Check the temp sensor is not goosed. I had a similar thing with high oil temps, until I changed the temp sender and instantly lost 10-12 degrees off my running temps.

I was getting 28 mpg pushing to 30-31 on a steady run for a manual. You will certainly lose some mpg for an auto but it does sound a little over the top. Need to get Vagcom on it to check it out I reckon.

Do you have the brake servo vacuum pipe with the non return valve present along with all the pipework please? -
Ultra violet electric recaros with correct doorcards - SOLD
Rustynuts replied to davevw's topic in Parts for Sale
I got a set with same 'problem' of a non matching base. Really odd. Best of luck with the sale, they look very tidy. -
As per the title, a photo of what you have would be useful just so I can check you know what I am after. Thanks Rob

Looking great Jay, i regret selling that car to some extent. I like what you are doing though (although stretching tyres and running silly low are a thing of my past now).
-
Must be in excellent condition. Proof of rebuild a must, also porting would be good.
-
Oh well, a misunderstanding. One less charger ahead of mine then!
-
I am sure your sound is nicer now. However, the only real way to get really decent sound in a Corrado is to run component speakers, so tweeters in the dash, mids in the doors and probably a small subwoofer in the boot. For £20 they will be OK, but say you then spend £30 on the door speakers, you would really be better off getting components at say £80 which give a much better sound.

You have basically 3 options. Jabba, JMR and OCD. I have just sent mine to OCD, mine is previously rebuilt JMR Stg 2 that seems to be low on boost. I would have been more than happy to send to JMR but thought I would give OCD a go. Will let you know how I get on, I am probably having mine ported whilst it is there. Might go for Stage 3 as long as it is possible on my charger. You will need head work to make the most of the gains from the stage 3 porting. If you intend to remain standard I would just go stage 2, however if future plans include headwork then perhaps go for it. Speak to OCD though for best advise on that.

I know its not a corrado(SORRY), but my new car to the collection
Rustynuts replied to vw bobby's topic in General Car Chat
The wiring won't be in place. So if you want electric windows and mirrors you need to source everything. -

Rustynuts replied to vw bobby's topic in General Car Chat
You say they have electric windows and mirrors on the door cards, but the controls/blanks pop out and the manual adjusters move into place, simple as that. I briefly owned this car, i helped fund this car coming into the uk from Holland, those wheels were on a Scirocco i was breaking at the same time. Very solid car that and i hope you can make the most of it. -

advice and thoughts wanted on abf swap into 9a corrado
Rustynuts replied to geoffersmaher's topic in Engine Bay
I would think it would be dead easy. Not sure if you may have an issue or two if your ABF has a factory immobiliser but even that could be defeated easily enough by an ecu specialist. Other than that plug and play. -
Ok thanks. I have measured the area in the Mk2 and it will fit, but will probably stick out too far for my liking. Let me have a think.
-
The design on the woofer front suggests it is a Caliber to me. I am half interested, could you take some measurements please so i can see if it will fit in my Mk2 please. Plus i would need delivery as you are too far away.

Check the timing is spot on, check your 1m vac pipe to ecu is exactly that and in good condition, check wiring to the lambda sensor. Don't take too much notice of the water temp on dash, you might just need a new sender. Although you do need to check the bottom pipe from your rad to engine is only hot when engine is properly up to temp. If you can feel heat earlier then the thermostat could be stuck open giving the lower reading on your dash.

No green is correct, the G60 green wire feeds into the Ecu to give the amplified (or is it deamplified i can't remember) feed to the rev counter. On your friend's golf the feed goes straight into the fuse box. If you are getting no spark it might also be the hall sender in the dizzy. When you say adjust your isv valve what did you actually do?
