I would agree that that would be about the price you'd expect to pay for a private sale. Bodywork could be crap. Brakes/suspension etc could all need doing. A lot of things are reaching the end of their life around 100k. Buy Tim's (Rallye's) G60 engine and drop that into your 16v shell? about £1200 for the engine and it should be an absolute peach.

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Happened on one of my old Golf's that had been left for a while. Odd that it should just go blank though so I doubt that disconnecting the battery will help. Worth a shot if all else fails tho - and it won't cost you anything!

Welcome to the forum Nick. As this doesn't come under routine servicing (usually!) I'll move it to 'problems'.

They will be ready when I can afford to stump up the cash to order over 100 of the buggers! ......... I hope to have them being sent off by the end of next week or early the week after. Got exams at the moment and would prefer to concentrate on those for now + I'm not sure on how long it will take for them to supply over 100 stickers to me - hopefully pretty quickly. Well seeing as though there are a few people with tints that want 'outside' stickers then I will order a batch of those as well. Will post with more details once I have them, but I think they will be a little bit more expensive because I won't be getting the same group discount on them.

Welcome to the forum first of all. Now I'm not the most technical of people but I would like to make the following points: I think that the 1.8 16v is generally preferred to the 2.0 but there isn't much difference in it. I think if the car has been sat for so long then you might need to replace the callipers at least. Might as well renew the whole brake setup whilst you are at it. Regarding the engine, I think that assuming that it has been reasonably well looked after then, once it has had a proper service and flush, new battery etc, it should start to run ok. Having it stand for over a year shouldn't kill and engine. If you can get it dirt cheap and it has a good body etc etc then get it checked over by a mechanic and go for it if you get the green light.

Yeah I'm 90% certain that there is a different LHD and RHD part. I know what you mean though - you would've thought that the centre console would have remained the same whether or not it had a LHD or RHD dash.

Yeah they look pretty good. Personally I'd try and clean up the back by spraying the number plate surround in body-colour and just having a nice chrome 'Corrado' badge instead of the body-colour one with VR6 badge. Oh, and you need a corrado-forum.net sticker or two as well ;)

Yeah but I think that whilst both LHD and RHD version are obsolete, you might still be able to get the LHD version from dealers stock.

Is it that the release mech isn't releasing the bonnet properly so that you can't get your hand in (ooer) to open it? Or is it the actual mechanism on the bonnet, rather than the drivers side release?

But Nigel......what door handle? They are etched glass look. They are totally cut out. Grey? Are you trying to get it to suit your car? I think if grey goes with everything then so does white really. How much bigger? Currently 200mmx20mm.
