Your mate might want to consider a re-map for his 180? now that he has been humbled by an old car! 8)
-
Brilliant, well done, haha, wouldn't you be gutted if you got smoked by a 12+ year old car? well thats how old my VR is anyway.
-
seems most modern cars are engineered out the word 'fun', and replaced it with the word 'safety' and 'comfort' LOL, and of course big bhp doesn not equal big fun. My 130bhp 205 1.9 was the most fun car I ever owned.
-
well they certainly ain't that good! not as long geared as a VR, not sure the 16v would be that much better, very little in it depending on how you drove it of course. Don't let that put you off tho.
-
Holy moly! you spent £20k on that thing! wow, I'm impressed.
-
Haha, didn't think about that the RS4is n/a 4.2 V8 tho as apparently Audi aren't going down the non FI route. Should still be a good match for the next V8 M3 (400+bhp) tho. On the other scale, this TSI engine in the polo would be very interesting too.
-
Any news on VW bringing on a more 'enthusiast' style golf? in light of the VXR and forthcoming CTR. Or maybe they will just leave that for SEAT. And what news of the next S3? will it be a twin charged 2.0?
-
My VR is more efficient then my old mk2 8v GTI! and probably by about 5mpg on a run.
-
So what you are saying is that this baby will pull like a diesel from 1,500 rpm, but unlike a diesel, it will keep going to 6K+ rpm? Isnt the mk5 gti supposed to have a very similar torque curve tho?
-
2K, is he on drugs? LOL, he can have my VR and swap with me if he gives me 2k.
-
wow, sounds very interesting, but will you still lose top end from the supercharger? I was beginning to think VAG might be slipping a bit in the old engine department with petrols, perhaps they have redeemed themselves? 8)
-
Looks very nice, what Corrado you got? maybe the golfs worth abuot £1k? Lovely scenery too! where was the pic taken?
-
seems to be a problem on just about every new car (dead steering that is) I think it's the only area where the MK2 Focus has been criticised.
-
Is it twin supercharged? Looks like a great car, didn't someone else post something similar on here about this car? Turbo petrol cars with vvt or fsi seems to be the way forward, nice and tuneable too. Would be nice to see that car going around, without the gt badge and suprising a few people. So they are bringing out the 168TDI in the golf then? Surely this means that Seat will be producing an even more powerful version in the the Leon/Ibiza!? 180+bhp!? Should be very easily achievable, and will silence Toyota with there D4D CAT or what ever they are calling it due to be out soon.
-
This is strange. The general consensus on this forum (regarding corrado's) is that it is best to fit poly bushes only if you have uprated the springs and dampers, otherwise it just makes the vibrations of the road more obvious. Can anyone clarify this? and maybe it's just a Corrado thing then? A4 TDI 140 sounds lovely but you'll pay for it. Sounds like you drove the 110bhp TDI Bora too, it's the 5 speed non pd one and not nearly as good as the 130/150 from what I can gather.
-
That's funny, because some people on the mk4 forum have commented how they prefer the handling to a mk4. Each to there own tho. Still, most cars leave you a bit numb and detached after driving the C. But I think saysomestuff is looking for more of a cruiser so maybe handling and feel is less of a priority? What tdi bora did you drive?
-
Haven't driven the Bora but only heard good things, it's funny, when it first came out, I wasn't very keen on it, but I prefer it to a mk4 golf now. I wouldn't go near the selespeed if you can avoid it. I guess it comes down to cash, there are some cracking deals on the 156 2.4 JTD, it looks the best by far too, and Angel Tuning remap it with very good results indeed if you wan't even more poke out of it. When I was driving the passat 130 tdi auto, used to get about 43mpg out of it on a trip.

very true, without the CHAV who would we have to mock? and make fun of. According to that chav town web site, Croydon is number one, well, I'm not so sure, granted, it has a very high yield of general scum bags but I think you have to venture further afield to experience the true essence of the quintessential CHAV culture. The truth is, there are too many towns competing for the title so it would be a very close contest.

I'm very disappointed! LOL, I've probably had about 5 bangers, all disposable cars, but the great thing is, it just meant I could get the NCB and get the VR quicker. I think I will probably revert back to a banger for a while tho, until I get my next toy!
-
oh yea! LOL, I'm going to get myself another banger soon, there brilliant really, if it breaks down, I will prob leave it at the side of the road! hahaha
-
even the fiest RST's aint all that quick after 60 tho.The problem with these characters is that they won't progress onto much better cars becuase they waste all there money putting 18s and all that crap on 1.2's! We've all had bangers, it's part of the fun.
-
what about bump stops? if there worn, will it cause the car to bounce a bit? hey the roads everywhere in England seem to be mash up! LOL
-
only been in the Kompressor, but ride quality is top notch, probably the best out there even. Dont rule out the 156, I think x reg would give you a 150bhp 2.4 JTD, there nice cars alright. I have also used a passat 130 tdi auto for motorway munching and its also a very good tool.
-
Bless them! they do look ridiculous and its the fact that they obviously think it looks good, or even that other people think it looks good! They really do love wasting there cash these guys...
-
great! what revs are you changing gear in those vids?
