Never heard either of em  but I know what you mean..........dont know whether the G60 owners will appreciate being called nutters though.......................then again

Now now girls and boys, didnt want to start any grief and I know the final decision rests with me, Ive driven both already and know alot of the pros and cons of both cars as being a mechanic by trade ive driven most of whats on the road at some stage or another, but theres nothing better than getting feedback from the owners themselves, Ive owned a Mk3 vr6 but never a VR C or G60 so I just thought Id ask :?

Yeah but I want to know why VW did it this way, surely it would have made more sense to not even bother with the G............unless they had a store room full of Superchargers that they had to get rid of quickly  , by the way im not meaning to upset anybody by saying they are inferior, cos i want one so bad, just trying to make up my mind between the G and V

A few of you will probably remember my unintentional bonnet restyle resulting in a write off by the insurance company a few weeks ago, and so am now looking to replace it, but I thought id buy either a G60 or VR6 the models I should have gone for in the first place, so thought I would have a quick look at the performance figures of the models, but after looking at the corrado club link I noticed that although the G has 160bhp as standard the acceleration times of the G are slower than the 1.8 16v, although in the description it says "this time with added power and acceleration", is this a mistake??? my mate used to have a G40 and that kept up with my 8v Gti all day, so although I know the G60 can be tuned to a far higher output than the 1.8 16v I'm just wondering why VW did it like this, anyone shed any light on it??? I might just save up the extra pennies and get a VR cos i so liked my old Mk3 VR6 :D then again I do like the sound of the charger on full tilt.......so come on boys and girls.....advice pleeze

Nice mate, Like the colour................but as far as the tyres go they may have the same tread pattern but the compound makes a good or a bad tyre, nice to look at though :)

All test centres should have a static brake tester that just sits on the floor of the passenger footwell and measures the braking effects that is for vehicles that for whatever reason wont go on the rollers, but to be honest im thinking the guys just been an arse, go to a different test centre, if you have a ministry testing centre around you they are the best to go to as there not bothered about getting any after sales from you and they are completely fair although a little strict............this was the case 6 or 7 years ago when i was testing anyway :)

I had a Ramair on my Mk3 VR and it was sweeeeeet!!!!! Highly Recommended 8)

Get a Fairly Long bar, tyre bar is ideal and wedge it between the hub and the bottom arm, then lever up and down to see the movement in the ball joints, it should be obvious if they need replacing or not :)

Yup carb icing is nothing to do with the ambient temp, like vr6storm mentioned, you can suffer with carb icing during the summer months

Anything with a vtec would get my vote, according to Jezza on TG Honda havnt had a single engine failure yet.............but then again if it was me id my lookin to Germany for some solid power, M3 is sposed to be the most fun you can have for 10k unless sooooper expensive slappers are your thing....................then again if you want out an out power by a bike 10g's will get you a bonafide 200mph superbike

I love the C, but after taking an Elise around Donington Park race track as a birthday present from my lovely wife I'd say buy one and keep the C for everyday, but you cant beat the Elise for fun and thrills, I loved it so much we ended up calling my daughter whos now nearly 4 Elise, I thought she would have less a hard time at school than if we called her Dub.

"It's about credibility" :D

After owning both mk3 golf VR6 and my current car a 1.8 16v C then I can safely say that the C has style in the bucket load that the golf never had, but I dont think you can compare the engines, the VR was just soooooo sweet and sounded amazing and pulled like a train, the 1.8 valver on the other hand feels ok for what it is but at the end of the day it is only a 1.8 4 cylinder block which has been around for a long time now,................ theyre the same car Jim but not as we know it.

Defo a timing prob, did exactly the same to my old mk2 valver after changing the cam belt, somehow a few teeth out and manifold was literally glowing red, we turned the engine off pretty quick when we noticed
