  1. My admin skills a crap...... If you want to start the ball rolling I am totally fine with that Keyo. I'm just happy at the thought of getting out and about in my new car as it was the whole reason why I bought in the first place :thumb right: In all fairness it would probably be a benefit if you started the ball rolling(if you don't mind?) as I am not signed up to face book and it seems that it may be the best place to get current news/info for Caffeine and Machine.
  2. Your car looks awesome Keyo. I just love seeing clean cars that you can eat your dinner off. Hope to see it in the flesh soon.
  3. It would be the ideal place really as the whole venue is aimed at catering for car lovers. For a casual meet up there is a large car park to side of the pub that would allow us to all park together. The bar area is not that large but there is plenty of seating outside which is all you need in the summer. On the weekends there would most likely be other cars of interest there so that puts it miles ahead of any old country pub. Or we could find out when they are holding their next event/meeting and arrange to join in. This would mean we could park up in their main viewing area with all the other cool cars.
  4. I took a drive to Caffeine and Machine on Monday. There were plenty of cars and bikes there. Everything from US customs to an Armoured Personnel Carrier. It's £5 to park up(coffee included), if you have a car of interest they will get you to park on the main grass area for others to view. I didn't stay long as it's kind of boring sitting there on your own, but I can imagine over the space of a few hours there would be lots of nice cars arriving, making it an entertaining afternoon of eating, drinking and chatting. Some kid came along and took a photo of the good side of my car, so that made me slightly happier at forking out the fiver
  5. Welcome back Jayceer. Leicester is not that far from me, some where north of Coventry would be a centre point for both of us. If anyone else is that area maybe we could arrange a meet up. There is a classic car meet in Hinckley on the 16th of this month, I'm tempted to take drive over, so we could possibly do a meet there if anyone is interested. https://www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/events/event/311/hinckley_bids_classic_car_meet
  6. Thanks for the link I found their website which listed NLA but didn't think about ebay. I'm not sure they will really be suitable for my exhaust as the metal mount is 12mm round as opposed to the thin curved type that those fit. Plus I think they need to be longer over all as these ones will probably pin the exhaust up rather than let it hang freely.
  7. Thanks Bandit! It's been a nice couple of days with visiting Stanford Hall and taking a drive to Stratford today to see some classics.
  8. It's 27 miles each way for me but somehow managed to clock up 97 miles :) All trouble free, thankfully.
  9. My Mum gave me her old Fiat 128 on passing my test which I drove (and crashed) until I was 21. Then I bought an x reg Golf MKI GTi with my hard earned savings, and so began my love for VW's.
  10. Thanks for the info chaps, will look in to it.
  11. The appraisers where there when I was looking at it. I said to one them that it's the best Corrado I've ever seen and as good as just out of the showroom, it's better, was his reply. Me and Seb spoke with the owner and he really has gone to some lengths to restore the car, even down to reproducing the VW production stickers and new tyre labels.
  12. Just found 3 at the auto jumble £1.50 Nearly there!
  13. Welcome and great news on returning to the road.
  14. Shame to hear you've sold up. Maybe one day you will be back........ Safe journeys until then Jon!
  15. Considering my local factors told me £200 plus vat for a Valeo it's decent price. They told me the next day that there was no stock, which has been a common theme, I order, pay the money, get an email 48hrs later saying sorry and my money refunded. I will order one now and wait fingers crossed for next weeks reply. Thanks for the link *Edit* The rad shown in that link is for a VR6 although it's listed for G60, the Valeo number is in correct. no stock sadly https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/spares-search.html?keyword=731401
  16. It shows no longer available. I didn't consider the price of the VR6 fan assembly needed to do the conversion. My rad is only leaking a little bit under pressure so I'm thinking that waiting for availability may be the best option. I've spent far to much already, if I can just do a straight swap I will just have to swallow the inflated price. Thanks for the link
  17. Thanks Keyo I bought the car on the strength of the condition of the engine, chassis and interior. All 3 where in great shape and with only a few rust spots I decided it was a good car to go for. It was local to me and I figured I could end up travelling miles upon miles and looking for ever. Visible to me was a non working spoiler, sunroof, ABS fault, blowing centre pipe and rotten battery tray. All things I could tackle myself or get repaired with relative ease. After using it for a few days it seemed to perform ok but with a bit of over heating in traffic (first stage of fan was broken). I didn't like the ride height so decided to raise it to my preference. This is when the problems started and consequently over the weeks I've discovered a whole bunch of issues. The list includes Miss matched wheel nuts 2 threaded wheel nut holes on one rear disc Exhaust through pipe fitted back to front Rear shock top mount rubbers upside down and no gas in o/s/r Front wheel bearing not pushed home enough for the clip to sit in the grove Front cv joint from another model (possibly Mk2 golf) Track rod end over tightened to the point of destroying it in the space of 3 months (that's as old as it looks) Light switch fitted upside down To think that I went a little bit over the speed limit with these faults is a bit of a wake up call. Will not take chances like that again.
  18. Thanks for the pics Shaun Didn't really want to go down this road but I have failed finding the correct rad sadly. I think I might just wait for VW Heritage to get stock or possibly buy one of the aftermarket alloy rads I see advertised. Cheers
  19. I found a fair few hidden issues and bodged repairs with my recently purchased G60. There has been some stressful moments over that last few weeks as things played out and lessons were learned. But today I am super happy to report that the car has a full MOT for the next 13 months. All traces of the previous owner have been erased from history and now the car runs and drives like a dream and pulls like train. One happy story
  20. It's worthwhile removing the little fuse strip at the top of the fan module and giving it and the contacts a clean if there is any corrosion forming. Fans coming on some minutes after a car has been switched off is a normal occurrence as far as I'm aware.
  21. Has anyone fitted a VR6 radiator to their G60 and could give me some advice from their experience of doing so please? Cheers
  22. It seems that there is some kind of kit fitted to mine already, or possibly it's repair, I'm not sure which. I think the relay may be sticking as for a quite a while the head lights where coming on when I switched on the side lights. It's stopped doing it at the moment but I wanted to replace the relay anyway. I didn't realize these upgraded kits where a mod community product and was under the presumption that it was a mainstream product. Thanks Keyo
  23. Can someone link me to the best place to buy the upgraded headlight loom from please.

    Ahoy.

Congrats An impressive mission to obtain a Corrado. Enjoy your new toy. A few pics would be nice.
  25. Lets hope the weather holds. It was glorious last year, to hot in fact. If it's a bit chilly you can deal with it but rain will just kill it. Fingers crossed! Anyone going in their Corrados?
