  1. Thanks mate I will check out tonight, would be great if I can sort it!
  2. Hi, thanks will try that, but when you say check the settings how do I do this?
  3. Hi Allan, no it's only when hot and usually when stop start in traffic. It idles perfectly and once beyond low speed / revs it's fine, it's just the initial take off that is really jerky, almost like it's been switched off for a split second.
  4. As title, looking for a mint black leather interior, I have the door cards so not too worried about those, but I ideally want Recaro, and must be mint condition whatever type of interior. I live near Oxford, prepared to travel. Thanks.
  5. All looks clean and as it should be and securely fitted so don't think the issue lies there. What about the various sensors, cam position / engine speed?
  6. I have an early car so will need to know if they fit, I'm sure someone here will be able to tell. I think I'm right in saying a 92 G60 could have the later interior (red needles on dash?) so this may not answer the question re fitting compatibility.
  7. Thanks guys, will check out these suggestions but deffo replaced the lead to the amplifier.
  8. Hi the early ones have cut outs for the elec window switches, the later ones have the switches as part of the speaker pods, can you confirm which you have? I am also interested if Corrrady doesn't want it. Not sure if late interior will fit an early car, perhaps someone else can confirm. Any pics of condition etc? If from a Storm will deffo be a late one.
  9. Hi Guys, as per title I have searched the forum and cannot find a similar problem. Basically when the engine is hot and idling at traffic lights, when I move off there can be a violent misfire. It never stalls and slipping the clutch (to increase revs) seems to help. It's worst when accelerating fairly gently like when in traffic. Any ideas? I've had new leads recently and the engine is the smoothest I've had on a Vr6 apart from this. It doesn't always do it and has not got any worse in the 12 months since I first experienced the issue.
  10. I was recommended DubPower by Stealth, I ordered a standard black set and they are perfect, about £40. They do high performance ones as well.
  11. Hi Guys, Just had some new leads delivered and in haste pulled the leads out but realised then I don't have the tool to push the new leads back in. Is there anyone around the Oxford area by chance who has this tool that I could borrow tonight / tomorrow? Really need the car running on Weds! Thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks guys for your help. Spoke to Vince at Stealth too and he suggested the relay 109 as a first port of call. Re the brakes he too said just go back to standard VW so will do that I think, the brakes are the worst I've had over my several Corrados. Will keep updating re misfire.
  13. Hi Folks, can anyone help? I've had 2 x experience now of the engine severely misfiring (cutting out but not stalling) in hot weather and after a long run. The misfire is really sharp, like instant cutting out but only for nanoseconds at a time so just makes it severely jerky. Any ideas? I had something similar on a previous later VR and it was the crank position sensor I think, does this sound right? Also the brakes seem to get hot more quickly than I'd expect and compared to previous VR's. This one has uprated drilled disks and pads, could it be that they're just not very good? The wheels make a slight noise which can be heard with the windows open, this stops when I apply light braking, could they be binding? Any advice on good disks / pads would be great. Thanks in advance for any help with either issue.
  14. Looks brilliant, just ordered a kit for mine...
  15. Love it, I've just bought a red one too, alas not with the gorgeous black leather recaros, where did you find that one? I think red really suits the C and it polishes up so well.
  16. Just realised I miscounted when I put this post up as I'm now on my 7th! Hi, no I don't, how cool would that be to have a big garage full of them! My Corrado history is as follows, I'm sure some of them are still about, my second favourite was sold to a guy called John who may still own it - get in touch if you read this John! Car 1 - Red 16V, (F598ENH), one of the very first. Bought Dec 26th 1993, crashed it 1 week later and discovered it had already been written off not once, but twice before! I wrote it off for the third and hopefully the final time. I was lucky to be alive after I just missed an oncoming car and rolled several times through thick hedgerows into a ploughed field 20 ft below. Was 21 at the time. Luckily was the first car I ever insured fully comp and got a full payout (£5,500 for a 5 year old 16V, seems cheap when you think they were 18k new) Car 2 - Red 16V, (G425 WDG), nice car. Bought 1995. Car 3 - Aqua Blue VR6 (94M) Bought for £10k in 2000 from Cardiff VW. 35k miles. Black leather. Guy swapped it for the new TT at the time. Was a mint lovely car. I had a private plate so can't recall the original number unfortunately. Sold 2001 as needed deposit for a house. Car 4 - Aqua Blue VR6 (M898 PDP). Bought 2004. This is the one sold to John. Car 5 - Mystic Blue Storm. N5 ELW. Bought and sold in 2006, impulse buy and regretted it but sold for a tidy sum to a dealer. Car 6 - Aqua Blue VR6 N95 CHK. Beige Leather. Bought 2006 straight after the Storm. Fabulous car which I regret selling to this day. Chap who bought it worked on the rigs in the north sea, hopefully still has it up there in the highlands. I spent a small fortune on it and regularly attended shows. Sold 2011 so this was a long term one for me and I thought the last of my Corrado ownership. Car 7 - Red VR6 K677 VPH(back to red after 4 blue ones!) Impulse buy once more, wasn't sure how I'd feel getting back into an old VW but I just love it and it drives superbly after all these years. A keeper I hope! If anyone knows the whereabouts of any of my previous ones would be good to know.
  17. Hi Guys and Gals. Just bought yet another Corrado, just can't shake the love :) I bought this one as it's a very early and I believe rare VR6 - with the early dash and monte carlo alloys (like the campaign). Registered Aug 92. Anyone know what the chassis number is of the first VR's in the UK and how many had this early dash and wheels? I have a Sept 92 brochure which shows the new interior and Speedline wheels. My Jan 92 brochure doesn't even have the VR6 in it, so it was launched around June 92 I think (road test models were J reg) and only made until probably the summer shutdown of 92 (early Aug). Can't be more than a couple of hundred in the UK from July-Sept? Anyway, it's a fantastic example and the engine is one of the best I've had, very smooth and pulls like a train. Looking forward to attending some shows in the coming months. Will take some pics in due course.
  18. Any idea how i edit my signature btw, I can't find it anywhere. It was created under the old website.
  19. Yes standard except for Magnex exhaust. Done 110k miles. Are you going to Inters? See you there maybe if so to say hi.
  20. Hi Chuggs, I was going to post the same! It was me you were following. I see you live in Swindon then. I live just outside Oxford. Not long bought this particular VR and this was its first big run out. Goes really well. Saw you car in the show, love the blackberry ones. 54k miles, hardly run in, you need to rack up some miles to loosen her up! Oh and just realised I need to edit my car details on here as the description is my old one :)
  21. Hi All, Since I sold my VR6 my immaculate wheel and boss are listed on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230866429431;jsessionid=604C677CE9289AEBAEA6D0727BF6C64F?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D230866429431%26_rdc%3D1 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOMO-MILLENIUM-STEERING-WHEEL-BOSS-KIT-FITS-VOLKSWAGEN-VW-IN-ORIGINAL-BOX-/230866439944?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35c0b64f08 Thanks for looking.
  22. I've just got home, I had only been there 10 mins spectating on the opposite side which is the side the Leon was sprinting along and in front of our eyes the car just veered across to the other lane but then just kept on going and straight into the spectators, it was sickening to see. Everyone made a run for it in the same direction to their right but it all happened so quickly I'm sure the car just ploughed straight into some people. I hope everyone survives with minor injuries...
