i'm using iridiums in my storm.........but only because with having a schrick i needed ones with a long service life......so that i'm not having to have the schrick apart every year to change plugs...........not noticed any problems with them at all............pre-schrick i just used the standard NGK's

M was aug 94-jul 95

vr6storm replied to _leon_'s topic in Members Gallery
looking v nice leon.......i'm sure jill will be very envious when she sees her old baby  -
It's the same car - honest. Green, not blue. its ok........i am indeed confused  .........going by the gist of this thread ppl were commenting on mystic blue.......so when i briefly looked at the top pic......it looked mystic-ish blue (if ya squinted....honest  ) so assumed urs was mystic blue...........anyway nice and polished 8) classic green storm thar
-
i'm confused here a bit.............but why on the first post is there a pic of a mystic blue storm and a pic of a classic green storm(the one with the h/light protectors)????????
-
got the book from one of the wifes auntie's for me b/day last year..........decent enough but a few inaccuracies.........eg........seemingly my 924S has the 944 turbo engine and running gear  .............other than that its just yor usual supermarket type car book
-
You can't really call a 924S a 'real' Porker tho Rodders, It was just a coupe prototype built for VW at the time but then ditched for the Corrado  certainly helped keep Porsche's bank balance healthy for a decade + ................and 924S's have a real porker engine in them
-
front indicators are sold as complete units(minus the bulb).........tho make sure you order the correct one(early or later)
-
IMHO here its more of a statement
-
so one guy's opinions/comments automatically tars all Porsche drivers/owners????????...............
-
err........my 924S has larger rear discs than the front
-
you should have.............. the 90mm spoiler and chrome VW badge
-
they're also sold as private plates too
-
you not get quoted on the actual mirror housings?
-
that'll be why VW can only fit an auto to the toureg V10 TDi.........cos they can't get a manual box to take the torque
-
surprisingly enough......on the VR (at least) it is
-
could be a coolant temp sensor if its a VR6................not sure about the 16v's and G60's tho
-
i'd look at it this way.........(going by your description of it) Pros low-ish price for later VR Black leather Recaros newer interior newer car VR6 lump Cons faded/scuffed/dented paint and bodywork abs light alloys needing a refurb shouldn't be too hard to sort out by either obtaining a 2nd-hand good condition set or refurbing the originals, the heater on speed 4 as you are well aware aint a biggie, and the not too great hot starting sounds a bit like a coolant temp sensor prob so £10 sensor and 30 mins garage time at most and some coolant of course...........what you have to ask yourself tho..........are you wanting out of your G60 that much to start all over again with more potential for big bills on the horizon :?:
-
i hope you get some comission for "bigging" them up
-
if your workmate's storm is a genuine enough storm.......then it'll also be even rarer as in 1 of 20(10 green/10 blue)........though the autobox isn't meant to be that great once its had a few miles under its belt and can be an absolute fortune to fix too............it all really depends on your driving style too.........i like autos in certain motors(diesel mercs,RR's etc) but i would deffo not have a VR6 auto............by the sounds of it you're not too bothered about space/practicality either so my choice would be between the Porker(biased of course  ) and the Nissan
-
anyone shed any light on that comment :?: aye.......he's speaking htis
-
PMSL........he list bad points as.............not having front fog-lights

Not as simple as just a bodykit - Lotus has different rear arches to standard Carltons. Round, as opposed to straight. pretty sure there was a GRP kit to help achieve the "lotus" look and if you're going to do a replica creating round arches wouldn't exactly be hard to get a decent bodyshop to do....................i do remember that someone did create a replica using a GSI as a base..........except he went the full hog and actually used a written-off Lotus carlton's running gear..................as for the colour scruffythefirst........most ppl would if they were making a replica, paint it the same colour as the real thing
-
btw carpoid.............v v v nice 8) 8) 8)
