Hi, I've been getting error messages like the below when following links from Google and when using buttons within the forum (i.e going from page 3 to page 1) Function name must be a string on line 1566 in /data/websites/direct.the-corrado.net/includes/class_bbcode.php #0 /data/websites/direct.the-corrado.net/includes/class_bbcode.php(1021): vB_BbCodeParser->parse_array(Array, 1, 1, 0) #1 /data/websites/direct.the-corrado.net/includes/class_bbcode.php(542): vB_BbCodeParser->parse_bbcode('Thought I would...', 1, 1, 0) #2 /data/websites/direct.the-corrado.net/includes/class_bbcode.php(456): vB_BbCodeParser->do_parse('Thought I would...', 0, 1, 1, 1, true, true, 'on_nl2br', false, 1) #3 /data/websites/direct.the-corrado.net/includes/class_postbit.php(1242): vB_BbCodeParser->parse('Thought I would...', 11, '1', false, NULL, NULL, true, 'on_nl2br') #4 /data/websites/direct.the-corrado.net/includes/class_postbit.php(329): vB_Postbit_Post->parse_bbcode() #5 /data/websites/direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php(1096): vB_Postbit->construct_postbit(Array) #6 {main}

Aftermarket parts that have failed prematurely or faulty
_Matt_ replied to Keyo's topic in Engine Bay
Seconded on the JP MAF - avoid all! Heap of $h!t :) -
That is great news Anna and thank you for pushing the Corrado. We will be at risk of these cars dying out completely if parts can't be sourced and for many we are rely on your company!!

The obdelevan is really for post 1996 OBD2 vag cars. Later ones are more supported for coding mods. I use it on other cars in the family. For the VR6 it works because there is an obd2 style port but we only get basic scanning and live read out functionality.

Just had a read through - thanks for the heads up in my thread :) - lots of work.done here. The rusty panel - ouch! Disappointed you got 5 more BHP than me haha

Here a link to the OBDEleven https://obdeleven.com/en/home/10-obdeleven-device-0725423005103.html

I'd recommend the OBDelevan too. Great for modifying the coding on your golf GTI as well :-)

Clutch release bearing if it goes when you depress the clutch. May as well do chains at the same time if no history....

I have cloth but the patterns are not the best from the era. I wouldn't want full leather without aircon but the leather does look nice. My plan is to retrim my interior half leather with a more interesting fabric for the centrea (houndstooth or something)

Yeah that is all there is. Does sound like your system is working well... but there is always something to keep us on our toes.

They'll be wheel sensors (relatively cheap compared to pump and ECU) if they are broken, however if the ABS light stays out whilst driving it's nothing to worry about. My ABS light used to give me a sun tan for sure! Looking forward to not seeing it when I get the car back.... if I see it again shortly I'll be peeved (I've had a replacement pump, new lines and flexi's, brakes, ABS rotar rings and sensors... there are still more parts to go wrong though!)

Mine is similar to yours tone. Boot sticker May, registered 21 Dec 1995. The engine has a stamp as at Jan 1995

Ditto for me. The only mechanical bit on my car unchanged/not refreshed is the bottom end. Once it has been resprayed i'd want at least 12k. Simply wouldn't sell it for any less (no plans to get rid of it anyway). I would sooner by my car over these low mile cars - they'll need money spending on them anyway and at least mine is basically new, if not better.
-
Nice, not usually a fan of black badges but looks good on yours, likely because of the red VR6 badge. I like the wheels too. I want mine back now.
-
Thanks for the link. Unsure what is on mine but since it is held on by gaffa tape I should buy a replacement.

Indeed I was and I felt pleased i could report it back to the wife as disaster avoided. I would equally like a mk2 golf and a 964 too! I've also got a thing for classic saab 900 turbo's at the moment too..

Cheers Keyo. Shame I didn't get to see yours - fantastic attention to getting it tip too. I've got a couple more weeks left to go. I have some pictures to update my thread shortly. Did Vince show you the state of my tensioner - it was a mess and sure to fail anytime. Mine needs bodywork too. Looks alright from a few paces away and in photos sort of thing. Oh and a new drivers seat (Ben on here has sorted me out)

I've done this job earlier this year. Fabric came from AS Trims and I chose light grey which was a perfect match to the oem sunroof material. Once removed from the car I manually scraped the glue residue off. Then cut the new fabric to shape, glued it starting from the back end of the liner to the front. Once all glued I then cut out the sunroof and around the sun visor mounts. I used a glue gun the glue back the sides. Once all of that was done I turned it over and left it rest overnight and installed in the car the next day. Originally I thought it would be a difficult job but actually it was really easy, including the removal and refitting.

What 80's - 90s cars for sale have caught your eye recently.

Damn that's a shame, the interior doesn't even fit properly. How is that worth 3300 - a corrado in similar shape would be 1500 and only bought for the interior. It's only about 15 miles from me. -
Ahhh now the other has gone I'd stick to plan A...

Hmm both options are a lot of work, intially I thought as your VR6 loom has seen better days perhaps going down the tfsi route is problem solved. However either way you're going to be doing a lot of wiring work. TFSI will see more power for better value and probably will be more reliable. It's also pretty rare in the Corrado but very common out on the road. Only other downside is that the engine sounds like any other 2.0 4pot turbo. I see from your sig you do have another VR6 though so maybe this will be different enough and would a VR6 Supercharged+ dilute your standard storm VR6 too much?

I had a 325i with the same wheels and bumpers around 15 years ago. Nice car but sadly met its maker in my 21 year old hands. -
Not me but if you were at Stealth you should have seen mine! White Corrado.

I've got dinitrol everywhere undermine but it also chips off over time. Plan to touch it up with with same again or POR15 or whatever else I have lying about!
