  1. Definately, there must be quite a few looking at this.
  2. Well, here it is It's a 94 VR6 which is pretty standard apart from the 16s and clear repeaters - although the 312 brake conversion is nearly on. Next on the list - exhaust and suspension, possibly a badgeless grill too. Anyway, I thought it was about time I got some pics up and hopefully catch you all soon. Fairzy
  3. At last my conversion is starting to take shape!! Today I managed to get the last caliper carrier bolt undone and was able to size everything up. Big shiney disks!!! - They are 16s... This pic shows the gap which you will need to fill with washers (between the carrier and caliper) and why you will need 5mm longer bolts; All that is left to get; longer bolts washers and some brake hoses! Dinkus - I was thinking of getting some Goodridge mk2 -> mk4 braided jobbies, are they a straight swap?
  4. Looks awesome mate. Were the bodykit and wheels imported?
  5. ok, so I got my 312s delivered the other day - another ebay-tastic jobbie and very impressed I was too! They look awesome, purposeful to say the least! Nice shiny new disks and damn fresh pads aswell. Phase 1 Put car on axel stands, remove calipers - easy peasy... Phase 2 Remove the top bolts on the caliper carriers on either side - realtively easy (with a little persuasion) Phase 3 Managed to remove 1 of the lower caliper carrier bolts, so down to the last one.... which is monumentally stuck! I mean no amount of WD-40/spanners/wrenches/positions etc have managed to budge the thing. To top it off, the locating screw in the other side (the one with the caliper carrier removed) is stuck aswell!!! It is like the bolt and the pieces of metal it is holding together have become one and don't ever want to be appart!! I was going to try ye ol place spanner on the bolt and use the jack to leverage it into place, then 'tap' the head of the bolt to try and shock it free, but as it is on the drivers side, the bolt needs to be turned the other way (pushed down, rather than pulled up) I think the locating screw will just be a drill the head off job as I understand you dont really need a locating screw. Any ideas on this would be massively appreciated Mike
  6. Personally I'd go for the Merc - very nice cars and well put together. The Alfa looks great, but they are well known for poor build quality
  7. Dinkus, can you keep us posted with which bolts, spacers etc you need and where to get them from? My C is on axel stands with one seized caliper and steel pads  Just ordered the 312mm kit, so hopefully I shouldn't be sponging lifts to work for too much longer ;-)
  8. I see an awesome Corrado VR6 everyday ;-) In and around MK - 205 t16, McMerc SLR, Aston Martins - pretty much all of them, but the top ones for me are DB7 Zagato, DB9 test cars 12 months before release and a certain Aston DB9 Racing car (I work in Newport Pagnell!)
  9. Interesting topic, should you tell your insurance company aswell? Mike
  10. Keep us posted mate... one of my calipers has seized so its the perfect time to upgrade. Any pics or a fitting guide would be REALLY helpful. Good luck anyway, I hope they fit.
  11. Quick question for you guys (I have already searched the threads and Google)... I am looking at fitting some coilovers on my VR - how easy are they to fit? (To give you an idea I can change oil easily enough) What work is invloved - is it a 2 man joband do you need any special tools? Also I have been keeping an eye on eBay and there is an importer bringing in FK kits; FK AK - £280.00 FK Highsports - £358.00 (both are about £20 p&p) Has anybody got any experience of either of these and could recommend one over the other. The highsports drop to 100mm whereas the AK go to 70mm, but around Milton Keynes that wont make much difference - although Bally might disagree! Any comments or suggestions regarding this as I was thinking we could approach this guy and setup a group buy if enough of us are interested? Cheers all, Fairzy

  13. Personally I would lean towards the R804 - it puts out quite a bit more power. The two rear outputs being bridged to feed the sub (250w as opposed to 160w) will make a big difference. The R504 might be a little strained powering a sub and is more designed for coaxial fronts and 6x9 rears rather than a sub. Hope this helps. Check out the thread I have posted tonight - there is a special offer on until Sunday..... Mike

    Audi TT 225

I have to say, a colleague of mine has a TT Cab 3.2 DSG (in Black 8) ) and it is fantastic. It is a quick car by any account, coupled with great brakes and that DSG gearbox. The bodykit on the 3.2 does toughen up the looks no end. I have nothing against TTs, just feel that if I were to buy one it would have to be a 3.2 - anyone who has never been in one get down to your Audi garage. (I have a VR6 BTW :D )

    VR6 - MPG

Just a thought, but maybe as it gets colder it uses more fuel for the choke?? I have noticed a drop in mine over the last coupld of weeks from 26-30 to about 24ish, so could be that.
  20. Any ideas where abouts the bleed nipple on the master cylinder is? '94 VR6.
  21. What is the bearing required for the rear? Is there any other differences to changing the fronts - just swapping disks and pads?
  22. Fairzy

    Rear brakes

Thanks for your help... I think for the time I might just replace whats there with stock - finances :( . Obviously I need new disks and pads, but are there any other parts needed? Ta
  23. Thanks for that, what parts would I need for a conversion to the 288s and what kinda price am I looking at?
