Nice one 8) Mine gets a good thrashing too. I just go to the "hand car wash" here in Leeds a couple of times a month to keep it clean.

Good to see everybody again - feels a bit like the first event of the year. I was a bit slow with the mugs though - I had a second cup of tea in the same mug (fool). I should have had another 3 cups of tea in different mugs & then I'd have a set of 4 at home now.. Looks like my car's burning oil too :( - I wondered where it was all going..
-
Yeah Jim's on here...somewhere

Correct timing advance for a G60 (PG) engine is 6 degrees, plus or minus 1 degree. In other words - anywhere between 5 and 7 degrees. Without the correct test equipment, it's a case of trial & error until you get it right. :? Best thing to do is follow H100VW's advice Higher octane fuel enables more advance but the optimum setting will depend on how the car is setup & exact octane rating of the fuel used.

This is one mod which I can fully reccommend, Lupo GTI wipers are great. Only thing to bear in mind is that they place more pressure on the windscreen than the Corrado wipers. This will highlight any existing worn wiper motor & worn linkage problems. So long as your existing setup is okay then the wipers will work great.

Thats the one - I've got one in my glovebox at the moment, hopefully I'll get around to fitting it before my old one snaps. I think you'll need to fit the big washer with it too

I bought my G60 last April & spent a further 3.5k on it over the following 8 months !! Car has done approx 8000miles since I bought it. That figure does not include insurance, tax or fuel.

These torch keys are readily available from VW dealers. I think my last one was around £13 (3 months ago).

Tailgate definitely has but I'm not sure about the doors bacause I don't have a key for them :?

The noise that you are getting will be from the engine itself, hence the reason why air filters are occasionally refered to as "muffler filters". Engine noise is supressed by the air filtration system & exhaust system. If either of these are partially removed then noise levels will increase. Example : My G60 has a cone induction kit with no housing at all except for a nice shiny heatshield 8) . Below around 3k the engine has a nice throaty sound, above 3k and the car sounds like a WW2 Spitfire getting ready for takeoff :D
