  1. I totally agree with you Jim. There is nothing worse than the cheeky chaps who nip in at the last minute. Most drivers these days are just plain rude in general, but I have been in many a situation where I have wished my 16v was quicker. Did someone mention group buy ?? lol
  2. Its a shame it had to go....you still got the Capri then?
  3. Well here's hoping it doesnt happen again. I have now got another 2 new tyres on the front and the geometry sorted out. The tracking was out and although it wasnt pulling majorly to the left, I do feel a difference. The steering also isnt as vague too, so fingers crossed its sorted.
  4. At least he took his shoes off first :cuckoo: :nono:
  5. I'm well impressed with this. If I had the time and money I would do it too, in a different colour though , but thats doesnt matter cos it's still amazing. Looking forward to seeing it finished
  6. Cool, I'll look out for yours at E38 then...if I'm right in saying you got your Rado from up my way and I'm sure I seen the advert for it at the time. It caught my eye bcos that is the colour I always wanted 8), and of course it had nice wheels :D Mine is the straight black. and very shiney cos its not long painted. Its my daily drive though so after the winter period it needed a wee polish to get it back to having that dead smooth feeling. Will yours be getting sprayed before E38 you think? The next thing to get is coilovers and I have decided on Weitech. So I just need to get around to ordering them....after that I'm not sure really. I'm not very mechanically minded so it will be the other half who will tell me what to buy engine wise and he will fit it basically! There are some niggly things needing done this year too which I have on my list, i.e fix the sunroof. I will also renew rubbers on doors, windscreen, new roof strips etc He has a 16v Mk2, and it is around the 5th we have had between the two of us, and yip he loves it too!
  7. Thanks Andy, Yeah I managed to get a set of 4 stud after just about every company I phoned told me they only came in 5 stud with the adaptors! Looking forward to seeing yours with the 9's on 8) Will you be going to any of the shows this year? Edition 38 is a definite but not sure yet about Inters, and also not sure if the Corrado will be going. The mk2 always gets preference :( and it starts to get a bit costly on the petrol taking the 2 cars down such a long journey, considering the amount of money I end up spending on bits too. To be honest the Rado still isnt up to the standard I would like it to be at before I take it to shows, buts its not far away. Bodywork wise its just about there and the interior just needs a tidy up. However I would like to start spending some money on the engine next as at the moment its totally standard. As I am typing this and my husband is doing his nosey bit of reading it he has told me that if I get the finger out and spend some time on the Corrado then he would seriously consider leaving the mk2 behind so that the Corrado can go to E38! Yipeeeee lol
  8. I will have had mine 10 years this October! I had never driven a Corrado before and I didn't even test drive it. It was my husband who took it out with me as passenger cos I was too scared I'd bump it before I even bought it ! Anyway my mind was already made up to buy it even before he gave me his opinion. I seen my first ever Corrado when I was 14 and I can remember it was a dark blue one. I remember thinking that one day that is the car I would like to get and I managed to get one when I was 21, I love it to bits and I am still aware that I smile to myself at times when driving it lol !
  9. I'm liking the debadged one 8)
  10. I havent yet done anything with the sunroof over the winter so its now time to sort it. I will give the local VW dealer a call quoting the repair kit part number 1HO 898 019...thanks for that Valerian, I'll give it a go, and I hope to have it all sorted for the better weather
  11. Love the colour and it looks great condition, well done for finding it :)
  12. Used a proper gauge on the tyre tonight and the pressure is definitely okay, so I am now thinking more towards the tracking? Altho I am thinking that would only explain the wearing on one side. The 4 tyres are all the same make....Falken ZE512's and its a shame i now need 1 new one when the other 3 are like new. The main thing is to get the problem fixed before the new one goes on! I reckon I have a couple of months left on it. I cant think of any other obvious reasons other than my first thoughts of the tyre being underinflated, which has now been eliminated
  13. I will check the pressure again at a different airline just to be sure, but there is also more wear in the centre of the tyre too, although not to the same extent as the outers, put is quite a bit in comparison to the other 3!
  14. . Yeah the tyre pressure is definitely okay, I checked it just over a week ago, but didnt notice the wearing at the time as it was dark. It is pulling to the left but not badly, and the suspension has not been changed recently, I have just went up a size in wheel and down a size in profile. But the tyres on it before didnt wear like this/ Is yours wearing on both edges too? Luckily enough I have managed to avoid any bad potholes since I put the new wheels on....which is a hard job on our roads!
  15. Just noticed tonight that my front passenger tyre is wearing pretty badly and and is mainly on both outer edges. the tyres were brand new on in October and the other 3 are still in new condition as the car does very little mileage. The tyre pressure has been checked and is fine, however I know the tracking does need done, but even so, I wouldnt imagine that would cause the tyre to wear so quickly and on both outer edges more than anything? There isnt much room around the tyre, but I'm only aware of any rubbing while its on full lock.....any thoughts on the reason for this?
  16. I managed to find some spare time to read through the full thread as the time has come to buy a set of coilovers. I am swaying towards the Weitech Gt kit which seem to be getting good reviews, however the other make I had in mind was AVO's ....but no-one has said too much about them. Anyone got them on their car, or had any past experience with them? I have recently stuck a set of 17's on the car, and there is slight rubbing on the rear arches. The way it sits just now, it wont take much to fix. I just hope with the new suspension doesnt make it worse. I also love the height its sitting at and just hope I can manage to get it looking the way it does just now with the new suspension :)
  17. That is a lot of Capris! There is a white one sits over in Hamilton which looks very clean. It would be a shame though if the Rado has to go :( We had a MK1 Golf convertible a few year back, it was more of a fun car though than anything, even although we didnt get much chance to get the roof down. At the time it was like you said....wanted to have owned one, but much prefer the mk2's :) :)
  18. awh your not selling are you? What's the new car you've bought? What springs you put on it? I'm ashamed to say that I havent done anything with my suspension yet which means the 16's have not been put on for the winter and the good wheels are still on! Just been a bit too busy just now to get it sorted out.
  19. That would have been ideal too but I havent ordered from them before. That is a really good saving too :(
  20. I just found out today that one of the things I had ordered for my husbands Christmas wont be in stock in time so I need to look for something else. I have been thinking towards a steering wheel and have been looking at the Isotta ones. What I'm looking for are your opinions on best makes of steering wheels and best place to buy from as it is getting closer to Christmas and there isnt much time to receive it, so I need a reliable supplier. Also this is to fit a VW which has an airbag so I think I need to make sure I buy the correct hub? and does the hub take care of the flashing light on the dash for the airbag?
  21. Had mine just over 9 years now with no plans of changing it yet :)
  22. I prefer your wheels to the Porsche turbo Twists anyway, and liking the colour :)

    New engine?

its the mk4 thats got the 20vt in it, yeah the mk2 is a 16v but it would leave the Corrado standing too :( . It has had a few things done to it though. To get a comparison sounds like a good idea! Funnily enough I have never driven another Corrado other than my own or even been in another one as passenger. I always compare it to the mk2's which I have had, which is probably not the best way to judge it.

    New engine?

Well we managed to cure the starting problem by swapping the injectors from the old engine to the new one and it starts as it should now, also took it for another tune up and it is running much better. I think my problem is that I got too used to driving the 20VT while the Corrado was off the road, and I am missing the power now. Gonna get in on the rolling road to see what the story is before I make any more decisions :)
  25. I think they suit it, but not a fan of the black..
