What is it that makes them expensive to run g-man? Do bits on them just break and need constant attention to keep them running as they should? If that's the case then i think i'll give the ralley a miss as a Corrado is bad enough! Come on guys, the Corrado is a great car but when things need repairing every so often you loose a little bit of love for it each time.

Just wondering as seen a few for sale etc. Always liked the look of them. If i swapped or sold my Corrado (VR6) and got one would i miss the C. Is the C a far superior car? Are they riddled with pain in the but problems, hard to get parts etc. For example prone to rust, windscreen fitters likely to do a shoddy job unless experienced? In my view they are such an unknown quanitiy - 0-60 times standard or fettled Perhaps there could be a car guide started for each model to help guide us folk who wonder when they get board with there current rides...
-
If its windscreen seal then its basically new windscreen fitted i believe and we all know what a bugger that can be. Only use a fitter that has experience with the Corrado screen or it pain, anguish and hassle time folks!!!

Ok then it's my turn but i'm going to be a pain and say the front and back DRIVERS SIDE footwells are soaked!!!!!!!!!!! Car not been driven since Sunday so i get in for a brake disc saving drive and oh i've got skweaky mat syndrome and my London AZ (£20) is soaked! Is it possible for these seals to be the culprit for it to leak this side? I had new tyres fitted two weekends ago and when i got in and closed the door it felt a bit funny like it had been jacked up with the door left open. The door didn't meet the striker bolt cleanly. When i got home the door opended and closed fine so i thought all is fine. Has this made the wind screen seal fail? Help would also be much appreciated here too.

Was changing my air filter to day - good job i did as i discovered a broken rubber part! I thought i was leaking oil and i've found the culprit - looks easy to fit another one thank god. So if anyone can help with part number etc or if anyone has a spare one that they wish to sell it would be a great help. Great isn't it when you spend 80 odd quid on a manual and.................. oh bugger! I hope and pray that VW have not discontinued yet another part! I know my vehicle is 10 years odd old but would an oil cooler aid in the preservation of associated rubber parts? Any help much appreciated -
Avoid CATS FOR CARS in Farnham Surrey, near the sports centre -when i first drove the car after the install the imobiliser cut in whilst driving along!!!!! This caused a fuel leak and buggered the G40 sensor. -they broke the heater controls whilst trying to sort the imobiliser problem out and denied any wrong doing -couldn't fix the problem, by this time i didn't want them touching my car anymore so i cut my loses and went else where. I believe spreading as much bad news about these bodgers is payback!

Sob Sob - central locking gone to sleep

Central locking sorted - there was some corrosion on the door switch that was mucking the alarm about - the alarm magician sorted it out -
1.4 with 170 bhp and decent fuel economy - the thinking mans choice i think? Lets just see what happens anyway and that my sources are true.....
-
I know of a Golf R36 to be unveiled soon after the R32 is unveiled. Volkswagen will also be developing a 1.4 with both a supercharger and turbo charger with approx 170bhp. All this recent engine development is making my vr seem rather dated. I'm sure others are tempted by a new R32 or R36 for that matter!

I have a german friend who is a car market analysts and he reckons that the corrado is the 'boy racer' car to have in germany. Old men drive 911's. Over here boy racers have shity Novas, Fiestas etc. Boy we are a classy country!

Oh bugger bugger bugger!!! Think i've been done
martyjmcfly replied to martyjmcfly's topic in General Car Chat
Cheers for the encouraging words guys. Thank you for the excellent pdf file Mr veeDuB_Rado - i'm clueing myself up now to some how wangle my way out if needed. beavis's little nutter G40 is a more than capable apponent. My C is standard apart from the exhaust and BMC but it is still fast and to see beavis's polo in front and me not gaining was a joy to behold (even though he hasn't got a glove box...and dashboard....and other stuff to make it look like a normal car. No offense beavis, just having a laugh. My only worry is this - a guy with a camera is stationary. He doesn't need to stop you and let you know, you just get a crappy letter in the post. Why would he pull up along side looking angry, writing stuff down and then follow me for a good 10 miles? He was really up my back side on roundabouts almost hitting me on the offside taking a much tighter corner as if he was trying to force me to speed. As beavis says if there is no camera evidence (god i hope there isn't) its his word against mine so if i go to court i won't deny being there but state that i was doing the speed limit. Yes - that's the end of that malarky, sorry beavis, but if your there next year and i've still got my license oh and my C i will be leaving well before or after you leave let me tell you. -

A lot of hope and a lot of praying this end too or its selling time for the C if my license is takewn away! Its just too much damn fun. Its such a damn good car - i've already got 6 points - i just can help myself!!! If there is anyone who is really clued up on police proceedures etc. on where i may stand on this one as its not simple - the guy didn't pull me over. I thought he was following me until a proper back up car could meet and for them to pull me over?? -
Just had an excellent day at the Fox public house in Patching just off the A27 near Arundel with the Sussex VW Club. On the way back however had a little bit of fun with a very fast little G40. We were probably doing 130 mph in parts!!! When i was stopped at a roundabout in a que of traffic a marked up Citroen van raced up along side. The sort that have a window on the side for the cameras to peep through - the copper was scribbling down on a bit of paper perhaps noting it was a male driving? The traffic started moving and he followed me for a good 20 mins (me keeping to the speed limit). I evetually turned off and he continued. He didn't stop me. To be honest he may have been up the back of me when i was going fast. I was having so much fun i didn't notice. Ha ha poop poop So there you have my little storey. Any advice guys - as i'm now very confused. Can i get done by this angry looking police white van man?

Its a Cobra 7928/26/HF - CAT 1; nice, solid and reliable so far! From what Randal has said i reckon that i'll have to call the alarm guy -
When setting the alarm with the key fob the central locking that was working has stopped. Its not the pump as when locking the car with the key all locks lock :) What do ya think has become disfunct so i can get a head start and how much for repair? Cheers guys

I also tried emailing Turn2 - so many times. In the end i just got abusive!!! I just couldn't help myself he he he!!!! I wanted the silver pipe look too but in the end just gave up and opted for the BMC carbon can. I does the same job and you dont have to remove/reposition the carbon canister. You can bend the ducting to feed from where the standard airbox does.

Which insurance company? I've only got 6 points guv
martyjmcfly replied to martyjmcfly's topic in Suppliers Forum
Cheers guys - i'll give them a whirl -
It's insurance renewal time for my VR again - oh bugger! Problem is i got another 3 points this afternoon. Unmarked Octavia VRS on the A331 near Farnborough. So i have 6 points, milltek stainless steel cat back and BMC CDA air filter, everything else is completely standard, i have 6 years no claims. I'm currently with Tescos. I think that with more than 3 points they tell you to look elsewhere? Please name a few that you are with or would recommend, i'm in the Corrado Club of Great Britain; perhaps some insurance companies will give discount? Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Hi all, the time has come to replace the sometimes slipping starter motor. I've tried my best to aquire info on the best approach but have failed due to non compliant bentley cd etc. Any info would be good i.e can you do it from the top or is it best from the bottom oooh errr. Is it something an muppet can do or should i get my mechanic to do. Cheers Martin

1000th person to say gutted for you!!! I would be crying for sure and smashing any chav c### regardless! Some amatures tried to nick mine couple of weeks back, set the alarm off, couldn't start it but nicked the number plates? In every town/city there are people who feel that they must steal from others because they feel hard done by. But why steal a sub 10 grand car and really f### hard working people off and take away people's pride and joy!!! As the C is becoming rarer and rarer each passing day we must all group together and develope an anti C theft method. Is it possible to let the police know of this increasing occurance of stolen C's ending up of ebay etc? Idears anyone?

I've seen an add for a set of Solitude wheels from a Mk 3 Golf VR6. Are these the same size as the ones that the Storm VR6 Corrado had fitted?

HELP - Number plates nicked and alarm had been triggered!!!!
martyjmcfly replied to martyjmcfly's topic in General Car Chat
I have never noticed the 10 second deadlock pump activating noise since i have owner the car and that has been nearly three years!!!! I will have a listen tomorrow. If it doesn't then can a standard VW garage or VW trained fitter (Chris Abbott in Blacknest) fix the problem or will they not know what to do, bugger something else up and charge me lots of wonger?
