I can second that. My 8x17s with 215s rubbed on the back slightly and i didnt want to enter the arch/will it go rusty afterwords zone. Was only slight though so i'd go 205s and you'll be laughing mate.

Nice figures mate. The torque figures from the Gs allways make me wonder whether i should have bought one instead of the vr, that eternal question! When the noise tingle dies i'll prob think a bit more! Will henny get his RR'd, i'd love to see the figures on that puppy?

That Jim's a clever bloke, must give you my rr video to shrink! Lovely car mate, great colour too, obviously! Looks like an absolute bute. Keep it tasteful, which you are doing. I love it.

Humour me p,ease on an idiotic question guys. What would be the result of fitting and running this with the 50/50 mix on a normally aspirated motor like the VR? I presume lowering the intake temps is allways good news, or do you need the forced induction to mix things up/excite the air enough for it to work. I suspect the answer will be that it will rpobably work but have little or no benefit at all on NA. No laughing please! ??

I thought you were into dwarfs mate

I bought a Lhasa green mk1 campaign in 1990 at college while all my mates had R5 turbo, 1.9 205s and rs turbos etcetc. They were all blowing up every 5 mins. Cut a long story short i bought it with 69k on for £2850, sold it after 8 yrs with 228k on (head never off!) for £2800 and never looked back. Since converted the whole family and went on to mk2 8v, mk2 16v, mk3 vr6, 2 scirrocco scalas, back to an 8v mk2, audi 80 2.8e, passat 1.8gt whilst looking for the C, then the vr. Basically though it made the best noise, looked the best, went the best and was the best everyday car vr ever made. Paricularly the refinement of the VR. Thats not knocking the other variants though, they are just very different. Vr being softer and less racey feeling that the 16v i went in. I have never been in a G60 anything though and would love a go in one to complete myself!

Stealth do a recon head and clutch fopr £650 fixed price, or as you said about £1300 with the chains as well. Little point in doing one without the other anyway though.

Umm, I could'nt get on today or obviously i would have got all these! NOT! Anyway, i've foudn a great one but im currently trying to get the camera anywhere near it, watch this space. Well done Rw1!

oh my god, sorry to see this mate. I;m suprised there were no fatalities! I suspect new bonnet, [ainting and wing paintings going to be the wrong side of a 1er done properly. Thats an expensive mistake for those guys. Any problems with the cheque amke sure you post it up. I'm sure 20-30 people on here are up for watching the guy go to the bank to get the cash! Lets hope theres no problem though. Best sit back and spend the time with your bro, and worry about this the following week mate.

GD it, yes! Thought it might last more than 15 mins, good work mate! Its gonna take some effort to flumux anyone on here. Anyone got a goodie?

Being off work and now feeling better/bored, plus knowing i'm signed off next week I thought i'd think of an annoying thread to start.  Well this is the best I came up with. Post a close up of an obscure corrado part and see how long it takes for someone to guess what it is. I'll start with an easy one from my VR. Sorry I know its childish  , but its the best i could think of and I'll probably end up learning something if it kicks off. Wait for one to finish before you wade in with yer macro setting!

Aint know compromises there then. bye bye creature comforts, hello track monster!
-
damm, something else i'll have to save for then! Want a vgi first though. 3ltr sounds good, any idea if the torque curve will drop down the rev range with the extra cc's or does the engines caroctoristics remain unchanged with peak around the 4k?
-
I've wondered the same thing, as thinking down the road i may go this route. btw, not sure Stealth do a re-map as such, although they may do a piggy back the VR can't easily be mapped as it is. I would think the standard maf etc will cope with anything you've added anyway. Prob only need a pucker map if you add a vsr/vgi or a sc. I wait to be corrected though which won't take long lol

That Not-aircooled bloke cracks me up. and i agree, although id have it if offered it only looks good out of the box. Freeze in winter, boil in summer and hard cornering = passenger seat time!

3.0 late 944 is the only other car that was on my list against the vr. Its the only non 911 i like, but even the run offs are starting to date more than the C looks wise. Main thing that put me off was the long gearing and therefore apparant lack of acceleration to 100, VR is much much more punchy. Left hooker should save you some cash as well bud, maybe up to 1000. Yey, i was the first to mention that !! no links on my post though sorry.

Well my previous post was half serious half trying to get you laughing, but the sales thing is worth while. I would'nt mind if it had been painted for that reason. But if you dont know you allways suspect its been munched. Really am angry for you though mate, make your blood boil and feel so helpless.
-
Also take some picks of the car (or save that one) so when people come to buy it you can show why it had paint, ie not a shunt (rather a c..t!)
-
F...ed up man, really sorry to see that. -Post him some dog sh.t -Tell him you've also sha..ed his mum -Sand in the petrol tank -Try and poor milk in his car somehow (full fat is best) -Put his phone number on a gay lonely heart add in the local paper Then shop him but be sure to tell the coppers he speeds regularly or they won't be interested!

Have to sort this or E38 is off for me  I have some new rear lights, surposedly InPro but i dont think they are! anyway, they have their own bulb holders so its bye bye vag ones, with the following wires coming out TOP BULB - Green/Yellow and White black BOTTOM - Plain Green and White Black (Joined to top Black/White) and a Red/Green one The original wiring has Black/White Grey/White Brown Brown/Red These are the main light units, im hoping those on the boot lid will not be a problem! Help please as i smashed a rear and have to fit these to get to e38!! PS: Dont ask how i smashed it! Cheers very much Nick

Nice Marcel, jelous on numerous counts........ A straight milteck tailpipe A spot on paint job in my fav colour The right rear lights for the colour and a garage wide enough to open the door and get out! I took your advice on the gromit, halfords pack does have just the right bit. I also touched up round the hole as you will scrape it slightly, and silconed the gromit in to be sure.
