and for added rarity throw in an autobox..............i looked at a lovely "only" 22k mile and 1 lady owner 96N-plate 2.0 8v auto just months prior to buying my storm................only seen 1 other advertised since then
-
well tbh its not exactly being mechanically sympathetic reving the VR over 3k when really cold........best wait til the oil temp is over 74 degrees before going that high IMHO
-
just been offered a very nice VR6 storm, whats it worth?

well if you look in a 95 m/y Corrado brochure you'll see that its chrome VR6 badges that are used.......i have a red VR6 front badge on mine....but i put it there....chances are yours has also been added by a previous owner -
ain't that the truth  :(
-
i would think if its just leaking a small amount at a time it would still blow hot.......bear in mind a small amount can look a lot when its splashed in/around a footwell  .............if it aint sickly-sweet-smelling or sticky then more than likely its some sort of seal thats gone either window/door membrane/sunroof etc etc
-
thats my wishlist too
-
if its the matrix (providing of course you have coolant in) it will be sticky and smell/taste sweet.............best do a search on the forum for other things it could be.......

no you haven't upset us  and no we wouldn't be complaing about making £2k within 2 weeks............but when you're a Corrado enthusiast like most on here (including yourself) you don't go out of your way to profit on someone elses lack of knowledge...........i wouldn't like a newbie coming on here looking at a C(S/C'd VR6) that had been bought cheaply(as it has already been on the forum cheaper unbeknown to them) then punted for a massive profit without knowing ALL the details............ -

there's now't wrong with making some money.....however if we take the white S/C VR you have for sale............now you going to tell me you paid full asking price for that(IIRC the guy had it for sale for approx £3.5k and was desperate to sell within a week of it being on the forum)........ok you've maybe had to do some work to it(IIRC the dash/some interior bits were dmaged)but come on when you first put it up for sale you had it for £5k+..................fair enough you could always bargain down etc but what did you spend on it tops...£500?????? then we have the rieger-kitted ex-max-power C..........you had it up for sale within a month of buying it.....either as a whole car or split.....long before the white S/C VR was on here for sale sorry but to me that makes it look like you are a trader........and going by the fact out of your 70+posts on the forum that less than a third are still active points to the fact most of your posting is done on the "for sale" forums.....also makes it look more like a trader...........part-time or full-time a trader is still a trader......as VR6 says its just an observation -
no one going to mention the dimples on the door lock pins????
-
that must be so gutting and sickening for him  :(
-
jeeeez i thought he'd .........sold another Corrado/changed another sunroof/bought another Corrado* *delete which is applicable

well what are you offering for it?????..........its all very well asking us "what we think its worth".....but are you not a trader :?: ,so therefore should know what it is really worth?.......so therefore if we say £10k for example and you get it for £8k i wonder how long it will take before it appears on here for sale at £10k.......nice little earner for you eh? ................i'm sorry for this cynicism but......we are all meant to be "enthusiasts" here........fair enough making a small profit or covering yer costs etc but using the forum to speculate a price that you'll no doubt use as a "valuation" for pricing it when you punt it up for sale when being blunt you'll be out to get it for as minimum outlay and maximum profit.....to me isn't being an enthusiast and also IMHO isn't what being on this forum is about -
yip as jedi has mentioned it hasn't faired up to well :( ............in fact any bit of "heat" coming from your body will make you stick to the seats and if you happen to be wearing jeans or a dark colour type trouser it seems to take some of the fibre off and leave it sticking to the seats making it look minging :( ......best start saving for a retrim....thats what i'm going to do but at the time i thought going the re-colouring route was worth trying but ive found out it isnt so great......well at least notwith cream/beige leather

Anyone Know What Happened to F241 BVV VWUK Press Car???
vr6storm replied to rado-steve's topic in General Car Chat
do a search on the forum for the RAC addy  -
oh deffo..........mines gone straight through its 2002,2003 and 2004 MOT........only thing thats been advised about is some corrosion on brake pipes and some little play in a bottom ball-joint
-
i bought mine in August 2001 with 38k miles and i also know of few other genuine low low-milers (sandy's g/f's father's H-reg G60 had 16k in 2002,Skid's 92J-reg G60 had 29k in 2001,chubbybrown's 90 G-reg 16v had 40-ish k in 2003 and a guy who aint on the forum bought a storm with 12k in 2001)so they do exist out there  .................
-
as it aint a Corrado.........best i move this from Common Corrado Q's to general car chat
-
no real comparison tbh.........Golf mk1 campaign just about(though not 100% of them) applies to all A-reg Mk1 GTI's and even a few Y-reg ones qualify due to a certain chassis code........the C Campaign is a far far far rarer beast
-
tbh if i were you...........i would get the suspension lowered(nothing too drastic 30mm should be fine) first before buying bigger alloys.......as your suspension will more than likely be A) needing replaced if its original and B)give a Land Rover vertigo   ............which in turn will make bigger alloys look sillier
-
Ice n Secure for this
-
tbh that little list is really just minor fettling................ exhaust IMO its best to get either a MIlltek or Magnex cat-back system....so budget approx £300-ish(£30-£50 fitting) rear brake discs are approx £30-£50 a pair (1-2hr labour inc wheel bearing/pad fitting) rear shocks and bumpstops will be approx £100 (2hours labour) GS+F or Euro-car-parts for them rear wheel bearings approx £15 from VW a side replacement seals for oil cooler are £2ea approx(30-45mins labour) engne mount from VW is approx £50+vat.....vibratech one is £100+(15-30mins labour) front pads £15-£25 depending on what pads you use (and approx 30mins a side) you may as well change the abs rotor cages on the rear discs if you are getting the rear discs and bearings done......this will add approx £10 ea side to the price
-
.........for local people???? :-P :-P :-P
-
yer local $tealer IIRC are the only source.......but at least they've dropped the price of them........when mine packed up they were approx £114+VAT......now they are approx £60-ish+VAT or a bit cheaper
-
IMO and IIRC the cambelt change on the Fiat (regardless if its an engine out job), its still an expensive "requirement" to have done.......every 72/74k IIRC.....ok a lot of people with VR6's have had the timing chain changed at similar kind of cost but........VW don't state that the Timing chain HAS an interval to be changed at,and a few people i trust with my engine are of the view that the actual chains should last the lifetime of the car........ok the guides and tensioner will obviously need inspected and changed if required(but then i suppose if your that far into the engine and/or you're fitting a new clutch then i suppose its worth doing).............i suppose at the end of the day it depends what Coupe you want/like etc the VW will always have the reliability legend on its side(even though we all know they ain't exactly trouble-free) whereas the Fiat Coupe will always suffer from the general Italian car misconceptions(dodgy electrics....premature rust etc.....even though ive yet to see a rusty unloved Fiat Coupe up here).........
