Hiya, got a few questions about this intercooler - all dimensions; Overall size, Width - Height - Depth? Also width between inlet and outlet - smallest measurement? Looking to fit in front of a different radiator so wanted to get an idea of size whether it will squeeze into space! cheers...

ahhhh... well i have 2 keys, one for drivers door and the other does everything else (i.e. passenger door, ignition and glovebox) except the tailgate. Anyone know the part numbers for these (drivers door and tailgate lock)? Is it possible to change the barrels myself?
-
i dunno... the handles failing and ignition and dodgy waterpump n a broken pulley (ok not really a niggly fault) and leaks... one would be ok in less than a year maybe two... now its started to rattle... it goes on... not to mention my misfortune that was having a brick through windscreen and a small prang... DOH!
-
Chris VR6nos, i love corrados and this forum, especially the way everyone takes all the niggly problems in their stride... like "its ok - IT'S A CORRADO!"

...biggerbigben, and a squillion bhp 1.8t 4x4? ;) we can but dream...

yeah sorry should have been a little clearer with my post - the metal within the front bumper bolts through the subframe, it will become clearer when u get the car jacked up and see the bolts... it should just come clear pretty easy - remember the wiring to the fog/indicators tho...
-
would a grinder be fine? anyone please?
-
BigEastsideTartanTimmyG60, Do you kno what parts were used? i have the switches loom regulators and control box but dont know if i need it all... and to the rest of ya looks like all combination can be had... strange...
-
there are four bolts to undo underneath for the front bumper - if you have a look there will b 3 either side, DONT undo the big one but just the smaller two on each side. Also there may be a metal strip on the inside of the bumper above the spoiler that needs to be taken off to free it up. As for back bumper - no idea... havnt needed too - would presume either something underneath but more likely something in the boot?

do not profess to knowing alot about painting/spraying cars, but there are different ratios for different painting systems and nowadays alot of cars are painted with base coats (metallic & nonmetallic) and clear coats (usually referred to as lacquer... but confusingly isnt anymore since the demise of cellulose!) again i mite b talking out of my arse - but this is what i have heard through friends who work in bodyshops. I may have misheard or been mislead tho...
-
you certainly pay for what you get tho - if you can take the car off the road and know someone who can show/guide you through the prepping process it might make it cheaper - also removing things like lights grills - any trim that you dont want sprayed may help make it cheaper too - but only if you find a friendly bodyshop. Generally there is a lot of time consuming jobs to be done for a car to be painted... and time is money! Correct me if im wrong anyone... but some bodyshops around here work this way, afterall alot of the people that work in these places are enthusiasts like ourselves and arent ALL in it just for the money!

i have switches and loom and controller and regulators for electric windows... but im err too lazy... no i use the car too much and i spend my time working on my mk1 golf now...
-
sorry dont know if this is the right section... but i am in need of some general help/ideas/knowledge. What tools and cleaners/strippers/solvents if any are best to clean off the sealant and waxoyl from my inner arches so i can paint them? I was thinking of a hot air gun n scraper... but its so primitive and dont like the idea of heating the metal work. There must be some way to speed up the process other than just scraping n pulling at the damn sealant stuff? :?:

phew im not alone - only one thing i really disliked about my "keep fit" windows was that the handles didnt line up with each other when totally shut. So when fixing my door handle i lined them up... im so weird - my car looks like a rite rat mobile outside but my window winders are perfectly synchronised! Oh and its those winders that provide the aircon G60Jet !!
-
got a solid roof - i mean with a sun roof? Also anyone with manual windows?
-
apparently thats a real rare bodykit... heres hoping its a one off... even thats one too many!
-
mines a funky green colour... heres a recent pic of my standard rat style... its my daily driver and i literally cant do with taking it off the road to work on it. Everything i do to it has to be done in one day and outside. I work everyday of the week except sundays! Oh and before the smart comments i know that there will not be a colour code for the yellow n grey primers on the sticker just been out in cold n dark looking for sticker in boot - think im being dumb, cudnt find it. Where is it? I will go have a look again tmrw when im not so tired (and i will be sober...!) But from the pics on that site listed above i think it is LD6U. Oh and i know my rado is high... spending all me money on me mk1 golf at the mo... and the niggly rado problems  I would also like to bet i am the only person on the forum with the misfortune of owning a c this colour! Also it has manual windows and no sunroof!

he is not lieing - i live down on the island too and everytime i see the car it has changed... various different styles of skirts n bumpers (well the evolution of the flushing...) oh and bonnet swap (cheers for the old one!) best wheels it has had on it too!
-
although... tbh i think you should include a sticking plaster in further repair kits!
-
cheers all - figured out what the problem was - i hadnt started bleeding yet!!! no matter how hard i tried it wudnt go - i tried opening n closing itpersuading it with a screwdriver for a bit of leverage... so i took it apart and got a drill bit marginally bigger and drilled it out... nice tough steel dave! then popped it back in - catching me left thumbnail that leaked everywhere on shed floor... lol but all sorted now though - think it was just one of those things. Cheers all and especially dave - recommended piece of kit - feels so much stronger than the shrapnel i found inside the door... rite whats next to go wrong?
-
i was going to straight away but damn battery died on cam then it was a nightmare to focus on... still not great - you be able to see the holes that are supposed to line up - the red arrow indicates the edge of the hole through the repair part.
-
have tried fitting the handle repair kit today but the hole in the new part does not line up - no matter how hard i try the edge of the hole in the repair part is barely visible in the existing handle... any ideas? i could post a pic if it would help explain?
-
i think i am with you now... it was the bit where you need new plates/tumblers that i didnt comprehend! As for dealers... a guy who was born on same day as me and spent every school day with, lil bro works in parts - good for a small discount and mite b able to help... worth a try... im talking s h i t e now... tired n its only midnight... nite and thanks again!
-
has anyone else done this with the barrels? can all barrels be changed? what is meant by "just change the plates over" ???
