I knew someone would correct me sooner or later :wink: Yeah, I know smoke is bad (but sometimes I like to fool myself by saying it's ok and then I can believe that my VR is ok and not in need of £££'s)

Er, yeah, mine smokes abit. Correct me if I'm wrong (and someone probably will in a minute!) but I think VW say that the VR using 1 litre per 1000 miles is ok/normal.

Yeah, my golf's like that, I don't care about it and I don't really care where I leave it but it never seems to get damaged!

lol @ Blinky16v I wish I had a big plastic bubble in which I could place my car in when I left it! I'm always so paranoid about dents and scratches and stuff (let's not talk about the scratch that I put there). I always try to park in an empty corner or next to an expensive car in the hope that they will take care :wink:

What is the point of locking wheel nuts when they are so easy to get off without the key? :?

I saw two on friday, one was Butterfly, the other was behind me at the traffic light turning near the Longwell Green Asda. It was black. I was in the VR.

Yeah, chips away or someplace similar. Might just wait till we get rear bumper sprayed and get it touched up then. Plus just found out that the golf needs a new radiator!!! arghhhh, it's really not my day!

I'm still kicking myself for my stupidity. The passenger side has only just been resprayed too :x Hopefully it won't cost too much to fix. It's not dented just scratched, the worst bit is the sill but there is a deep scratch on the bottom of the door.

It is not my day today. :roll: Got into my golf this morning to come to work and the coolant light was flashing so I thought I'd bring the 'rado (it's more fun to drive too :wink: ). Was driving off the drive and turned left too soon and scrapped the bottom of the door and sill on the stupidly low wall alongside the drive :mad: Then on the way to work I get stuck in traffic and a journey that should take around half an hour took 2 hours and 20 mins :roll: Because of all of the above I am now in a really bad mood and I'm just waiting to see what'll happen next..... :cry:

I was with Endsleigh a few years ago and they added admin charges all the time!! Cost me £25 iirc, to change my address on the policy. Whereas Chris Knott who I'm with now did it for free and there was no extra charge for the policy even though I've moved out of a sleepy little village into the outskirts of Bristol!! It makes me mad that they charge for 'admin' when all it takes is a few minutes (if that) to change some details on their database!! :mad:

yep, too true. I bought the cheapest stereo I could when getting one for the golf. It was absolutely rubbish. If I turned the volume up over a certain volume it didn't work. So I took it back added another £50 and got a better one!!

I have my diesel golf as my daily driver but I HATE IT!! It's very economic on fuel and reliable and blah blah blah but I REALLY MISS THE 'RADO. The golf is just not fun to drive. :(

It's only a problem when it constantly flashes...like on my golf.....I just put something in the way of it so I can't see it :wink:

I have a leak in one of my coolant hoses and I need to know what it's called so I can get a new one. GSF have a 'Hose- Oil cooler to M/pipe'. There are two hoses that join the oil cooler, one above the other. Does anyone know which hose GSF mean? (I have a leak in the lower one).

Cool, got all those things. Another job for the weekend. Just wondering what's going to break next :roll:

I think I need a new radiator on my golf. How easy is it to change? Will I need any special tools?

LOL, Me too!! :wink: When I started my job about two months ago I didn't come on much because I wanted to make a good impression but the withdrawal symptoms just got too much!!

I'd never heard of one or knew what they were until 4 years ago when I met the other half. Over the years, I had started to like the shape of corrados more and more, so I bought my valver. I absolutely loved that car from the very moment I bought it. The looks, the handling, the grin on my face every time I drove it. There was one problem though........ it wasn't fast enough! So, we bought the VR!! :D
