well done, im actually on 142k so u need to catch up!! young whipper snapper! lol, my VR runs as smooth as ever, pulls like a train, but most of my miles is done at 3.5k on the motorway
-
yep, plus you prob need to know some farmers or site managers.....
-
yea, I saw that on msn too, looks like they've completley ruined it.
-
theres practically 0% chance getting stopped in a car on red diesel, they only tend to stop transits and the like, i know guys been doing it for donkeys years, but yea, i suppose IF it did happen, they certainly wouldnt be happy, lol
-
yea mine is defo 15gallon, infact all VR's must be because VR's only came out in 92?
-
haha, these people actually think you have to be rich to buy a C! well maybe to run a VR/G60! LOL. :)
-
Ay, even with all the probs it has, it still takes your mind off other mundane things! LOL. In my company car park, I am just about the only person without a company car, and the VR does stand out a bit, can't say I've had any offers to buy mine, I would only accept if it was a good offer tho...
-
I always thought that, mine is a kreg vr, so does it have 15 gallon tank?? for some reason, you can never put as much petrol in as is quoted in the book...
-
well, was £47 [email protected]@ASDA, and the fuel gauge was well into the last bar of fuel! which means filling up with optimax, should be approaching £70! LOL.
-
HA HA! I fear you are exactley right Chris, I don't buy this wishy washy argument that Blair gives, the Paxman iterview was very funny! British intelligence is supposedly about the best in the world, they must of known Saddam didn't have nuclear war heads, but of course the fact they are sitting on billions pounds worth of oil speaks for itself. And if thats the argument he is going along with with regard to bombing a country, what about Taiwan and China! surely on that basis they must be classed as a bigger threat. And anyway, bombing the fcuk out of a country because they have war heads is hardly setting an example now!

What will probably happen is there will be a big fuss made and hoo ha like last time, petrol companies (not gov!) will bring down the prices by 3p a litre, then put it up by 4p a litre the next month! LOL
-
Yes yes, So Alex, how much does he want for this little flying machine?? Everything has it's price, lol
-
Hey guys, I asked myself the very same question, but trust me, I shi* you not, my VR was running so bad it would hardly even accelerate, changed the £10 rocker gasket and hey presto, she flies! I was however, having a similar problem a couple of months ago, but it was down to the dizzy cap and rotor arm being all seized up with gunk, so I changed them, new leads, plugs and all filters and again, it was fine, guess I was lucky on that side...
-
Hey, I know. I gues technically speaking, it is possible with some petrols, if you get say a Toyota Aygo which does 61mpg, prob not as fun tho.
-
I have often wondered the same thing about you guys with charged VR's with out wanting to get my pipe n slippers out. Wasn't all this 225bhp=max bhp for fwd quoted by that Saab dude in like the 1970's anyway? now we have, tc, and lsd to help and hot hactches are coming with 18/19 alloys so don't really see the problem too much. Haven't heard too many complaints from some guys with 280+bhp Leons any way.
-
oh good, can we have another petrol vs diesel debate?? pleeeease. LOL. I'll start it off- Damn, stinky, smelly tractor boys! why don't you go and live in Russia! (only kidding btw, I know it's only really you Jim with the derv)
-
cool, maybe see if we can get a few of those ctr and tegra boys involved, then see what the fords forum are saying, sod it, invite everyone and see where we are then?? 8)
-
Ha, I will verify later but I'm sure there is a BP/Shell Optimax/Ultimate knocking it out for about £102.9 a litre in London, M3/M4 is usually pretty expensive, as is clacket lane. Hey, when it costs around £48 to fill up your VR at ASDA you know this is serious! LOL. This means that at £1 a litre, it will cost over £60 to fill up a VR! LOL.
-
Depends really on the general condition of the engine, how many miles it has done, how hard it has been driven and how it has been serviced too. Eventually, I think if you leave it long enough, the oil, again depending what kind of oil viscosity, should really be Synta Silver tho, may seep down. I can only tell you of my personal experience of my VR and this is what happened, so it isn't a definitive answer as such.
-
I had exact same kind of problem, but you can't always clearly see oil leaking from outside the cylinder head, you may see more to the right of the block, if you go real close and look to where the gasket is? But if it is the rocker gasket, which I hope it is, your VR should be running really rough, and you say it isn't which makes me think it is something more serious.... Could maybe ber worn valve seals??
-
Yea, that was me over at the stone circle in glastonbury on the bongos! HAHAHA!
-
Hey guys, it's all banter, no prob with that, no personal or nasty comments were flying around. It's all love! LOL, Hippy style!
-
Gees, 6k euros!!! LMAO! sorry, but that is serious, even for a G60, persevere tho, you've come this far, and like you say, I bet there aren't many out there ay!!
-
yep, very lightly indeed, I spent £1,500 on mine with a month of getting the damn thing!!! now I think to myself, why should I let someone else get a bargain after I've just spent shi* loads on it!! LOL. most the things you mentioned shouldn't be tooo pricey! (he says, lol) Do yourself a favour tho and get some new suspension, brakes and decent tyres gsf car parts and mytyres, it is a sporty car remember so no point buying the cheapest tyres you can find.
-
I think you are right, but no doubt, there would be a way to shoe horn it in. Was it a charged VR you heard? that would sound pretty special, especially if it had the zorst & filter done, maybe put on a d/valve for added effect! LOL. Can you not buy VR's in u.s tho? surely it would be more cost effective to just sell your g60 and buy a VR?? The VR g/box is taller so up to your driving style, I guess if your purely after acceleration you might want to keep the g60 one, but will be difficult to get the power down up to 3rd gear I would of thought.
