Hi Colleague in work has got a problem with an 02 plate Audi A4. The air con works fine however releases a musty odour when used. This is apparant from startup and does not reduce when the car has warmed up. Anyone had any similar problems and what is the common fault? Also, a rough guestimate of cost to fix would be appreciated. Cheers Lippy

You can only go so fast through windy roads - my 2l valver has more than enough torque in 3rd and 4th to have a really good workout (as I found last night going past the Cat and Fiddle :D). In a straight line, its is pretty boggy to about 3k then the torque gives you a shunt. Would I swap one? Prob, but only for a 200 BHP+ motor. I am glad I didnt get a G60, little more hassle for only a "few" more BHP and ft/lbs (standard) and I would soon get bored and want to spend money to get it to 200 brake! And, I much prefer the later interior! If I had a G60 tho, I wouldnt want to swap for anything less. IMHO, I intend to never take a step backwards on any car I own e.g nothing slower, or less specced I am now concentrating on having a well sorted valver for a couple of years then think about an engine conversion / new car. Please accept my 2p donation ;) p.s - not having a go at G60s either

Dinkus, are you selling this? Does it matter if you have early/late interior? Mine is late BTW. I think it might be easier to have a practice run! Let me know price etc Cheers Andrew

saw you this morning Henny, good to see you after your hols and you've not messed about getting stuff rolling on your motor either. Fair play. Hopefully mine will have some sneaky additions next time you see it! Andrew

BUMP! Dinkus, any joy with the pics mate? Cheers Andrew

I thought you could only get fault codes from the ABS on the valvers??? Obviously not, i think a search is required. But if anyone wants to post some more info in the mean time ;) keep up the good work bcstudent!

Only a small list for me........................... Service Exhaust blowing Lambda sensor/blue temp sensor inc wiring Knocking noise over bumps Engine mount/top mount Oil leaks - where? Remove dash - move stereo to ashtray - wire in speakers - fit VDO gauges - Oil temp and pressure senders - look at fuse box & wiring - interior fan selector Remove doorcards - check wiring to mirrors Remove seats - hoover! Not including fitting new brakes if I can afford to buy them!

dinkus, much appreciated!

Hi I need a picture of the centre console with the ashtray and lighter removed, to understand how much cutting is required to remount the stereo in the ashtray position? Can anyone help? Cheers Lippy

Ad2408, cheers for the reply. I have a to do list a mile long and was hoping I can get this done ASAP. A PDF file would be wicked, give me some idea of wiring etc. As for the sender, my MFA (oil temp) isnt working at the moment anyway so I figure I need a new one. Initially I think I will go with the oil temp on the new gauage, however I would like to fit an A/F meter and then rely on the MFA for the temp. I cant afford the A/F meter yet so that can wait. Keep me updated and I will do likewise, I will take pictures etc as I go as I was hoping to add something to the KB. You going to Tatton park on Sunday, not a million miles away from the midlands? Cheers Lippy

holy resurrected thread Batman! I have just bought these beauts of ebay (see pic) I have a number of questions about fitting which hopefully people will be able to help me with.......... 1) The surround of the gauges doesn't fit the Corrado dash, so I assume some trimming is required to make them flush. What tools did you use? Would it be better to make a new front piece, what materials would be suitable. 2) I havent removed the dash console yet, so I am not sure what to expect. How much modding of the console is required if: a) I fit the gauge panel where the ashtray is currently located. b) I move the stereo to the ashtray position and have the gauge panel in the normal stereo location 3) From the pic, I assume most of the wiring loom is included. What wires need to be run from the engine bay to connect to the loom. Are the connectors on the end of the loom compatible with the Corrado stuff? Any more information highly appreciated, I will bring the unit to Tatton park if anyone can give me any advice that would be great!! Cheers Lippy

i would be interested to see how you would get on with this. as most of the interior that comes up does have the hump. Henny has mentioned welding a bracket would be required, so if someone has done this please holler! Could be worthy addition to the KB? Lippy P.S I wouldnt call the hump a poverty spec, I can fit three people in the back of my car - once they're in they don't get out tho! :D

sorry, but it looks like a golf 4plus (the 1/2 size people carrier) and looks taller than the GTI but if it reduces list prices of mk4's then whose to complain!
