  2. Never look a gift horse in the mouth....

    Mollyslip????

I know somebody that did this to their mk3 golf a couple of years back     It never stopped slipping for 3 months so it was a new clutch job in the end. Gutted, well for who ever it was, i dont remember.
  6. Actually i've just remembered something that backs this up! Was walking to college one day and heard an ambulance coming down the dual carriage way which was qued solid up to the point where i was. A girl in a 205 was driving towards the que quite slowly with the ambulance bearing down but slowing behind her. I saw her swerve, wave both her arms in the air (bit like the warning signal in team america) and then she slammed nailed the gas and absolutely mulered into the back of one of the stationairy cars. It was'nt a quick thing, she had plenty of time to calmly stop but panick changed all that and made her do something insane instead.
  7. Fair doooz and good point. It messes with your adrenilin which could do anything i guess
  8. 22 seconds on the gass, something not right there imo! Thats one hell of a long time to accidentaly hit the wrong pedal. Horrific accident and very upsetting, but pedal confussion looks to be an odd excuse, can't imagine the real reason though??
  9. Not sure on this specific case but i think its fair to say that for some reason motoring crimes like speeding etc are dealt with very harshly in this country. A car is a leathal waepon in the wrong hands, it just annoys me that for not fatal car crimes your treated like a terrorist. People who come round vandalising your property because they have nothing better to do get a medal..............and more benfits. It seems your better off raping someone than doing 160mph on a clear motorway at 2 in the morning. That to me seems wrong, but thats our country these days im afraid, basicaly a joke. and i've got no idea why so many people are pooring in here, the empire is no more
  10. Nice work Sam and the conversion team! £2.50 sent towards les flurs, well worth it. Retro heaven. Cheers Nick
  11. Chris, just spotted this, bummer dude. Really sorry to see it. At least the paint will be a bonus as you have picks to prove it wasnt a proper prang. Make sure you show us the shiney picks once done!!
  12. I may be over critical then. Its been sat outside in the rain which it never usually is, and it got started and stopped a lot last night including fuel pump cuts from the imobiliser. Just doesnt feel quite the same. Really apreciate your help though mate. Tekara has offered me his help with a laptop and vagcom, so i will do the reset anyways, never done it before and he reckons it made a slight difference to his and was worth it. Anyways your a star RW1, cheers for the advice my friend
  13. Well rub my rhubab, it only worked!! Unfortunately my once perfect idling car now runs like a bag of spanners. Lump idle, stalling at junctions and on a steady throttle has a really wierd kinda hunt to it, almost like the brakes are being gentley applied and off again! I take it this means i do definately need to do the reset procedure and basic settings? Cant do it tonight but im hoping RW that your gonna tell me these symptoms point to that being needed!?? How long do i have to disconnect the battery for for again before starting this reset procedure then. Many thanks to all btw who have posted on this, im not sure which one worked in the end, it was more a combo of all of them tbh! The mother of all releifs...............CHEERS GUYS Oh and sorry Yan but looks liek thats the end of your sarcasm mate! Until i break something else!
  14. You want a really really cheap decent way of doing it, buy an N-gage for less than £80 brand new. GPS receiver on ebay brand new less than £30 and either of 3 main brands of software on a mem card for less than £20! It works perfectly and has voice. Does'nt look cool, which those puppies certainly do and very oem+ But you also get a phone thats next to indestructable and plays cool games. Plus it seems to wedge perfectly between the dash and screen and doesnt block all your vision or fall off. (forced induction may relocate it though)
  15. 23 mins 11 seconds left to musical doors in the Tesco car park, wuhey
  16. You sarcy bartenders! Still be interested in knowing what they can offer anyways. They are literally 1 mile from my front door! Even just for trustworth servicing.
  17. Hang on a minute, isnt Ray West tuning near Andover? If so hes on my doorstep!! Any chance of a VR-remap of some sort do you think? Have to be piggy back from what ive read? If i get the alarm sorted that is!
  18. My fob has two buttons, a slidey switch on the side which seems to operate the interior sensors (ie if you have them on the alarms allways going off every couple of hrs feature) and also has a pin connector on the side for proper reprogramming. Tekara kindly found some scans on the forum for this alarm which gives another reset procedure, same as yours RW. A friend has another which include holding down the bonnet pin. My wife has the single button version on her vento, the book for that has another totally different reset for that one. Ill just try um all. !
  19. Cheers rw. ran a little plus gas in there (not too much) as id like to have that option!! Seems its just furd up a little. I now have about 5 different reset procedues to try! Its a bit like the transit advert with all the doors shutting! Yan, any idea if chris has the same alarm? As i know hes had his battery off a few times?
  20. PS: My alarm was second down from top left thanks H100.
  21. Thanks guys, really apreciate your help on this. I last tried the battery at 10.30 thismorning, so ill wait until 11 to be safe and try it all over again. I've had the + terminal disconnected but not the - though? mainly because its a mofo to get to! Anyone experienced the alarm unit just clicking like mine does when the batt is reconnected out of interest?? And whats the point of the round key that goes into the unit (the one that wont turn for love nor money!)??
  22. Well i've tried all the above method and car is dead in the water. 3 days back in the car loving it and then a flat battery causes this! Looks like its the train to work then, just for a change. Why did'nt i kepp my 200sx, it had no character but it worked! no lol's here today
  23. RW1 IIRC you are the ecu reset knowledge man! A. Do I need to as the batt has been disconected now for 10 hrs B. Do you have a link to the full procedure I know you;ve posted before as i cant find it on the search? Many thanks
  24. battery is now on charge. Alarm made a funny dqueek when i disconected the battery, but its stopped clicking now. Will try it all again in the morning with a little more juice in the batt. Cant try it now, as the alarm will prob go off and wake up our bubby, at which point me or the car or both will prob be evicted! Guess whos kicking himself for leaving the lights on thismorning then!
