  1. not being a biker type...............but.........would BMW bikes rev to as much as 12k????......cos it looks like its Photo-chopping perhaps using a BMW bike rev counter........ not entirely sure its an E-36 cluster tho.................and its deffo not a 8-series cluster thats for sure..possibly a E-34 5 series cluster EDIT........its not an E-36 cluster for sure..............the digital odometer on an E-36 should be in the lower segment of the speedo
  2. i've a funny feeling that the audi tiptronic box wasn't offered in a VR-engined Audi....from memory Audi's V6 isn't a VR6......but their own "conventional" V6.similar outputs and capacity to a VR6 IIRC
  3. ...or you could go for the 9ff tuned ones with 800bhp+++
  4. 959's aint exactly cheap motors to run tho..............IIRC each wheel costs approx £3k......cos they have a tyre pressure monitor built into them
  5. which when covered with leather also became the Sierra Cosworth steering wheel...............in fact the RS200 had a hybrid Fiesta XR2 dash too.......with some of its rocker switches too boot
  6. filled the missus's motor up at the local shell one night.............at the next pump was a tidy bit of stuff with a F50!!!!!! 8) 8) 8)
  7. first time ive ever heard of the RS200 being refered to as an Escort :D ...........you're maybe getting confused with the RS2000 which has always been an escort
  8. tbh if its only water marks on it i'd leave it as is..............i had mine replacced when there was a wee pool on top of the g/box
  9. ah but what about this month??? :D might also be a sign that yer fuel pump aint got much life left in it................mine very rarely used to cut out.........then the fuel pump went 2 years ago and since that was replaced its never cut-out
  10. you can only replace the whole unit................but it could be worse.when mine went it was only £141+vat for the part  .............lucky for me mine was under warranty
  11. crap starting from cold and sometime crap hot starting can also be the coolant temp sensor.........approx £10 for the part(its the ecu one u need btw) and well under 30mins to fit...........if you're nifty with yer hands then you should lose very little coolant when you swap them over....bear in mind to do this on a cold engine tho
  12. classic is normally base-ish level, espirit is just above, then sport, then avantguarde...........from memory espirit trim was only up to mid-90's..........also if you can go for the diesel option with the autobox......as most petrols with autobox are pretty lacklustre.......and seem to rev too much.whereas the diesel and auto combo is a more pleasent merc to drive
  13. Ford Ka everytime................only car ive ever bought new.......wife is now on her 3rd since 1997
  14. surely thats not darren and furki  ...............looks like their playing pocket billiards to me :-P :-P :-P :-P
  15. could be the coolant temp sender............approx £10 plus 30 mins tops to fit......but best get someone with VAG-COM to scan yer motor to check for anything else..............as it sounds to me like some sort of sensor or other possibilities are coil-pack fuel pump on its way out................mine used to every so often cut out when approaching round-a-bouts......new fuel pump was fitted 2 years ago and viola........its never cut out since then
  16. i can do better than that.............get a P/T job at Europcar or any other VAG Owned company.............i can lease a GT 140 TDi Golf for .............£120 per month with a new one every 9 months.......and all i have to pay on top of that is insurance(only 2 companies are approved for it tho) and fuel :D
  17. chalk n cheese compared to a 330d tho
  18. i think the clocks/needles change was a later dashboard specific thing not so much a VR6 one...........(although obviously a 4cyl and 6cyl rev counter should be different).......so there might be early VR6's with white needles...|Campaign is probably the best person to check with
  19. is that not for the early ones tho??????...............as i know only too well that late ones are now over £50(which is slightly more palatable than the £70+ they originally were)
  20. you need someone with VAG-COM to scan it for you...............should just be a sensor but best to get it scanned so you know what you're dealing with
  21. just bite the bullet and get a new radiator.................radweld might react with yer coolant if its still G11
  22. could be the headlight switch on its way out.................they are known to be a bit on the fragile side..............as well as the expensive side
  23. its pretty amazing that with perhaps a blocked cat and various other overheating and fueling problems that you wasted a tuned 350Z that was really gunning it
