The relay for the wipers is relay 99. I would change that and see what happens. Relay 99 is common in alot of vw's so quite easy to find one, or do you have a friend with a car you could borrow one off to check if that works?

87 Jetta 16- Just out of curiosity do you have the part number for the glass sunroof you have please mate? -
Have you checked the relays are all pushed into place properly?

Im pretty sure I have seen this car in Pembrokeshire, I recognise the registration. When did you sell it?

My son went out with his grandmother today, and when he came home he said he saw a White Corrado in Withybush, Haverfordwest. There arent many Corrados around my neck of the woods, at first I thought it might of been my old one, but my boy said the rear badge was white and not silver, so id imagine it was an earlier style Corrado. Was it anyone off the forum??

This is abit of a long shot, but does anyone have any experiance with installing Clifford alarms? Basically ive bought a second hand Clifford 950 intelliguard G5 and I have a wiring diagram for all of the couloured cables, but there are 8 black cables and I have to idea where they go? The black cables are obviously all the same colour to stop someone nicking the car and would of been laballed originally when the alarm was fitted. They mainly go to the ignition side of things, they are labelled number 1-8 inside the control module, but what 1-8 going too? Any help is greatly appeciated. Cheers. Rob. :)

Did you drop the fuse box to see if the connection that should be on the end of the cable is anywhere, It might possibly still be connected behind the fuse board with the other part of the broken cable? I did a complete loom rewire of my VR6 but cant remember where the brown/white wire goes? I will try to remember and get back to you. ---------- Post added at 6:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:45 PM ---------- Heres some links with corrado brown/white cables in: http://www.clubgti.com/archive/index.php?t-242686.html http://www.clubgti.com/archive/index.php?t-181767.html

What colour is your interior? I have a couple of corrado interiors in my attic and might be able to help you with a new seat if you cant fix yours. Ive taken a few pictures but I only have my phone camera at the moment so they are not to clear im sorry: Excuse the mess on the cogs, haha. Im not sure if they will help you, but hopefully it gives you a better idea of what the set up is. :) ---------- Post added at 12:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:06 PM ---------- Also having looked at the mechanism again, i used a spanner to simulate the seat mechanism reclining, and it looks like the cog looking things in the picture do nothing and the part that moves the seat is inside this area but I cant make out how it work exactly?? So cleaning any muck off wont make any difference to fixing the problem! I think you might be right and the internal cog might be missing teeth?
-
I would suggest removing the seat, info here: http://wiki.the-corrado.net/front_seat_removal.html Then remove the plastic trim on both sides to see what that part of the mechanism is doing. I have a seat that ive removed the fabric from and it shows the complete mechanism, basically the reclining knob is connected to a belt(in a sleeve) that connects to the bar that goes to both sides of the seat, and this moves the cogs on either side back and fore. These cogs get quite dirty over the years and might just need a good clean?? If you want any pictures of the mechanism let me know. :)

Check the fuses first, fuse 20 I think is the one for rear brake lights. See if its blown, if it is then replace it with a new one and try again. Also try a search on here or google, there is loads of information that will help you. :)

I just went and had another look and it appears I have an early sunroof wiring loom, the connection that goes into the sunroof switch is the same but the ones that go to the motor are different. Im pretty sure that a mk3 golf has the same connection that you are looking for, i can get you one but you would have to wait until Tuesday for me to get it. Heres the early loom I have:

I think I have one. I will check and get back to you in 30 mins. ---------- Post added at 11:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:50 AM ---------- Sorry mate, just looked throught the bags with the looms in, took me 15 mins to untangle all of it, but I cant see the sunroof loom anywhere. Ive got pretty much everything else though if you need anything else. Sorry I cant help. Rob.

As title. Anyone got one they wish to sell. Let me know. Also looking for a reasonably priced full system/cat back system in stainless if anyone has one of these kicking around also? But a decat will do for now. :) Rob. :)

I got insured on my VR6 through adrian flux last monday, they quoted me £290 fully comp, 3000 miles a year limited milage, unmodified car, 10 years no claims parked on driveway and im 28 years old. I was really happy with the price. Id imagine my insurance is slightly cheaper to to my location(swansea postcode)?

Also check that the wiring to the speaker/tweeter in the dash. Make sure both cables are in securely as if either of these is out it wont allow the door speaker to work. But id imagine its probably the cable inside the door itself. :)

I bought a couple of sunroofs motors recently and managed to fix my original one in the mean time. Try removing the sunroof motor from the car and use the allen key to turn the motor about a dozen times each direction, do this a few times and then plug the cables back in and see if it works. I might to worth a try. :) I did this with mine and its worked fine since, id imagine something stuck from lack of use and doing this free'd it up!

Good on you for remaining optimistic. I think ive been really lucky with the Corrados ive bought recently. My VR6 cost me £310 and pretty much flew through its mot yesterday. But whenever you buy any car its a gamble on what work might be needed, we are not all mechanics and sometimes its fun to fix a car with faults, because it makes it your own and you feel proud to have given it another lease of life. :)

I just sold two of these the other week on here, but I know where I can get my hands on another one if you can wait a couple of days for me to get back to you mate? Postage costs £5.20 through the post office as they are quite heavy. Do you ever travel this side of Swansea?

I nearly bought this car off Jo, but I hate to say it, it was nowhere near as great as she was making out. I struck a deal with her for £650 but when I arranged to collect it she didnt get back to me! Im sure with abit of TLC it will be a great car though. If you need any help let me know. Rob.

I had a similar noise when I first got my VR and it turned out to be a loose spark plug! It might be worth checking. :)
