Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
vr6storm replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
might be an idea then to split them into engine sizes etc eg best 1.8 16v best 2.0 16 best 2.0 8v best 1.8 G60 best VR6 best engine transplant etc etc etc -
And it didn't! Lancia were also the first to make a VR engine! Years before VW nicked the idea. you not meaning a V4 engine mate?.................i think they had a V4 engine out just before Ford had one
-
right about the Reliant bit..................but nowhere near right about trying to pass it off as an escort  .............unless you are meaning the still-born RS1700T which looked like a FWD mk3 but had RWD :?:
-
pah u ain't a quattro-junkie yet......just a lightweight :-P ...........you need to spell it properly first :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ............last drove one about 9 years ago...............and still nothing has really come close bettering its "note"........although the VR sound is amazing enough........but compared to an UR-quattro its pretty tame
-
   total agreement with you
-
well at least one thing to remember when your stuck in traffic in your C's...............you are (according to TOP GEAR) stuck in one of the top twenty coolest cars to have  ...................tho this shine might be taken off a bit if there is a Landie in the next lane :D
-

-
yip you can park them anywhere and not be worried about parking dents.............thing that amazes me about them is they were raved about as being streets ahead of their competion in the 90's  ............
-
hehehehehe.............had the cheapest motoring a few years back when i had a 95M 115SD 5dr   :D :D :D .............nowt wrong with them..............but then again nowt right with them either :D
-
for £200 you'll just get budget springs and dampers...................best save up for decent stuff like Koni/FK/Spax/Bilstein/H & R/Eibach etc etc
-
if its a totally standard VR.............budget on some lowered suspension.........unless you like the SUV-coupe look
-

Wot's the obsession with highlighting the word "storm"? It's just a weather phenomenon. Or are you smarting at paying all that extra insurance for a badge? ;) nah its just to annoy ppl like you
-
Autotek Corrado's were normally pretty decent quality and fairly over-priced..............but they used to have a wide selection and probably one of the biggest choices of C's for sale from 1.8 16v's to storms
-
VR6 - 18th coolest car in the world ever! (officially!)
vr6storm replied to chrishill's topic in General Car Chat
ahhhhh but it is the wide-bodied mid-engined "rallye" special R5 turbo they are speaking about  -
AFAIK the switchgear was changed...........along with the interior facelift circa late 92
-
its already being discussed in the eBay section.............as its also a forum member's C  http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18099 anyway i'll lock this up and if you could either PM the seller or discuss further in the existing thread

Well he is a fair bit younger than us 30 plusers! I'm hoping to still have the C when I sign up to Saga  They will probably have those planned black boxes in cars by then which transmit data to the Police HQ via GPS, so down with expensive Gatsos and in with £20 GPS transmitters...and it'll be an offense to remove it  yeah i'm sure he is :D ............but its just this "what if i say i never got it".......or "what if i tell them someone else was driving" malarky...................not trying to be holier than thou etc but we all speed and its a chance we take everytime we do that we might just get "done" (just remember it could be a lot lot worse  )..........hell ive been kacking myself a few times when ive at the last minute seen a mobile camera but if i did get done i'd have to hold my hand up to it and take it on the chin.........wouldn't be too happy but i didn't have to speed and it would have been my fault regardless if i "thought" the road had a lower speed limit...........not meaning to be too savage on Jedi but at the end of the day no-one told him to speed
-
once he drives it that'll be a no brainer :D
-
well they are still damn good whoever makes them(for the money that is)
-
my missus's SportKa has a 8v SOHC 1.6 Duratec in it :wink ......... only 95bhp but quite good fun......just don't tell her  :

That's 'cos they were made by Karmann! ;) the Sierra wasn't  .............the only Sierra Karmann built was the Merkur XR4Ti  .............sorry Fordie anorak coming out
-
FFS jedi take it on the chin  .............you are supposed to be a grown-up now  ...........just put it down to experience.............we've all been had in the past and at the end of the day its not the end of the world(providing of course you ain't on 6+ points) and most Ins co's don't mind 6 pts

i have the ATE pads(and power groove discs) on mine and have had them for the past 2+ years.........i can't fault them whatsoever given that they are a good bit cheaper than the VW pads and the power grooves are approx £20 cheaper for a pair than standard VW discs......the only downside is the fact your wheels will get dirty quickly........and ATE is an O/E supplier too
