what colour should i paint my callipers??
vr6storm replied to jedi-knight83's topic in General Car Chat
well in 5+K miles since doing my calipers they havent caught fire or the Smoothrite flaked off.........its up to yourself the smoothrite will be dry pretty quickly, only costs about £6 for the small tin you'll need  whereas the "proper" caliper paint needs 3 coats with a few hours between them  ,costs about £20 for the kit and IIRC you need to laquer them -
tho don't panic too much if there is some mayo on the oil-filler cap as this can also occur due to short journeys and/or the engine not getting up to temp

might be boring but you'll have fun trying to keep any other colour(such as silver, red, gold etc) from looking dirty........i just used Smoothrite on mine earlier on this year and haven't had any problems at all............i think Smoothrite comes in a dark green too...........so would look pretty subtle IMO on a dark green car -
VR's looking good Timo 8) ...........though i would change the rear VW badge for a black one so it would stand out more

if the spoiler hasn't went down and the engine won't restart then its yer fuse under the dash(driver-side) thats gone........i had exactly the same problem in January this year and all it needed was 1 fuse replaced and the relays pushed in more securely.........my S/roof also wouldn't shut as i had it tilted when mine played up

-
it ain't a storm as such.........more than likely storm -spec tho.....which tbh is practically the same bar 2 badges,colour-coded grille and alloys...............must admit i'd have a storm with that colour combo anyday.....pity VW didn't offer it :(

IIRC the Koni coilovers come with the lifetime warranty but the Koni suspension kits only have the 3 -year warranty
-
well you always have the McVince......aka Jim Curley(star-Performance) in Kirkcaldy.........btw there is the Forum's 2nd RR-day coming up soon(halloween in fact) so that would be as good a time as any to meet yer fellow C-owners and see what Star-P have to offer........and of course you could always put yer C on the Rollers and found out how many horses you're keeping under the bonnet
-
get a second opinion!!!!!.........if someone can look over an engine for 10 secs and decide it needs a rebuild then i'd love to meet him

According to the VR6 model history section in the May '02 edition of VW Driver mag, the actual colour of this car is called Magic Black. Although I'm not sure whether it is either flat or metallic. IIRC its a metalic
-
as the title says.....what colour is yer Corrado????........for the sake of making it simple we'll count the likes of Tornado red and flash red as red and same with the variations of blue/white/black/green etc hopefully ive got this near enough right ive used info from here http://vangeenen.demon.nl/corrado-vr6/v ... olors.html so there will be some colours never seen in the UK but it should cover the bulk of all Corrado colours
-
not 100% sure but he had it in VW-driver mag for £9995

is it not Paul Kippax that has a concours black metalic VR6 for sale?
