Quick question about the pin under the arm on the gearbox. When I was changing the release bearing I knocked the pin out and am unsure which way around it goes into the hole? One end has a plastic cup and the other has nothing, what end goes into the gearbox hole? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ok, I have the whole front end off and the engine out. I am swapping engines and decided to dig a little deeper... Hopefully the hole will begin to fill in :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh, and to remove the roll bar while I'm at it - do I need to drop the subframe at all? And if so, do I need to do anything with the steering rack? Again thanks for any pointers :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the help. Forward as in, toward the front end of the car or forward as in pulling from the wheel arch outward? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the engine out and the front end off, so thought it would be a good time to replace the wishbones. Got all the bolts off clean, but can't get the rear free from the subframe. Am I missing something or has the bush just seized onto the subframe? Having the same issue with both sides. The bushes are no longer in the control arms, meaning both bushes are no longer held in their pressed position, the control arms are moving freely around. Just can't get them out of the subframe! Am I ok to use some force as I'm fitting new arms with the bushes already pressed? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

When I take the old engine out with gearbox intact, what should I do as far as timing when mating gearbox to the new engine? Do I need to set the old engine to the marks before separating the gearbox? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Good to know. I have a new LUK clutch kit I bought a while back and was planing to fit before I decided to do the 9a conversion. I wasn't sure if they would be compatible, but looks like it would be... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks as ever for the good advice! Just double checking that those parts will work with my existing early gearbox? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What clutch kit do I need? I'm keeping the original gearbox, but it will be a 2.0 9a engine going in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the pics! As long as it's complete along the fixings not too worried about the drilled out part. I have a spare cover. Will send a PM and we can work out from there... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
