bloody hell steve that would have been many many many moons ago :-P .........the 2.3-16v was only made up to 88/89

  7. just don't get the old boy too exited with the above pic as thats the SWB mega-rare Sport version( or IIRC its actually a replica........can't remember for sure :? ) yip any ur-quattro will not be cheap to run full-stop.............you think Corrado parts are expensive......wait til you need something like a clutch fluid reservoir..........try £50+ from the local Audi $tealer..............and of course to brim the tank from empty used to cost me £50..........that was in 1995 btw      ..........20gal tank sir  .........BUT once you own/drive one you'll know why everyone raves about them.........hell if i didn't sell mine to keep the missus happy...........i'd still be running it now they are feckin AWESOME........even near on 25 years since they were first launched.................my missus and the fact i'd be divorced is the only reason why i ain't in one now  ........first things first tho......JOIN the quattro-owners club ASAP and ask if they know of any good ones coming up for sale...........you're oldman won't regret buying a good ur-quattro  tho he will be savagely burned if he buys a dud :(
  8. my preference for all round affordability etc ur-quattro wise is the post 83A> digital dash versions...........20v's are just still a bit on the high side price-wise and are the more collectable whereas the 10valvers are not too un-realistically priced with 95% of the 20v's performance..............Tor-sen diff ones from 87/88 are the best of the 10v's btw make sure the front and rear bumpers are totally intact too..............spoke to an ur-quattro club rep the other day and he told me the front bumper is getting on for near £2k to replace
  9. right you'll also need to get matching dampers as well.........just getting shorter springs is a bit of a compromise................whatever suspension kit you buy also factor in a geometry check/adjust wheel alignment cost as well as you're fitting costs etc Star-Performance charge
  10. Fabia vRS too.................quite individual in its own little way
  11. u not meaning the corrolla .......carina was replace a few years back by the Avensis
  12. Smart roadster?.........leggy early SLK?............
  13. so not the proper late ones then if they are painted silver........proper late ones have a chrome finish.......this might be confusing a bit :? ............as although they ain't really chromed as such they deffo aren't painted silver
  14. kerrimay........ive got the 93 brochure at my work  if you want and if you send me postal details i'll get a colour copy of the trim and colour options page and send it down to you
  15. well tbh most $tealer parts ppl will be able to source the badge from any other VW dealership.......if its speccy cars you're getting this from then i'm 99% sure they'll be getting it from the VW parts distribution centre so in effect that should be accessible to all....you just need to go and ask you're local $tealer parts man to locate one for you....
  16. IIRC the centre armrest was optional on ALL 2.0 16v's and 8v's but was standard fit on ALL VR6's
  17. well tbh its going to give you a chance to save more money for them and also by the time you manage to get them the salt will have long disappeared from our roads
  18. moving to general car chat...............might be worth PM'ing Greegs as he's in that neck of the woods.........see if he knows about it
  19. something to be real proud of eh
  20. prudent owner more like..........£500+ option for the E/W's
  21. yip i think that would contrast nicely and be pretty practical too
  22. PhatVR6 is yer man to ask
  23. i went for black mats as apart from being easier to keep clean than the beige carpets it also broke up the amount of beige in the cabin
