after all, its the fuel pressure accumulator which needs replacing. So one on order for tomorrow now. :)

Yip, had a look at the 'how to' section and it looks like the fuel filter! Just phoned and got a price of £8 which is more like it. The £60 price and the idea that is was a charcoal filter came from my local Volkswagen dealer too....doesnt give you much confidence in them :? Thanks guys will get this sorted tonight

The car is a 91 Corrado 16v. The leak is under the car near the drivers side rear wheel. I had a leak there before but it was a pipe which had corroded. The car was up on ramps today and I had a look. I cant see exactly where the fuel is running out from but it is dripping off the bottom of what looks to be a rusty old metal cylinder thingy which is about 3 inches long and has pipes running into it? Soz for the poor description lol

Today I was getting new rear shockies on the car and at the time it was noticed that I have a fuel leak. I have been told that it needs a new charcoal filter as the old one has rusted, causing a hole to appear?? Is this the correct name for the part (charcoal filter) and if so, how much would should I be expecting to pay? I was offered one for around £60 :roll:

Ok thanks, this is the first thing on my 'niggly list' of things to be done but lately I have lost heart a bit with the car.....but this weekend is the start of things! Then I can start on the 'major list' ! There may be more questions to follow lol

My rear spoiler when going up and down is making an embarrassing groaning noise lol! I know that it must be needing greased or something cos it sounds like the rubber or whatever the material is is sticking. Just wondered if anyone has had this problem and what they used as I woudnt like to put anything near it which might end up damaging the paintwork around that area.

I have had the same problem although it seems to be okay at the moment. As well as the loud screeching kind of noise I also had the shuddering through the steering wheel on full lock. The belt has been tightened a couple of times and is new as well, but still not sure it wont start squealing again at some point,

After a week of this happening it is now beginning to really annoy me! Problem is that my water level warning light is flashing on my dash but only early morning this seems to happen! When driving to work it flashes all the way, but never on the way home or at any other time of the day. I have made sure these is plenty of water in it and all hoses seem to be free from any blockages. I am guessing that it must be a dodgy sensor but just wondered why it only flashes early morning! The car was parked up all day Saturday too and only moved last night but even after sitting for so long the light didn't flash. Anyone had this happen to them or know for sure if its the sensor? :roll:

Yeah thanks I think I will do that. Its not that far from me anyway. I'd rather give them £80 and get the job done right, than give £50 to a dodgy backstreet garage down my way!
