  1. Ay, don't knock the fatties mate! LOL, I've been with a few and enjoyed it more than some of the fitties! LOL. Good joke tho!
  2. Yea, I recently bought a flat, hence the reason I'm tinkering with the idea of selling the VR, I went to northampton to see some old uni mates a few years back, seem to remember getting completley slaughtered at some cheesey £20 all in club. lol
  3. There all girls, my VR is more of a sexy beast who demands a bit of respect, where as your run of the mill 1.1 Fiesta is more of a girl you don't really like but just use. LOL. Sometimes you put a lot of effort in and it doesn't pay off, other times you do nothing and she never lets you down.
  4. Wasn't aimed at you of course! I used to actually quite enjoy reading some of there stuff. So you own a CTR and a G60?? alright for some ay!
  5. CTR forum! thats a blast from the past! are those guys still banging on about beating M3's!?? LOOOOOOOOOL
  6. Ahaha! it's a good one tho! bit different to your usual nice car/fit bird one you often see.
  7. You should be able to get a G60 pushing 200bhp for that kind of money, just make sure it's been serviced properly, and like was said, budget for new suspension/brakes if it has been uprated, my VR handles well but it would handle much better if it had new suspension as it's done 141k, and the brakes ain't too sharp as standard!
  8. probably why most Audi buyers like them tho, it just goes about it's business discreetly.
  9. I think the 3 door ZX looks alright, prob better than a 5 door mk3 golf. So Billinjahg60- Aldi/Asda maybe gettnig a visit soon ay! I think doing it 50/50 with the oil/diesel seems the best option, otherwise I think a few eyebrows may be raised if i start buying 15 gallons a week! LOL.
  10. Yea, I wnt in the td zx and I thought it was quite good, electrics prob would of been my thoughts of things going wrong but it was quick enough considering it does 50mpg.
  11. Am I the only one that thinks the 3 door mk2 focus looksgood? and it has VVT or fords version of that. I dont like the look of any of the 5 door hatches tho
  12. Yea, i've gone off the ka a bit, just like the coded bumper version and the wheel at each corner look, I remember borrowing one for 2 weeks and I swear I had over 110 out of it on the m23! LOL! took about 30 seconds of foot to the floor in 5th gear tho. I seem to remember the gear change was a bit like porridge too.
  13. yea, you know an rs when you see one, and there all imperial blue. obviously because this focus mk2 is an st tey have made it a tad less all out but apparently it's been lapping the nurburgrung 10secs quicker than the rs!
  14. Argh so it has to be used, bit embarassing going down the chippie "err, do you have about 10 gallons of used oil knocking about by any chance?" lol I heard of it, but new you had to add something, like you said. I was half thinking about a 205 TD but heard its only 45mpg anyway so no better than a petrol 1.2/1.3, and the diesel cost about 20p a gallon more. Think if i get a diesel my preference would be a golf mk3 tdi and quite like that 2 door zx td.
  15. Very true, haven't all cars come down in price tho? I think it will sell well, and it's turbo so much more tuneable than a VR, still might be worth holding out for the Focus ST tho.
  16. yea, don't really care about style to be honest, I quite like the idea of not being notcied unlike in the Corrado where everyone seems to look at you quite often. I'm very intrigued about this 205 td, so if i got one and went to asda and bought a load of sunflower oil, you think it would actually run ok? lol, brilliant!
  17. Personally, i think it looks better than the gti and the quality seems to be getting better, it's ott, which ain't necessarily bad, needs remapping to 280ish bhp tho, lol. People don't seem to have too many probs with the Leon R at 265 bhp on 18's and the Astra chassis, supposedly tuned by Lotus should be better.
  18. cool, actually done my rocker gasket at a garage for my VR recently-the gasket was £10 at vw and it cost me £25 at a garage so not too bad. Have also driven the Yaris vvt-i very nice, just a bit out of my price range.
  19. I'm not convinced the gti is better than the Astra VXR on a track, but as an every day tool, I'd get the gti, well actually I'd probably get the A3, lol.
  20. So how do you adjust the valve clearences? or perhaps more imortantly, how much would it cost? Was thinking about the VTI but need something econoical, ie 45mpg for all this driving. I've kind of done the hot hatch thing with my 205 1.9 and golf mk2 gti 16v.
  21. Good question, my initial thought is you pay atleast a couple of grand for that VW badge but Audi is supposed to be above VW so why the A3 2.0T is cheaper has got me, is the A3 the 3 door version? It's essentially the same platform anyway. My guess is VW know there is a fair demand for the gti, hence they can charge a high price. Well it is £1k more than the Astra VXR which seems to be trouncing it in all the reviews.
  22. Still not sure yet, but think I might trade the old girl in for something cheaper to run. My top 2 at the moment are 1)Toyota starlet 1.3 16v 2)Ford KA (colour coded) I have driven the ford before and quite liked it but the engine's slightly noisey, have heard the Toyota has a great little engine although expect the handling not as good as the Ford, has anyone driven this Starlet?? And which would you get? I know about Punto/Clio/Corsa etc but not really keen on them right now.
  23. God yea, like the medievel times, I'm just grateful that Im fit and healthy to be honest! I don't want much out of life, well, except a mansion and about 100 acres, not much then, LOL.
  24. Probably ever so slightly, I'd probably go for them tho because it should make the ride slightly better, we're only talking about 5mm here.
  25. I think we do live in one of the best countries in the world, people often forget, London is an amazing city, but I would say there are probably half a dozen or so with a higher standard of living then us, now that doesn't necessarily mean Im going to pack my bags right now. People always tend to be nostalgic about the past, you know "the good old days." The main issue that I am sensing tho, is not the amount we get tax'd people are happy to pay high tax for a high standard, but people often feel they have been ripped off a little and there is a "can do better" feeling towards the government.
