Well ideally when we (Andi :)) get the forum running on the new software, we are intending to have a 'how to' section. So hopefully, if you need to sort something out, you can refer to the necessary section where we will have a step-by-step guide (with pictures?) that willl cover most things you come accross. Of course we need nice people to write these in the first place. ;)

Laurel and Hardy at it again 8)
-
Think the DTA stand alone system is a lot cheaper than that and seems to be the most preferable now.
-
I thought you used a G60 radiator?
-
I think that sort of price should have come down quite a lot now that the conversion is a lot more widely available. At a guess! From what I hear, you should be able to get the whole engine/box/looms etc for around a thousand. Depends on which engine/mileage etc of course. I highly doubt that they would charge a further £4k to fit and tune the engine now that most tuners are ofay with the work involved. From what I gather it's not an impossible job to do yourself as long as you have the time and some degree of competance.

Driving age on the Isle of Man is 16 - I passed my test about 6 months after my 16th.
-
Go for the same as most people into dubs at the moment and drop a 20v T in. Should get a complete one for about a grand.
-
That's what you get for driving a heavily modded Saxo Jim ;) Buy a VR - you know it makes sense :)

Well I know it'll need some caring and repairing now but I'll put this in general - should get a better reponse as well. As for the incident, that is horrible to hear and you must be gutted. How far is it from the garage to the tree? Did it gather much momentum? I've just realised, and I'm pretty spooked by this, that I was having a dream last night (probably in the last 4 or 5 hours that I was in my C and no matter how much I used the handbrake, it just wouldn't work, and I kept rolling down this big hill! Those on here that know me, hopefully, will know that I wouldn't make such a story up - especially as you're probably a bit stressed. Anyway, this is one reason why you should leave your car in gear when you park it. Hope you are able to get it fixed quite easily.

......and don't run with scissors kids  Do a search for the word thermostat - should bring up a few previous threads.
-
Pretty steep then given the current exchange rates. Cheers
-
Looks good for the mileage! You like the blue repeaters? Got the same on mine (same colour) and I don't like 'em. Too lazy to swap em back at the mo!
-
Out of interest, how much do you guys pay for a set of height/damp adjustable coilovers?
-
Yeah I like the Golf very much as well! Bit intrigued by this picture tho. Relocated the lock for the boot? Why, if so?
-
The steering wheels are on the wrong side!! :D Nah, seriously it looks like a good line-up of cars and a decent bunch of friendly people. Oh and I'll put this in general actually as that's where we usually put the meeting stuff. We'll save that forum for individual's car-shots.

Tough one. We all get a little bored at one point or another with what we have and consider a change. The general trend with Corrado-ownership, as far as can tell is that everyone that has had one, always says, 'I wish I had another'. £3,400 seems like a reasonable price for the spec (no leather I presume?), so why not find yourself a better C? G60? VR6? Way I see it is that you are in a good position! Your mate wants yours for a decent price so why not ask him to hang on for a month or so, and have a hunt round for a new one? If you buy an Audi S3 (or similar), I still think you'll be wanting another C after long. You could spend a lot more modifying what you have, but it will still be about as quick as a G60 or VR. Just my thoughts

Sounds ok. 42k seems very low - I'd personally go and check out the donor car.
-
Try disconnecting the battery for a bit.
-
No way!!! Buy it - the door handle's alone would get you your money back!!
-
Sell it to me if it's nice? ;)
-
Well I did actually go down the Golf route. Think I had about 7 in 3 or 4 years. Still trying to get hold of a mk1 at the moment as a project - much like Jim is really.
-
Sorry! :( Thought you'd be selling up the Saxo, paying of finance and still pocketing a little for yourself.
-
Darren - you got the times for the later Digifant engine? Wonder what's better out of that and the k-jet. Yeah I forgot about Pau1's! It's been up for sale for a while now. What's with the wait Jim? Insurance renewal? You still hiding from the Clan-gimps Jim? :D
-
Jim Jim Jim! This is the route I advised to go once you were determined to lose the C. And I still agree with it. A decent-ish mk1 will set you back the same (if not more) than for a decent mk2. Try and get a '90 spec 8v or 16v if your insurance can handle that. Few more subtle improvements on the big bumper model. Could have had my '90 60k FSH mint Golf for a steal! If you want any pointers when looking for one, gimme a shout.
