  1. Looks like a scene from Star Wars.
  2. theRuler, Exactly the same on our Bora (after spending many an hour checking the main switch).
  3. I got a stone chip on my windscreen less than 10mm in diameter and was just finding out about repairing it (free on insurance). Washed the car and next day pulled out of the garage to find a 12 inch crack instead. Floppy disks..! So new windsceen it was, £60. Not too bad I suppose, but acting a bit quicker could have saved the hassle. The guy at AutoGlass said that they're a right git to fit. Did a good job though.
  4. Got 35mpg last night on a run from Wath Upon Dearn to Worksop (about 25 miles) not driving too grannyish at all. I'm happy with that..! :D
  5. How much did she go for if you don't mind me asking? What's the spec. and milage? Looks great in that colour.
  6. Wheels look great. Car looks great as well but IMO could do with some shaping at the back end to slacken of the boot and maybe chuck in an adjustable spoiler or something.
  7. I think half of them are modded vacuum cleaners. Some still have the hoses attached.
  8. He was lucky..! I gave up with my claim of similar bent wheel and 'egged' tyre after months of too-ing ad fro-ing. They filled the hole up rather sharpish though. :x
  9. Good on ya Chris..! The VR IS a fantastic motor and I love it, but like you, I still have very fond memories of my red 1990 16v which I had 9 years. No reason why the VR shouldn't surpass that. Cheers :D
  10. My ABS light used to come on and stay on when the car was cold. After restarting when warm it seemed to work fine so I thought it could be the old dirty/faulty sensor. How wrong could I be..! Turned out the problem was the main ABS unit itself retailing at £1500 from the main stealers....!!! :!: Got one second hand from a VW breakers for £75 (worth a risk I thought) and works fine. Just be careful before spending silly money
  11. I presume some of you guys have seen this one? I like the look, it's got some good old corrado characteristics kept on it. http://www.eurotuned.com/vw/new_corrado.htm
  12. You're right, it's great.... Double joy when you've just washed it, drives a lot better then. :D
  13. Last time I took my old 16v to the dealers for a repair they more or less hid my car round the corner until I collected because I'm sure they thought that it clashed too much with all their black and silver Golfs on the forecourt. I could almost hear them thinking, "And don't bring that old banger back to our premises..!" (not that it was shoddy at all by the way)
  14. Leave it In the garage, just use an incredibley long connecting lead! But really, what about a bracket under the shelf passenger side..?
  15. That is such a smart lookiing car mate. For me, with that gleaming paint job it'll hold it's own with any new motor on the road today. I bet you are well and truly chuffed with the result. 8)
  16. I agree with VR6, on that one. I've noticed that it does this on mine (without mod). Does the headlight modification improve both full and dipped beam? I thought it was only dipped. :?:
  17. I bet it wouldn't stand up to a front end collision very well without the strength of the roof.
  18. Looks like it to me. Excellent looker whatever the origin, but certainly Mk 1 tendancies 8)
  19. Will you be joining a different forum now? The VR is a tough act to follow (especially looking at yours), I hope you're not disappointed. :( I'm sure you won't be  Good luck. Dave
  20. Looks like a jelly mould. Good car inside though.
  21. I think the vehicle in front is towing the chav mobile :!:
  22. 290 or 469. Very smart. I sort of agree with . I think 5 spoke do work with a C but 7 work better IMO 8)
