Try sitting at 57MPH in the same size van and only cause it's twin wheel based you have to go slower...... on the motorway it's an absolute nightmare and very tedious. You pull out to overtake an Artic lorry and it takes about a minute to pass, and end up with a queue of cars behind wondering why you don't put your foot down. Dangerous on country roads too if someone is going 50MPH in front, your sitting there thinking you have the power but when you pull out the limiter kicks in and then your stuck half way through the overtake  The vans don't rev out with the limiter on them as it's wired up to the accelerator and gearbox, you can put foot to the floor and it will sit at 57MPH with normal revs. Only way to get it over 57MPH is to take it out of gear going downhill

We just had 5 vans in our fleet MOT'd and they all had to have limiters put on them to pass the MOT. When we enquired about why, they told us that new legislation went through on the 1st Jan. I got a new van in Jan before we knew this and all the other guys were laughing at me until there vans went for MOT  Don't understand why 76MPH either as this converts as 122KPH, just a thought tho that it's close to 70MPH

New legislation came out at the turn of the year, anything above 3.5ton is now limited to 90KPH (57MPH)
  4. double-6s, it's the way we talk...... Northern Ireland to the well spoken English  Think he has a Valver too.
  5. Check out clubgti.net, they hold monthly meets and will be doing some shows and rolling road days over the summer.
  6. I am the same, theres not another car I'd want to own at the min, but it also got me thinking that say in about 15 years time when the Corrado will be very scarce. Is there a car about today that you think you'd want to own as much..... I can't think of any with the same appeal ?
  7. Great info in this thread LowG, do you have an approx figure it would take to turbo a 16v. Say I was to find a low milage 2l block have it delivered to you for any work to be carried out, and then come and have it fitted. I have been thinking about this but reckon I will under cost or miss something important that I need. How long would the install take ? Thanks
  8. Welcome mate from another Carrick Raddo owner. Good to see another member from NI. Very lucky to be getting a C at 18, wouldnt mind catching up with you some time looks like a nice example.
  9. First i knew there was a Minichamps version. Minichamps do the best detailed models I have seen. Gone to do a bit of research :)
  10. Wow :shocked!: loved this Raddo anyway, but that engine bay is something else.
  11. Loving the stealth badge on the grill ;)
  12. Anyone else any opinions on the JVC head units, always used Alpine myself but from what NickVR6 says I could well be tempted by one of these?
  13. Yeah I just got my nice new VW LT46 with a huge turbo on it (158 BHP) This thing fairly takes of for a van, then you get to 57mph and the limiter kicks in  My boss played up the fact that it was 158 BHP but failed to tell me that limiters are compulsory as of the 1st jan :( Back on topic, we also have a Sprinter in our fleet and it has a Turbo the same as the VW vans.
  14. Seems like good info there, just gotta take some time and read it . Cheers
  15. I agree too and they throw the 3 points on just to make it not look to obvious
  16. Looks lovely mate and the best colour too ;)
  17. Pmsl @ this thread  No you did!!!! Did not!!!! Did too!!! I'm telling my mummy on you.... Chill out guys
  18. Only if it's a BMW driver, I could swear they're made to sign an agreement when they buy a BMW, that they have to promise to be arrogant, inconsiderate drivers who never wave when your courtious to them...... hence I've stop being courtious to BMW drivers..... f**king T**ts sorry rant over!!
  19. Tried 3 stores here in Northern Ireland and no luck, bought my set a while back for £59 so would have been passing them on :( Seen the New claybar kit today aswell, I was told it was £22 but it included 2 claybars and a nifty storage tub, quick detailer, a microfibre and some new wax product.
  20. I picked mine up for a Grand a few months back, high ish milage 147k, no mot (genuine reason), although I could tell it had been well looked after as it's very tidy and there is plenty of history. Only prob i've had so far is the starter motor. Anywhere between 1 - 2 k will pick you a good un if you buy sensibley.
  21. My first Valver came with Leccy windows, no sunroof, no central locking My current Valver has Manual windows, leccy sunroof and remote central locking. They are both 1990 models. On the early models I don't think VW new what was standard themselves.
  22. These are fully adjustable to your own preferance mtc R32, top quality piece of kit. Just need to get round to installing mine when I get a chance
  23. yep that too..... now I've got my confidence up, next is the engine conversion
  24. :thumb right: Got my starter motor finished today and the Raddo back up and running and the smile back on my face. And all with no garage fees :) Thanks for your help guys :D
