  1. I attacked my car last night, my footwell is very damp with the onset of the monsoon season this week... To get at the heater inlet to check the seal (I am sure mine is the culprit) - 1) Open the bonnet and lift the wipers off the windscreen. 2) On the far bottom right hand side of the windscreen (as you face the car) there is a phillips head screw. Unscrew this and feed the plastic around the seal on the windscreen. 3) There are three seperate panels across the width of the screen. To remove the right hand panel, there are clips at the top an bottom securing it. These are a total pain in the a**e. 4) You may need to unclip part of the middle section to lift the end panel. 5) Once it is removed you can unhook the scuttle cover (the plastic thing that covers the ECU) and easily access the inlet fan cover. If there is any unwanted debris in there, remove it! 6) Remove the inlet fan housing and replace the seal. I didnt get this far as it got dark and pi**ed down so I cant give more guide than that. However, there is a very useful thread if you search for "scuttle AND drain". Look for the 7 pager, you will see you aren't the only one! Oh, another good thing to check is that the drain holes are not blocked up. This is a inch wide hole just beside the plastic scuttle cover above the wheel arch (matching one drivers side). Get a kettle and flush down the hole, if it doesnt come out just behind the wheel on the floor then it might be backing up and causing some overflow into the car. Good luck! Andrew
  2. great looking motor - really feeling the passat vibe and 20vt too, schweet. think it would look good colour coding it also hope it works out Lippy
  3. I may live to regret this comment... the first corrado I saw was in Max Power, on the shelf I hasten to add I didnt buy it) and it had that orange paint job. It was the paint that caught my attention then I saw how beautiful the car was underneath. Other than that I only remember seeing one other Corrado before I bought mine last year. Can't get enough now - especially with all the minters on this forum :D

    Rallye engines

Hi Noticed someone is selling a complete Rallye engine on dubforce, I was wondering how many (if any) people have a Corrado using a Rallye engine and lader? Is this as plug and play as a Rado G60 conversion - I imagine there would be differences coz of LHD? Is is possible? Are any of the Corrado bits and bobs interchangeable, or does it get messy with driveshafts etc All in the name of research for plans for next year! Lippy

had this problem in a fiesta and it was one of the engine mounts dunno which one though, sorry. Think it would be the best place to start looking anyway... Andrew

  12. Taken from http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=12091 VW plans muscular AWD 247bhp coupé for 2008 Classic much-loved 1990s coupeThe Corrado is back. VW's plans for 2008 include a four-wheel drive coupé based on the Golf platform, powered by a range of four engines -- a broader mix than the previous, and much-loved Corrado from the 1990s. With the aim of competing with the Alfa Brera, the top of the range model will both look muscular and boast a 247bhp 3.2-litre V6 -- a development of the original VR6 that powered the top-end Corrado. While the rest of the range is likely to be FWD only, this will get AWD, and will get the six-speed, flappy-paddle operated DSG gearbox as an option. The V6 will make 62mph in around 6.3 seconds. Now called the Rivo, Autocar reports that sources inside VW suggest that the Rivo is to be a pure 2+2 designed to complement the recently unveiled Eos coupé-cabrio. UK prices will start at £22,000. Other powerplants will consist of the new 1.4-litre twin-charger that was launched recently for use in the Golf GT, and the GTi's turbocharged 2.0-litre FSI mill. Diesel will probably also be an option. But is the name a bit weedy -- what was wrong with Corrado...? Concrete information at last? Time will tell...
  13. Hi Following on from the show us your drops thread... I thought it would be a good idea for people to post pictures of your exhausts and manufacturer (if known). This is a kind of selfish thread because my car sounds like a sherman tank at the moment and I would like to see what styles are out there! I'm off to take a picture of mine, and will edit this post in a bit. Cheers Andrew

  20. alright mate, this may sound very stupid but have you checked the voltage from your battery? mine (16v) had similar problems, whilst I was cussing the immob and everything else under the sun the smart ar$e car decided to start after a quick charge from a friendly RAC relay van. Hope you get it sorted. Andrew
