"Ramair" seem to be the favourite with VR6 owners, although we don't stock them. We sell some of the K&N cone filters, panel filters, induction kits, etc. Very soon we'll be selling the Pipercross filters too (ordered this week) ..

Steve - did the belt fit okay ?
-
No - the information on the form is purely for club use. There is no requirement to list any mods at all, if you don't want to..

Which car you buy & wether you get a "good one" or not will, to a certain extent, be down to luck. I've had my G60 for 2 years now, the only necessary repairs have been a supercharger rebuild & new waterpump. I have spent much more money & time modifying it.

Nope - not posted yet. I'm just trying to get hold of one for you. radodale I didn't get your PM - can you re-send it ?
-
fla, Best way to clean them is with a can of brake cleaner. It comes in an aerosol - you just spray it on & it disolves the dirt.
-
Sam - anybody would think you were a salesman..

I'll lock this one up then.. 8)

Jeez - I'd forgotten all about those TWR Rovers.. Was that the show at the NEC ?

Send me a PM with your address & I'll send an application form to you.

Removing the front sensors (without damaging them) can be extremely difficult. I had to burn mine out with a blowtorch. They were absoloutely solid & refused to come out by other methods. The problem with the front sensors is that they are mounted into bare metal (hub carier). This bare metal rusts inside the hole around the sensor, causing it to expand & squeeze the sensor very tightly. To re-fit the new ones, I had to drill-out the hole slightly so that I could get them in. Haven't done the rears so I'm not sure if they'll be subject to the same problem.

Maybe I'll be having a re-think about what I put in my G60, once it's back on the road. The sticker inside the fuel flap says "minimum 97 RON" & I've been using Optimax. I may try some of this BP Ultimate & Esso Supreme.

Simple answer - lift your car - there is no other soloution. After a few miles in it's current condition - your gearbox driveshaft seals will begin to leak.
-
As above..

Cheers Steve, I didn't realise - I'll have a chat with our VAG Product Manager & get that changed..

Powerflow will make a de-CAT pipe for you.

If the octane rating is based on percentages, how come some fuels have an octane rating in excess of 100 ?

The VR6 ones are a slightly different, much improved design & have seperate bearings. You're also likely to need the VR "top spring mounting plates" as these have a recessed bearing seat. Yes - they should also fit a MK2 Golf..

Certainly from an insurance perspective - an unmodified car would be much beter & cheaper. Many insurance companies do not like modified cars & some will increase their quotes quite considerably. As for the quality of the modifications - that will depend entirely on each individual car. Some are bodged & some are done very professionally. Many of the forum users have well modified cars & many have very good quality standard spec ones. Whichever car you decide to buy - I'm sure somebody from the forum would be willing to have a look at it with you.

I wonder if they'd make some more ?
-
There is only 1 pipe that feeds the MFA .. You mean a vacuum leak somewhere else in the system ?
-
Agreed - front arch & front wheel combination looks a bit silly.

Tightening torque setting = as tight as you can with a 2ft breaker bar.
-
Just stick some VR top mounts on the front & the coilover's will fit okay
