by the sounds of it you will need: lambda probe, blue and black water temp sensors probably oil pressure switches CO pot for the intercooler pipe
-
they look too good to actually be used!!

ive got a G60 loom for sale if u want one mate. no ECU, just the engine loom
-
sunny norfolk near Norwich
-
surely if you knew what you were doing then you wouldnt need to ask about locking the crank in place as you would just set the engine up for TDC before refitting the head?
-
the relays are a couple of quid from any electrical place. they are 40A 12V DC automotive relays. i wouldnt borrow one from another part of your car as it could all end in disaster!!
-
thats why my battery light stays on until i blip the throttle!!! i get it now! sounds like the voltage regulator, this happened to me. £10 later from gsf and away we go
-
i always take the front end off and pull the engine out on a jack. if not, push the car back from the engine
-
just out of interest, does anyone know what a mk1 polo is worth? ive been offered one with low miles on an S reg i think (old S) and should be in fairly good nick. im not into this sort of car as such and see this as more of an investment. any info is much appreciated cheers Rob
-
this happened to me last week. th relay failed on the main beam side of the uprated loom. just swap the relays over on the loom and then the full beam should work and the dipped beam wont. just plug in a new 40A relay and bobs your uncle Rob

well done mate, hopefully all will be cured now if you get it timed up! i hope mine is cured now aswell, all seems to be going good after changing the oil pump touch wood
-
keep going mate, i know how you feel. but it WILL be worth the effort. tell them to get the behind into gear and fix the fooking engine!!! im only running in but the grin factor is still high! Rob
-
got it running, touch wood!
-
ive got changing the oil pump down to 1 hour!! not bad going as i dont have a set of ramps i think!the proof will be in the mornin if she starts. just started to gently apply some boost tonight :shocked!: goes like a rocket!! Rob
-
that is a good call my man, will fit a new pump asap!! it does sound like a feasable option Rob

so far ive changed the blue temp sensor, ECU relay, starter motor, dizzy, cap rotor arm and alas, she still doesnt want to play! when i can eventually get it started, by turning it over for about half an hour, it runs fine and will be sweet for the rest of the day. ran alot better yesterday after changing the dizzy but this morning it fired up once then died, then flat starting tone again. cant figure this one out!!! Rob

ive got a very similar problem and it typically does it when its cold. which relay is the ecu relay? Rob
-
ok, changed the ISV, blue temp sensor and starter motor today and still no result! when i turn the engine over it just makes a flat tone with no attempt to fire. i know i have spark and fuel. i need to know what voltage is sent to the blue temp sensor, i get 5V to ground on the feed and 5V across the 2 pins when the ignition is on. im really miffed now and if i had any hair i would be pulling out!! someone please help me!! Rob

top man. got it going last night but im not convinced ive found a definitive problem yet. will have a good look today Rob
-
i had mine polished back to bare metal, cant have any problems with paint flaking off like that!!
-
ive put a new one in there, and still no joy. will try another in hope of it being a duff sensor. although im thinking it could be the cabling stupid intermittant faults! Rob
-
bit of an intermittant one really, sometimes the car will start sweet as, but sometimes, like this morning, it would fire once then die. after this it wont even try to fire, will just turn over with a flat sound. in ignition, the isv makes a very loud buzzing and this dissappears when you disconnect the blue temp sensor. ive tried changing the blue temp sensor and swapping the plug over to the black one, but no joy. what voltage should there be at the plug for the blue temp sensor? what is the resistance across the ISV when its disconnected? this is a stupid little problem, especially after my rebuild, but it means the car wont start all the time which is just as bad!! when it get going its good as gold!! cheers Rob

i just got my rocker cover polished up so i dont have to worry about any paint cracking, just about greasy fingers everywhere :bad-words:
