shame about the cam, keep trying, got to be worth it if it works out!. and personally, i wouldnt go past 6.5krpm at any time(i never get to redline, it sounds far to scary!), normal gear change whilst pushing it would be just under 6k for me. i have to keep reminding myself the old girl has done near 160k miles, so the way i drive now, i kinda think im pushing her as it is. i know im planning on changing the engine soon anyway, but it doesnt mean i have to blow this one first. btw, was it an old mini or new?... remember C's aren't the best off the line, and the original mini's can really shift some... they dont weigh anything!, so up to 50 i would imagine a decent old mini would stick with you, but after that, at high revs... that 9a really should start laughing at ALOT of things on the road... also remember most importantly as stated by matt above... this type of driving is stupid and dangerous, so you shouldn't even be finding out what your C can do tbh :wink: EDIT:: sorry mistrall just read the "old old mini" bit, i used to have a 1970's mini sport with a 1275 engine, mate, that thing really did shift...

thanks for the replies.. the reason i ask is, i found a nice chrome pipe which fits well, but is larger.so i wanted to know if i was going to damage anything by fitting it. seems to work ok, but didnt want to keep it on if was causing unseen probs.

just wondering, the plastic pipe that goes to the isv across the manifold (dont know what it actually does) what would happen if you replaced it with a larger diameter pipe? please help put an end to my curiosity :D Andy.

read a letter about this last year, thought it was pathetic then, didnt expect them to carry it on!... one of the reasons to close the circuit from the list was "its the smallest circuit in the country".... holding that in mind, if you close the track, surely the next smallest one will default to the smallest... and then you would have to close that one! and then the next.... and so on, you get the drift. daft point i know!! but i just thought i would act as stuuupid as the huggers. this is my local circuit. and the ONLY circuit anywhere near me.. (and im sure alot of other ppl) and im VERY ANGRY about this. rant over :mad:

i think azev A's (second ones down) are goooorgeous... but for this car, i would imaginethe top ones to look best. imo of course :D

if it has the same effect as with the 1.8 (i imagine so, but not 100% tbh) then it will increase power, but pushes it further UP the rev range. so if its more low down power your after, this wont be for you!. i wanted more power at low revs for my C, and so decided against a 50mm inlet for this reason. hope this helps :D ..Andy p.s if im wrong, call me names and tell me to shut up!!
