I spose 'the search' is really good for reference as to what products etc people recommend, there are pretty long threads about recomended tyres/oils etc. Either that or the 'suppliers section' ? If the info wasn't put in the context of 'discussion threads' would it not then be more like a sponsered advertisment webpage endorsing certain products in closed forums? Or have I missunderstood your point? Also, with regards to 'the search'... I don't want to be seen to be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs, but, if you put: cleaning AND engine AND bay: into the search it comes up with quite alot of pages of info for you to kill 'work time' with :D..it wasn;t untill I got shown that that I started to get any use out of the search.

Sounds like a worth while deal for someone with a knackered Vr6
-
Yeah, that looks prett bad, hope you're OK. It would be a same to see those seats go to a scrappy! will you be able to grab 'em?
-
Thread cleaned. I'm not really sure I understand the problem, from what I can make out from the first post you're saying that the doors wont open untill you've unlocked them? ..Is the problem that 1 or more of the locks are sticking ?
-
19 pages of musical choices ...Keep this thread alive with your wonderfull suggestions...:-) Loads of insperation for you there Mr Selbek :D EDIT-- oh god, I sound like VR6
-
 True, he does look like he prefers a bit of back door action!
-
dazzyvr6, thats only in the thread description which you don't see if you're looking at 'posts since last visit' mate.
-
Dunno anything about alarms mate, but i've got quite alot of late black interior parts at my mums house in Cardiff. I'll drop you a pm next time i'm heading back that way.

Maaaaaan, your Borbets are classy wheels, don't change them !

Cool. £200 sounds like a good all in price. I'm sure your car will be loving it!.

Grrr it's a bugger hearing about things like this. They are large bills and it's not good to be told things that aren't true, whenever these guys are mentioned it seems to be problem related. I remember matth76 posting this thread , fair play to you for being open minded and not listening to what could be chineese whispers (( not that i'm saying that chineese people lie when they whisper  )) but theres a fine line between giving people a chance and not letting possible hearsay deter you,and choosing where to take your car through reccomendation by word of mouth . I recently found RK Engineering in St Agnes due to recommendation on here and was most impressed. It sorta shows the importance of "freedom of speech" as it were, companies like G-werks,Stealth,RK Engineering,The Phirm work hard to get good reps. I don't think i'd choose Storm Developments after reading your direct involvement with them. Best of luck with sorting it out mate.

Yeah, true, still good tho..i'm into air aswell as water-cooled , besides, one day, i'd like one of these!..
-
triggermyson check the The VW Dictionary for info ! (( Cool find eh? ))
-
triggermyson, nice, but it's slightly too rattish. With regards to them falling apart, i'm no expert, but i'm pretty sure that it's just light surface rust that's been protected (laquered?) so it doesn't get worse or rot? I've seen campers at shows with craked windows that have been seeled so they won't cave in, but they still have the crack. I think the point with 'rat look' is that they look rough as , but are mechanicaly sound, dropped to the floor on new suspension, and wearing fat rims.
-
Well, yeah, as the next car I buy will be mainly my missus's daily drive, i'll be suprised if my ratty dream will come true...
-
*enter chrishill stage left* I'm seriously tempted to buy a raddo thats up for sale near me, the engine/interior seem ok, but there's a bloody big dent in the rear quarter (( same as the last raddo I had )) amongst other rough exterior parts. I'm thinking I might rat it. :D this could be an interesting site when it gets going!
-
They do have a certain 'charm' about them  I'd say it's a better option than scrapping a raddo because it would cost too much to get back to a decent exterior condition (( i.e dents in rear quarters etc )) Obviously raddo's don't suffer with rust like aircooled's do, but there are more and more being scrapped due to un-economical pannel repairs/replacement.
-
Anyone know of a raddo rat? I know it's more of an air-cooled thang, but you do see the odd water cooled rat at shows, but i've not seen a ratty raddo ..well, i've seen quite a few rough ones, but not a 'proper' rat.

That has nothing to do with anyone..it's your business only. Same with how much it's worth aswell really, untill the time comes that you want to sell it. It's always the question on the tip of everyones tounge when the campaign is mentioned. we're all just nosey buggas!
-
Where did you manage to get hold of yours from Campaign? if you don't mind me asking? I can't imagine it came up for sale in your local rag? Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate that it is worth more than a vr6, and a storm aswell, the question is how much more! ..although, as long as you're not selling it it's purly speculation anyway!
