  1. I don't have contact details for him, anyone got an email address?
  2. Been sat in my garden for about 3 years. Originally Bordeaux Red but was rattle canned Moonlight blue. I took it off my old car as I found a better finished bumper. Anyhow take it as it is, lip spoiler is scrap. Condition is straight but I would advise painting. Anyway free for collection from Kidderminster,
  3. Good to hear that the Corrado VR6 is starting to get the attention it deserves a rightful classic. Not so good for me is that the prices will rise making any return more and more expensive. I can't warrant buying one just right now so I'll just have to live with it. Have to say I would be tempted in buying an Alfa GTV V6 as have always liked an Alfa - and we are an Alfa free house at the moment too which just is no good!
  4. I have had the front one, there was another parcel on the tracking which suggests the other mount went too.
  5. I didn't really want it, just wanted to help it along and prove that i was right in it being worth more. A 9835 went for £115 earlier today, yours does not have quite such a good reputation due to the glidetouch and less power, but nethertheless it is a good unit. Your might get to £70 or £80 now.
  6. Now beating your advertised price, I told you it would! I am also glad it beat my £50 top bid otherwise I would have had to put my money where my mouth is!!
  7. I think you'll easily get what you want for it on ebay - I know there is always the risk of messers though. This unit was top of the range in its day, I believe it followed on from the 9835. Had I not got a few Alpine units knocking about and the body being silver I would have had it.
  8. I love threads like this, vehicles that have had proper usage over the years. I can't talk about a Corrado as I don't have one any more but my T5 has 307k miles on it but that has been semi retired for camping and leisure purposes only. My Mk2 has 203k and I am probably doing less than 2k miles in a year at the moment. Well done with that mileage you are on the return journey from the moon, onwards to 300k!
  9. I'll take the front mount for £80 delivered if you can do it?
  10. Very enjoyable, makes me want another one, sadly won't happen for a while though as I can't sell on the Golfs as I would miss those too.
  11. Boost/vac reading at idle: -5 psi Idle speed: 800 rpm Boost gauge connected to: MFA vac tee'd line behind clocks Engine mods: Stage 4 charger, big valve head, standard cam, flowed exhaust manifold.
  12. I had forgotten about the Campaign, yes very collectable if you can get your hands on which, which is a very big if.
  13. All posts to remain, they perhaps should not have been placed but in some way it will have helped both parties even though it was off topic. A Storm would be my preference if and when i return. I know all the arguments about the perceived value, however there is no doubt the Storm is the most collectable. I would possibly go for a car with factory leather Recaros though.
  14. Mk1 Cabs are not worth as much as the tin tops due to them being built until 1993 and there are still lots about. They don't drive as well either but they are fantastic fun for cruising around on a glorious sunny day.
  15. I was not expecting this sort of reply to my thread. However, you both really should learn from this, Chris your demeanor suggests that you knew of minor faults at sale and should have disclosed this at sale. Bill it appears that the car was sold as seen so you should have been aware of these at sale by way of doing a proper test drive and mechanical test. Seriously guys stop bitching at each other and move on, these are old cars that cannot be advertised and bought like they are 2 years old.
  16. It is a difficult thing for me to accept, but I remain Corrado lacking after 18 months of selling my VR6. It was far from tidy but was mechanically sound and decent to drive. The problem was always what was in the garage, my Mk2 Golf Gti, the start of my love affair with performance VWs so after currently 14 years of ownership I would find it really hard to sell. I suppose the spirit of Corrado lives within this Golf seeing a rotten G60 gave up its engine and Recaro UV interior to reside within the Mk2 shell. Mk2 is now running an unverified estimated 220 bhp so is faster than any Corrado I have owned (there have been many 16v, G60 and VR6 over the years). I really do miss that VR6 noise though, the G60 noise is OK but the unsilenced intake constant drone is not my thing anymore so I run a standard factory spec air box. On the flip side I do like the standard 8v look and sound but with the power to weight ratio of a BMW E46 M3. So where do I go, 2nd toy? Got it already, a Mk1 Golf Cabriolet, that was used in our wedding and have now owned that car for 8 years! So that won't be allowed to go anywhere either. Future plans of getting rid of the T5 would only see something modern for daily use and then probably the purchase of an early Bay Campervan for family trips away on summer weekends. Still no room for a Corrado! So unless we move to house with a quadruple garage (unlikely!)I really can't see a Corrado entering my life again soon, a real shame but that is life. I will always be hanging around here though, my interest remains in such a fantastic coupe.
  17. I bought a high miler T5 Caravelle 4 years ago, spent a lot on the mechanical side of things but I reckon I could sell it now for a few grand more than what I paid for it seeing the engine was a brand new crate engine from VW 3 years ago. I would still be out of pocket. The point is that T5 Caravelles of around 10 years old have probably hit rock bottom depreciation.
  18. I am looking for a replacement exhaust manifold as mine has a tiny crack in it. Either a good condition standard item, flowed standard item or possibly a 4 branch that will fit a RHD car.
  19. Yeah he is fine. The contract takes up most of his time now and i believe it is ongoing. Which is a right pain in the RS because he was happy doing work on my T5 and i am now a bit stuck locally.
  20. You could probably smack a socket over it that will just bite enough to loosen it
  21. I too work in the steel industry and I believe prices of finished products are more reflective of raw material costs rather than traded rates such as oil. Crude will go back up for sure, it is a matter of when and what the conditions are that cause it. Eventually those producers who have a high unit cost will be lost and the supply will reduce, this will bring things back into equilibrium and any small changes in the market due to supply or demand could see the price rising again.
  22. Keep us informed, I hope you are keeping the original colour.
