yeah thats my thoughts too.............i'm also not keen on the number plate location(going by the pics) as to me it reminds me too much of the "trailblazers" every XR3/XR3i were wearing in the early to late 80's...........don't mean i don't like the rest of Lee's motor either just that one styling cue isn't my cup o char and isn't Jay's either.....ive actually met Jay at Inters and even with me telling him i wasn't keen at first on his TT dash he was very diplomatic to me when he could so easily of taken the hump......but anyway although i can't speak for Jay i'm pretty sure he is just giving some constructive criticsm and isn't/hasn't got a problem with your motor Lee let alone you :wink:

yip the green one does it for me a hellava lot more than the spoiler-overloaded $20k one does :wink:

leather IMO is really only worth the extra on the VR6 and G60 whereas on the valver its just a good selling point and doesnt drastically inflate the price......going by the sounds of your leather(as you describe) its not in mint condition so won't really be worth to much more over cloth

at the end of the day its going to need some fair bit of paint (again going by your description) so if we say £500+ for a good quality respray,plus refurbishment of the kerbed alloys etc easy £200-ish........and minor fettling so say £100-ish.......there you have approx £1800......which is normally the going rate for 1.8 16v's

there was a post on this forum(phatvr6 IIRC originally posted it up) regarding Used car buyer magazine looking for a Corrado VR6...........i was first to offer my motor but due to the fact i'm way up north of the border and they didn't want to pay so much fuel/hotel costs etc i wasn't used :(

as the others say.........best thing to do is swap yer leather for cloth plus a cash adjustment in yer favour.........your car having leather won't increase its value just make it a bit more desirable but given the state of the paint/body(by your description) it won't be easy to sell unless you price it very keenly :wink:

yeah must admit the position of the number plate reminds me too much of the "trailblazers" that were common on mk3 XR3/3i's that relocated the number-plate to unde the bumper......and detracts from what does look like a very well modded C......need to see it in the flesh tbh however as i wasn't that keen on your own C's influences but once i saw yours in the flesh Jay....as you know i was gobsmacked 8)

Ah well, I guess it's worth a try. Technically speaking it isn't road legal, thus they can refuse to pay up tho... oh yeah i agree with you....everything is worth a try........but 9 times out of ten it ends in disapointment :(

then again.........they do ask you if the car has any modifications from standard.........pleading ignorance i'm afraid wont wash with them You thought it was a standard factory option on the VR's.... tinted glass IIRC was standard on C's......but only a light tint......going by Eug's pics there's no way you could describe that as a light tint........thats where the pleading ignorance wont wash with them........

check the sticker in the boot and/or beside the airbox on the inner wing should be a orangey/yellow sticker too with the paint code and colour in german :wink:
