I would try changing the MAF for one that you know works fine, as the MAF may still be faulty! Disconnecting it will stall the engine even if it works perfectly or if its faulty in my experience.

Cheers for your replys guys. I managed to fix it by changing over the wiring from the indicator stalk to the fuse board. But to be honest the wiring was exactly the same, so im not sure how it made a difference!! But I took it back for a retest this afternoon and it passed, super happy now. :) Ive just got to put the dash and fuseboard back in place again and its good to go. Cheers guys. Rob.

I dont have one fitted, but I have one ready to fit soon hopefully. Ive pulled the fuseboard back down that I was hoping I wouldnt have to do, and im going to try one of the spare wiring looms i have and see what happens.

Hey everyone, im in need of some urgent help. Ive took the VR for its mot today and it failed on no dipped beam. I checked the bulbs, i changed the headlight switch for the one out of my other corrado, and swapped over the indicator stalk for my other one but its made no difference. I checked all the fuses also, but still no joy! Im wondering if I have missed an earth cable or similar when I changed my dash wiring loom. Does anyone know if the wiring from the indicator stalk has any seperate wires or does it just go directly to the fuseboard? All the other lights work, indicators, full beam lights and side lights, just not the dipped beam!! Any help is much appreciated. Rob.

Glad to hear you sorted in now mate. -
Nice one Neil. Yeah ideally I would love to find a bumper in the same colour as mine, but it looks unlikely. I will contact the guy about that bumper shortly and hopefully he still has it available. Cheers mate. Rob.

Rob's Project VR6 and 2.0 16v, VR6 head rebuild.
dumptyboy replied to dumptyboy's topic in Members Gallery
Another week, another update. I have the week off next week and I need to get the VR6 on the road and have a bit of fun with it. So I rang my current insurance company(Hastings) and got a quote to insure the VR, they came back with a price of £1200!!! I declined and decided to ring Adrian Flux and spoke to a lovely young lady who gave me a price fully comp of £295 with all the bells and whistles. So the car is now insured from Monday onwards, and my plan is to get it MOT'd on the same day, so ive got a busy weekend ahead to overhaul the brakes and finish off a few loose ends! Ive still been busy as always, but mainly sorting out the tunes: Made some new seaker pods: And refitted the rest of the interior, including new handbrake leather, gear knob, fuse board fixings and new A, B and C pillars: So fingers crossed the car will be MOT'd on Monday and pass without any problems. Cant wait to rip up the tarmac with it. :) -

Audioscape door pods for 6" speakers-how much?
dumptyboy replied to matt59876's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
The speakers are attached in the same way the originals are. Basically I chopped out the size i needed and removed the parts that fixed the old speakers, I then re-glued them with 'Mitre mate glue' and screwed them into place. I originally had Infinity speakers in the door pods and thought they sounded great, but now that I have these its a much better sound, and better bass too. I will take some better pictures tomorrow and show you in detail mate. :) -

Hello everyone. Ive just about found all of the bits that I was looking for to finish off my VR6 but unfortunatly the A pillar trim and the rear C pillar trim are wrecked beyond repair. I know a couple of you have these for sale, so could you give me a price including delivery please? Im also still looking for the dashboard switch blanks if anyone has these also? Many thanks peeps. Rob.:)

Hi. If you do a search you will find the information you need. Ive changed both of my sunroofs and used a Golf mk3 mechanism on both, and its a straight fit. You can also use a passat B3 sunroof. you need to remove you head lining and sunroof panel, then remove the old mechanism which is bolted to the roof, then do the reverse to fit the new mechanism making sure its well greased etc. Hope this helps a bit.
