When I was 16 (not a typo - driving age on the Island is 16, not 17), I always wanted to be insured under my parents' name. They said 'no' and told me it was for my own good. Obviously at 16 the world was against me and my parents hated me but with hind-sight, I am glad they did. It's nice that I can look back and say I paid my own way and also the NCB I have. The most annoying thing I find is that the brokers don't always give you their best quote. You tell them that you have a quote of 'x' and they come back with a better offer. Why not just give me that price to start with?! It would be like a supermarket charging you £20 extra on your shopping in the hope that you don't query the final amount. If it's a legal requirement to have insurance, the Government should set up an independent body to regulate it.

I've actually had some valve caps nicked as well, which I didn't actually think happened over here! :( It made me furious!! I think mainly because of how bloody petty it is!

Remove headlight (3 screws) > undo clips (about 8 in total around the headlight) > glass comes away from unit. Easy as.

Anyone spot the IOM reg'd BMW? Think it was the old M3. Seen it around a couple of times actually :D

Just make sure you have a car with thorough history. Or failing that, a pretty hefty drop in the price to reflect it! Not sure I'd be wanting to commit myself to a fairly high mile VR with no history. Happy hunting. (I'll stick this in servicing as well.)

Cracking roads. I don't think I could cope with living in England to be honest. The TT does get to be a bit of a pain (as well as the Manx Grand Prix) but I normally just try and keep out of it's way by going on holiday! :)

Me and the missus own a 2 bed semi with drive and front and back gardens. Area isn't too bad. We paid £125k about a year ago - probably worth near £140k now. No we didn't catch our house in the filming! lol Island is about 38 x 20 miles

Personally, I wouldn't mind joining but I'm not handing over my cash due to the earlier money 'problems' that the club had/has.

3 bed detached with garage and garden (all area's are pretty much the same really ie no rough areas) would cost you about £225+
