  1. Hmmmmm, Dunno then. Might give them a go. But hey, G60 Jet.... Mate, you're in a part of the world that actually gets to see that big orange thing in the sky from time to time Don't ALL bulbs look dim to you ? :)
  2. Have just read G-Lader's thread about his eyebrow spoiler, and not wanting to hijack it am writing this here. His front end pics show up very well something I've been thinking about. Has anyone used those indicator bulbs that have a chrome like coating on them (but still flash orange) to reduce the orange tinging behind the indicator lenses? I've always thought they'd be better nice and clear looking, and those bulbs seemed like the answer. Are they any good? Do they light up enough to see in broad daylight?
  3. Cheers mate. That's just answered my next question. I may sit myself down in a darkened room and try to work out the mph difference between the two. :| Who am I kidding? I'm goin the pub! :) :)
  4. Aplogies.... My tyres are indeed 205 45 16 (typing error  ) So..... This `Plus One' setup I've got has increased the overall rolling diameter of the standard 15" wheels then? As (if I understand properly) you're not losing the full inch gained by the rim diameter in the reduced tyre height. So here we go... Increased rolling circumfrence = less wheel revolutions to cover the same distance = lowered speedo readout. (God my head hurts so much today  ) But if as dinkus, suggests, the speedo gets more accurate with this setup cos cars are caklibrated to over-read, then that's fair enough. I'm happy! 8)
  5. Does anyone know exactly how much (if at all) running 16" wheels with 205 40 16 rubber round them affects your speedo? I suspected they might do, so got a mate to run down the motorway in a standard focus, with standard wheels and give me signal when he hit 70mph. My speedo read 65mph :!: I know speedo's lie more the faster you go, but assuming the one in his nice new shiny focus was calibrated to be correct up to the legal speed limit, my 5mph reading deficit at 70mph could catch me out one day with those gatso cameras we all know and love. Has anyone running 16's with the same size rubber had their readings checked? Ta.
  6. As kvwloon, says, you can go down the economy route to fixing this problem via GSF, but I won't use anything other than genuine, OEM VW rubber bands on my baby ! :turn-l:
  7. Suppose Corrado compliments are like buses. You get none for ages, then 2 come along at once. Last time (afaik) anyone even noticed my car was when I turned up to my golf society meet in it, and had 4 blokes circling round it looking at each other and nodding! Those infrequent moments Make it worthwhile don't they?
  8.  Sorry. It's Friday, and I was getting a bit giddy. That's MY fix. D'ya reckon Corkhills VW would give me a start on the spanners if i showed them this mechanical masterpiece?
  9. Was having a bit of a comedy problem recently with my windscreen wiper control arm. Dunno what was going on, but it took only the slightest touch to activate the washer jets. Hitting a bump, or even hard accelleration and BINGO! Super clean windscreen. Was starting to crack me up, but I trotted off to my local dealer who, after 5 hours labour finally sorted it for me.
  10. Saw the white G reg with crystal rears again this morning. Was behind him along Ormskirk Rd going from Wigan to Skem. Both flashed and waved once more. Second spot this.... I'm assuming he dont come round these parts! Ah well.... His loss
  11. Hang on. I've spotted a flaw in my cunning plan there. If I'm OUTSIDE the car.......... :cuckoo:
  12. Yeah. Got onto that. Tells a story dunnit? R.T.A investigators must love Corrado's for that. Their own mini black box!
  13. Chavs and Scumbags..... Legalise those undercar side flamethrowers from South Africa!
  14. Redressing action...? Why... Do your shoes and pants not match ? (Sorry. Serious thread. Shouldn't make light of it)  Really. Hope it all comes out in the wash! DOH....!
  15. Looks like RIP to the unlucky sods sat in some of those. Some big knocks there! :|
  16. Heh Heh.... It wasn't long ago I was on the other side of that same story, when after cockily blasting past a double decker bus I got a split in the top radiator pipe. To add insult to injury I'd pulled over in a bus stop. Bonnet open. Steam everywhere. When lo and behold the same b*stard bus came along, pulled in behind me and gave the 30 or so highly amused passengers their moneys worth with a ringside view of the impatient knobheed who'd overtaken them all earlier. Whad'ya mean beetroot ?
  17. 2 G reg's within 12 hours. A red one, last night on Norley hall road, Wigan And a very clean white one. G***MRH with clear rear lights and black alloys, in front of me down Ormskirk road from wigan towards Skem, this morning. Got a wave from both. Makes you feel good, dunnit? :) Anyone Claiming ?
  18. I've just had a disturbing image pop into my head there....... :cuckoo:
  19. They're a bit of a muscular looking bird though, don't you think? Not sure I'd wanna get jiggy with a girl who looked lke they could beat me in an arm wrestle!
  20. Ha ha. Never thought of it that way. Suppose now I'll have to *COUGH* apply some lubrication to keep the action smooth!
  21. Noticed a lot of people on here refer to their cars in the feminine sence. Always seems to be "SHE's not running right" or "SHE pulls like a train" Just my bored thoughts here, but how can they be thought of as anything other than blokes when they get erections at speeds over 45mph?
  22.   Pesky computers.......
  23. I said I'd keep an eye out for Corrado's whilst on my Jolidays in Crete, and all week nothing. Then, 4 hours before leaving for the airport...... Didn't notice what type it was. Too busy scrambling for the camera! Rethymnon harbour. Crete. Long shot this, But... Anyone?
