I had mine out for a 15min drive on Sunday and the amount of looks i got was amazing. It only cost me a grand a year ago when prices where apparently good and supposedly it's worth less now? Thing is if I had paid 20k for a TT or similar would I have got those looks? The Corrado is becoming rarer by the day and it will, as said before only be the good condition ones that fetch a true price. Whats knocking the prices down are petrolheads trying out the Raddo, deciding it's not for them and then looking to move on quickly and looking for a quick sale, either that or as we hear so often the dreaded no room for a baby syndrome  It's a rare car that not many people took to when it was launched, so why would there be a huge number of buyers now, when average Joe Bloggs doesnt even know what it is  The problem comes from owners looking a quick sale and trying to out do the next sale, too many up for sale at the mo thats granted but when the become rarer and the genuine owners who value their C's come to sell, you'll see the prices rise again................. hopefully

I reccomend you should feel ashamed of yourself, outbiding me by a £1 :bad-words:  I only stuck that bid in this morning before I went to work and thought they'd go for alot more. You certainly got a billy Bargin anyway

Ben, I emailed C&R about this and the reply I got was this.... I’m sorry but unfortunately that is the situation with the Corrado but not with the Golf 1 or 2 (not G60) as on those I can sell the drum brake model 4 line set and add the rear Golf 4 caliper conversion hoses. The problem is that for the Corrado alone I would have to keep another three Goodridge sets in stock and to cover the Golf 3, another 2 sets, that’s before you factor in converting to 288-mm calipers on both these, so another 5 sets to cover that area as well and I have shelves full of the different sets already. The thing Roy did forget is your Corrado forum 10% parts discount so that would help soften the blow. One other point, if you do want to order these, I need your chassis number as the length of the front hose changed in 1990. This was so I could get the G60 & MKIV hoses to uprgrade front and rear, but aparently I will be left over with hoses that I dont need as they can't split sets. I think the left over hoses where the rear ones :gag: Guess thats just the way it is, I have quoted your part numbers to a few places and they say they dont exsist

Sounds like a good date to get me motivated for, think I will try and aim for end of May MOT and if it's ready for June I'll have done better than expected
-
Certainly will mate! It'll need a good blast up the A1 to blow the cobwebs out! ;) So it would be rude not call by! How you getting on with yours?? Exhaust finally completley finished  just gathering up bits and pieces to upgrade my Brakes and do a few other small jobs, then mine will be going in for MOT too, going to try to get it moved up to the apartment so i can get working on it a bit more, so hopefully if you call by you can get a gander at mine too :)
-
Good to see this progressing again, when you get it MOT'd be sure to give me a bell and take her a run up the A1 so I can get a proper look and a bit of a chat, although I am sure there are a few others waiting in that queue before me

Not too sure about the pipe sizes but be aware that early valvers came with a differant hanger type. The early ones having a hook type hanger and late ones having a bar type hanger :) HTH

Big thanks to Chazrad for the 280mm brake discs, he had these in the post and at my door before I even got chance to make payment, a very efficent seller  Also to Voo51 paid quickly by cheque for a 50mm polished manifold i had, no problems with payment at all :D

I picked up a middle box a couple weeks ago for £50 never used  didn't realise what a bargin I got :D Edit: should've said it was from Ebay so you don't think there was a regular supply
-
Cheers Jon, I will be keeping the straight through pipe and replacing the middle box. Before I left it for today I had managed to get screwdriver wedged in between the pipes and gradually prising the two apart but it's taking time and I still don't know if this will help release the join on the top of the pipe. All the mounts have been released and there is still not enough play to work it free, it's like it's been welded on :bad-words: Guess I'll just have to get stuck in tomorrow again and hope it doesnt take to long, after all the Merseyside Derby is on at 4 :norty: As for Kwikfit, if I'd wanted to take the easy option I would of taken it to them in the first place
-
Hoping someone has some suggestions on how to seperate the middle box from the straight through pipe before it? I have mangage to remove the stubborn clamp that held the 2 together, but the two pipes are stuck fast!!! As I have got this far I managed to get the back box seperated from the middle box with a bit of playing about, but the middle box just won't budge. I have tried the mandatory hammer along with some plus gas to see if that would free it up, also run the engine for a bit to see if heat would do anything with the clamp removed but still no joy :brickwall: Anyone any other suggestions I could try? Thanks in advance :)

Just realised why no one writes wiki guides........... tbh this thread was the start of one, but instead of fine tuning the first comments members seem determined to prove they have more knowledge :cuckoo: isnt it better to pool the info and then we'd have a much more comprhensive wiki

I've just woken mine from just under a years hibernation, I have a van for work and general running about, so now i have got my enthusiasim back to get it back on the road, it will still only be used as a second car. I guess if i didnt have the option it would be used daily.
