G60- gin, I had a very very very similar problem with my 1800 so i replaced switch and sitll no joy - worked fine for a bit then randomly just doesnt. by random i mean sometimes it will b first start of the day (so cold) or after ive stopped at petrol station (so hot) I since wired in a a push button starter (after i fried a 3rd ignition switch from "experimenting") this seemed to cure the problem... except the last 2 weeks or so its returned... No more bump starting or beating the starter tho - the starter always turns over fine... i know this cos... i have a 2-3foot length of electrical cable that after i have turned ignition key for fuel pump i put one end on spade on starter then splash the other end on the battery... easier than bumping not always possible when in a space or facing up hill - but not ideal! by doing this am i bypassin the solenoid? what other parts could it be? wiring from starter to ignition? wiring on the starter?

1800 16v using loads of water... appears to drip off of the area around the belts underneath engine on drivers side. Is this where the waterpump is? would this be a problem with the pump or connecting hoses? hows best to find out? jack car up and hav a look? sorry about total ignorance... novice here!

Personally... i agree on the whole street sleeper thing... always loved modified cars but now think subtle tweaks smoothing and debadging (a trend that has been around a fair few years...) can be so much more effective than massive bumpers and spoilers (less is more and all that?!?) but now to totally contradict myself - the reiger bumper on hennys isnt massively over the top... anyway what do i kno - im jus a newbie around here and only had a C for a month or two...
-
Cheers mate... and errr... yeah - corrado ownership - loads of work to be done!

Nah knowing my luck it would breakdown... at least new one would be under warranty!

GOOD NEWS!!! I sorted my indicator problem... loose connection again... made worse by the height i had the steering wheel at! (had cowling off and when i fiddled around with multiplug it worked intermittently - albeit very random then i dropped steering wheel to have a closer look and all worked fine!) At same time... i sorted starting problem... was the multiplug again (maybe something i did when changing ignition switch!) - loose connection... woohoo! :) 2 birds with one stone and all that !!! Big thanks to everyone that helped :D
-
btw did try that with mutlimeter... was being dumb and thought it over and asked dad that and he sed same as u - thanks anyway... Henny, u are a star!

SoundsAlarming, Thats the same conclusion i came to and tried to point out... confusing in me head let alone put into words! and like the brain surgeon comment... hand eye co-ordination it good... patience... hmmm! Scott, I was thats why i asked about the hazard switch! What confused me was that the right side doesnt work at all... and not jus when using hazards - because i dont know how they are all wired up is why i asked... thanks all for the help! :D

Not a problem jus wanted advice and didnt know which category this would fit in?! Electric windows... i have a 1800 16v without leccy windows and wondered what parts i would need to fit them to me car? Regulators? Loom? Switches? Controller? And how? has anyone done this?

Cheers for all the help guys... will post some pics of the tired old girl soon - when camera is fixed or get me a new one! Once all the niggly bits are sorted (yeah theres quite a few...) its wheels, lowered, exhaust and respray... if the wallet stretches that far! heres hoping...

Where can i get this manual? How much? cheers for all the help guys... and btw i HAVE checked fuses and relays as much as i know the fuse works - can hear it click and the left side works and the fuse i swapped over for new one and is fine so left still works... just need a multimeter to check them all now!

Henny, it seems to be the black/red wire? as i did wot u sed there and the starter motor turned over! Now how the fuck do i find whats gone wrong and where... trace back along the cable? I would like to know if its definitely not the ignition switch - but dont really fancy buying another to find out!
