I left my headlining on and cleaned it while in the car with some vanish carpet cleaner! worked quite well too, expect a very sore arm/shoulder/hand though!
-
Well funny enough I acually DO have a footrest on the lhs. Dont think i ever noticed it before! D'oh! Its a tight squeeze alright to get my foot to it but im using it all the time now! Mods you can lock this thread away forever! or keep it open if you want. I dont see much point though!
-
Cant take a pic at the moment as The C is in the garage getting head work done. valve guides, seals, gasket belt etc etc... I'll take a pic when I get it back.
-
Thats funny cos I dont have a left side footrest at all. Wonder why? Anyone else got not got one?
-
My early C has a footrest on the right hand side of the pedals? I never use it and I always seem to think that it would be much better it if was on the left hand side so I could rest my foot when not clutching? You never need to rest your right foot as you are always going to be using the accelerator bar i suppose sitting in traffic but its not like you need to rest your right foot anyway! So why have a footrest on the rhs instead of the lhs?

Hey Riley, That third picture is at Molls Gap right? -
I saw a Mercedes Maybach while on a weekend trip to london lst summer. Not sure how rare they are, but went up for a look anyway and to take a photo after which I was told me to fuck-off by some security guard!!!

Donut needs help with Wires for Radio !!!
paddyg replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
My early 16v also doesnt switch off with the ignition key, but I have got the actual manual for the radio and it says that the acc_in wire to the back of the radio is the wire that should be used for this. -
GIXXERUK, Yeah I've tried this alright, holding 1 button, holding both buttons, and nothing seems to work. Stumped...

Charming......but not stupid!

This happens to me sometimes also, so i just let the girlfriend get out of the car first so she gets the shock then i can get out shock free!!! lol... Although the previous owner said he has just replaced the earth strap before he sold it to me and it looks like solid contacts too so i ruled that out. Im putting it down to a build up of static off seats or whatever, ( i havent got leather), so i just push the door closed by touching the window.

Thats a pity really, that noise is annonying i think anyway. Has anyone ever done anything about this? other than changing the whole dash i suppose?
-
Ok maybe its me, but i've never really warmed to the switching action between full lights and dims on my early 16v. I just dont like having to pull the stalk for both actions. Its also kinda loud as well and I'd prefer to just push/pull like most cars and not have it so loud. Are the later controls the same? I notice on some pics that the shapes of the stalks are different/rounder/nicer. Does anyone have a clear pic of these? Has anyone ever changed to a later style lights and wiper stalks? Cheers P.

If its affordability your after then its the valver as it is affordale although you will prob have to pour money into it to fix something or other as the C's always need new parts. My valver is not really racy and i think you have to rev the 16v engine hard to get some performance out of it, hence why a lot of them are knackered possibly! The G60 gets you that out of the blocks acceleration i think anyway that you might be after, but you are going to pay for it through mpg and charger rebuild costs. I suggest you test drive a valver first and see if you can live with the performance before driving a G60, as you'll prob want that as soon as you drive it!!! Best of luck anyway.. P.

cheers dinkus, very nice colour...

Looks good alright. What colour is you car, think it looks very good? ice-grey???

Interesting alright. I have an Iriver and I use a Belkin fm transmitter to play in the car. I just place down by the handbrake to the left or right and its pretty easy to scroll from there. I'll post pics when I get a chance! I'd be interested in others ideas too!

Ok, found some time to finally have a look at this. Took off horn, then steering wheel, then disconnected all connecting wires to stalks, slid off indicator stalk, then wiper stalk. Inspected and thoroughly cleaned the faulty switch contacts and connected up the wires to check it. Hey Presto I've got wash/wipe again!!! Slid on MFA and wiper stalks, connected wires, put on wheel and finally horn button. Nice and easy job, small amount of time, large amount of self-satisfaction.

paddyg replied to sciroccotune's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Thats great, will have to give it a try at the weekend. Just to make sure I have this right, 1 In step 3 do you mean have the car started/running or just have the ignition on and the car not running? 2.Also do I have to take off the cover of the alarm unit to access Dip switch 3? Thanks, Pat -
Reprogramming a laserline alarm & vw flick key?? (pics)
paddyg replied to sciroccotune's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Well im trying to re-program a fob that doesn't seem to work anymore as it seems the only option. I opened the fob and it had T97 printed on the circuit board. I think this is the model No. according to a website (bridgewater electronics). Does anyone have the re-programming instruction steps for this model? -
Mine look like the two button fobs at this link. It is the T101 or T9. I cant see any difference. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... D%26sa%3DG I dont know how to check which model alarm I have though. Any ideas? Edit: oops, just found out, check the top of the link page to check which model you have.
-
I dont have a solution but a I have this problem too, I got two fobs when I got the car, one working and one not. New battery doesnt help and led still flashes when i press the button. Its a Laserline alarm and I'm thinking I should have it re-programmed. Have a read of the end of this thread... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 599#294599

paddyg replied to sciroccotune's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I have two fobs that came with my car. One works and the other doesnt. Even with a new battery it doesnt seem to be opening the car! Im thinking of re-programming it hopefully with your instructions, but how can I check which model it is? It is a laserline with two buttons (oval in shape) and an LED. Its a rectangular fob with Laserline written on it. Any help? -
Do the mkII golf and passats have the MFA switch as well? is it just GTi golfs or all mkII golfs?
-
On my wiper/MFA stalk i normally just pull back the stalk to get the front washer jets to come on and the wipers automatically wipe 3 times then. But lately It'd only work sometimes, and recently it has stopped altogether. Now when I pull back, the washer jets dont spray and the wipers dont wipe. Is this a faulty stalk? Anyone else had this problem? Its an early 16v, and the stalk works in every other position, ie up, down and pushing away for rear wiper.
