You'll never get 17psi from a Jabba stage 4 :( ISV is a tubular thing right on top of the cam cover
-
Depends who's done the "stage 4". Some repairers do more work than others - with obvious implications on potential boost output. I doubt very much that you'll get 17psi from anybody's stage 4 - you NEED an R1 8) with enlarged inlet & outlet chambers. You can get a 1 way valve to attach to the ISV to stop any boost being wasted, although they're quite expensive (approx £75)

A Ferarri just blew up outside my uni house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stevemac replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
Only Ferrari I've seen & liked was that old 308 (think it was a 308 anyway) that Magnum used to drive. Have to repaint it black though - I hate red cars :? -
Mine runs around 116 degrees once warmed up. Slightly modified 8) - although I don't think that made any difference at all to the oil temps. I doubt boost levels, etc will make any difference whatsoever to the oil temp

Sounds more like a 1.8-16v problem from what you describe (k-jetronic injection) - u sure you have a 2.0-16v ?? Anyway - if this problem was on a 1.8-16v then the fuel metering head (fuel distributor) may be blocked, or the central plunger may be sticking or possibly an air leak - causing the airflow meter to give false readings. I must have been drugged when I bought mine. :( It was the excitement of being in a garage where the I thought the staff knew what they were doing - "act in haste & repent at leisure" is a phrase which springs to mind.
-
I disagree. They use a heatshield made from the best heat insulating metal on the planet - £150 is an absoloute bargain.

Nice looking car m8, great paintwork - what mods have you got planned ??

Only if nobody else bids in the auction. :? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMO - anybody who spends 3.5k on a numberplate should be in an asylum.

Anybody else on here used them before ?? I won't add garages to the "reccommended" section (which I assume is what you are wanting) unless they are reccommended by more than 1 forum user. Each of the garages in the "reccommended" section is there because several forum users have had good experiences/deals with them.

What model you got ??

Faulty thermostat ?? When your engine gets really hot, as you've described, does the radiator get hot or does it stay fairly cool ?? If the radiator stays fairly cool to touch then you have a faulty thermostat. Thermostat may have originally stuck open - cool running. Now it may have stuck shut, stopping the circulation through the radiator, hence hot running.

They will only stick out 1/2 inch more if they have the same ET. ET is the distance from the center of the wheel to the mounting surface on the wheel. If that's the case, I stand corrected.. 8.5j ET30 wheels will be very close to the suspension legs
-
The ET rating is the indication of how close to the shockers & inner wings the wheels will fit. It is a measurement of where the inner wheel edge sits in relation to the wheel hub. The extra wheel width will be added to the distance that the rims will stick out. E.g. 8.5j rims will stick out 1 inch further than 7.5j ones will. 205/40R17 tyres will not catch the suspension, 215/40R17's will be close & might or might not catch. I would suggest using coilovers so that you can adjust the height of the suspension to your liking.

/notes Steve's pulling technique  never mind the quality - feel the width

As you can see from this list (taken from Maplin's site), there are a fair amount of different crossovers available. Virtually all Maplins stores have a ICE specialist working there - this person will be able to advise you which would suit your individual needs & speakers. The main enemy of speakers is distortion - incorrect frequencies fed into a speaker will increase distortion & shorten the lifespan of the speaker voice coils

Have you phoned Maplins ?? Have you asked Huets if they can help ??

Yeah - that's the one...

Only with Landrover suspension or wheelarch mods.. My 7.5x17's with 205/40WR17 tyres catch on both the inner & outer rear wheelarches - maybe my car's just too low.. :?

They're made by Jetex, if that helps. http://jetex.co.uk/Jetexwebsite/index2.html
-
G60Dan, your's is a lot cleaner than mine   I'll see if I can measure it before I go home tonight, you need length or diameter or both ?
-
Phone your local branch of Maplins or your local in-car-entertainment suppliers & give them the details of what speakers you have - info sticker will be on the back of the speakers & on the box if you have it. Crossovers are not universal things, they should usually be tailored to fit the speakers. Front door component speakers usually consist of a tweeter & mid bass driver. These will usually be okay with just a "high pass" filter instead of a "crossover". The mid bass takes the full range & the high frequencies are filtered into the tweeter.

Double posting deleted - which section do you want it moving to ?? Crossovers will be available from Maplins http://www.maplin.co.uk/ HTH
