get a bigger intercooler and change the exhaust. a stainless system will flow better than the original system. bigger injectors will allow for more power but wont give you more on their own. get a flowed head, that will make a nice difference. bigger cam will also free up a bit more power. all depends on how much you want to spend, how much power you want and how much effort you want to put in

after repairing my G60 i started it up and it reved to about 2500rpm then slowly died down. it also is a bit reluctant to drop the revs when i dip the clutch. any ideas anyone? and has anyone had any problems with windage trays leaking? i cant seem to stop my car dropping oil everywhere, its crazing me!! but on a lighter note, it will all be mystic blue by the time i come back from worthersee i hope!! thanks in advance Rob

nah the deer was mullered!!! i couldnt even pull it out it was that bad!! lol its put me right off venison though!! i know i was very lucky. im glad no one was in the car with me, couldnt have lived with hurting anyone. thats why im not all that devastated cos at the end of the day, its only metal

broke every bone in its body!! good job aswell, i would have been annoyed if it was still alive!!! found its intestines on the gearbox, wasnt all that good!! its done a lot of damage, bonnet, bumper, wing, intercooler, rad, battery etc what a chore, only had it on the road for about a month aswell after the engine gave up!!

answers on a postcard to.... :lol: could have been worse, 10 secs earlier i was testing the top end of my new engine, so i hit it at a fair rate!! need a new intercooler now though, bit annoyed cos ill never get another rallye intercooler for £60!!! got another rado coming for engine to go in all being well. could have been worse, its only a bit of metal!! just dont think the car liked me!!!

the volve T5 intercooler does not fit easily into a corrado as its too high. the end caps are alse mado of plastic so arent really all that good in my opinion

if your guage says its ok dont worry about it. the pressure switches are pretty useless anyway. and 12 year old wiring wont be all that cracking after its been covered in oil and crap from your engine!!

what sort of power is your car kicking out mate? looks like you got a mega spec, bet that bloody flies 8)[/quote:67c5b] its probably kicking out about 230/240 at the moment but it is just running on a safe map at the moment. will be going down for the custom map sometime with Darren, just glad to have it on the road at the moment!! it goes fairly, 1st and 2nd are pretty much a waste of time now, 3rd gear is where its at!! was running 15.7 last year at pod with 11psi, now running new engine and rebuilt charger :twisted:

sounds like the times were ok. the headwind was awesome yesterday!! shame the weather was so crap, in the summer you will get some better times. i can guarantee you will be back!!

my mates VR was doing 15.7 last time we raced. my G60 was doing the same times before the new engine

rallye intercooler goes straight in apart from removing the towing eye

i think you will need to take the head off and inspect the bores and pistons first. it sounds like you will need at least a rebuild. keeping and 8V will be cheaper to sort out than say a VR if you go for an engine swap/ if you want to go down the turbo route then you will need to strenghen the bottom end anyway, so a rebuild will be the first thing. when mine blew i found exactly what was damaged then set about sorting out what i wanted to do. my advice is to get the engine to a stage where it wont be the weak link, then worry about what sort of forced induction you want

i have a rallye intercooler which doesnt need any work on any metalwork apart from the towing eye which has to be removed. not sure how it would work with the VR6 radiator though as its slightly longer i think.
